The other day I asked a question on the boards regarding my 8 yo. I received so many great responses. I had dh read them and he commented that The DIS reminds him of an AA meeting.

You "talk" with strangers who share their stories. One story leads to the next and so on. Each helping in it's own way.

Even thought dh doesn't like the computer he can appreciate that some of us, me included, find it easier to talk and ask for help online than in person.

What a great place Pete started...........thanks Pete and thanks DIS friends!

Hello, my name is Shannon and I'm a Disney addict.;) Have been for probably 24 years or so.;) I don't want/need help with it hough.;)

Between 'in person' folks like Mark and online places like the DIS, we have it covered, Pem. So very true your and his words are.

My husband says all the time I need help with my Disney addiction. He says I have turned a nice enjoyable hobby into a huge addiction! I tend to disagree with him though.:D

My name is Pat, and I haven't been to Disneyworld in 5 years now, and am coping with it day by day. I will fall off the "wagon" in April.:wave2:

Well, if thinking AA is like the DIS will get someone who
decides they want to go there to go.....then it's just like AA.

However, as one who has attended from time to time-
I don't get the comparison. That's just me not getting it,
not saying anyone is wrong. Take what you need and leave
the rest.

shortbun-DH has been to AA. His comparison was that in AA someone will tell their story and then the next person tells theres and people can see how their unique stories have similar themes.

The same thing happens here on the CB. One person shares their trouble. Many people respond with similar stories and from those posts, you can get a feeling of validation and hope.

Does that make more sense to you? I'm not sure if I'm able to type what I mean clearly?! I'm confusing myself. ;)
