At his age it would be. Maybe it would be beneficial to talk to someone who has gone, but then Ill bet they go through al that stuff before they leave.

The older guys in his unit have already been to Iraq at least once (or other areas) .

He's in the "best of the best" as far as Marines go.. Alpha Raiders.

When we moved to ND, my mom bought me this gawd awful pink coat. It was huge, long, puffy... Just icky. I hated that thing, and was so glad I only had to wear it one winter!

hmm, I don't even know.. but that is the typical deployment. After that he might be going on Naval ship and doing trainings all over the world-- that is what his unit typically does.

see I hate poofy coats, you put your arms up and the coat rides up.. pull it back down again-- reapeat 100 times in one outing, meanwhile your butt gets cold.

I know the army fellas are going about 15 or 16 months right now. But who knows what will happen after the election, huh.

At least he will have some good family time!

Ds3 has taken up portraiture. He drew a face the other day, and I was surprised that... well, that I could actually tell it was face!

It was a big circle that filled almost the whole page, with two little circles for eyes, a bigger circle underneath for the nose, and a big squiggly smile. He said it was his brother.

I asked, "Shouldn't you give him some hair?" He said, "Yes!" and drew a small spike of hair in the center top of the head.

Then he said, "And feets!" and drew two lines down from the bottom of the head (they look like stick-legs, but he says they're not legs, they're "feets".)

Then he drew a picture of himself, then one of Mama (more hair, plus glasses, it's a hoot!), and then one of Daddy (I reminded him about Daddy's moustache, so he drew another squiggly line above the squiggly mouth; Daddy looks a little creepy with two mouths!) And "feets", we all have "feets".

So I wonder a psychologist would make of him drawing ginormous heads with little stick "feets"? No bodies, no arms, just head and feets.

That's actually a very good developmental skill, it has a certain name that escapes me now. The pshychologist would say he has a good concept of his self and family for his age/development

Is that for people who are no longer racing? I thought your BF was still racing...?

Since this 2nd surgery he is finally starting to realize that he needs to start taking it a little bit easier! The last time he was on the track was 2 years ago, a few days before his 1st surgery ads he crashed and broke his toe, 3 ribs and messed up his knee.

I have NO idea. I dont rent movies... We are BAD at returning things.


I like KFC. We finally have a Del Taco in the area.. but have yet to go there. We JUST got a CHurches Chicken, but for some reason, they put it next to KFC. Weirdos.

I can not rent movies from anywhere in my city nor can I check out library books for any of the 3 librarys around me because I owe all of them way too much $.

I bought green crocs today and a jibbit of Tinkerbell Wanted something new and now I can wear Jibbits !

I have the mickey head holes in my current crocs, can't do jibbits boohoo, they fall out.

Not to mention, my current crocs have been walking in the ocean-- they probabaly stink

I wore my new Mary Janes to work on Friday for the first time. I have never worn Crocs to work but everyone liked them! I have a Tinkerbell in my Sea Foam Green ones and Eeyore in my red, white, pink swirley ones.

Mondays are always busy for me. Even though I'm off on Sat. and Sun. the newspaper stlll has to go out. It's like 3 days worth of work on Mondays.

Just a quickie fly-by, since both boys are home with me today.

DS7's fever early Sunday morning turned into a croupy cough. We've been giving him Dimetapp to calm the cough, and Albuterol to open up his airways.

He woke early this morning and was bark! bark! bark! so I gave him Dimetapp. Worked like a champ on the coughing, great!

Half an hour later I gave he Albuterol, which made him start coughing again.

He sounds like a very sick seal, so I couldn't send him to school like that. At the very least, it would be terribly disruptive to the class, not to mention might creep some people out thinking he's horribly ill.

Another mom, who has a daughter with the same condition, suggested I try cough drops and see if that calms down the coughing. So we're gonna run out to the store and see if we can find some he likes, then see if they work! If so, I'm sending him to school a little late then. Wish us luck!

YES!!! i love it...but definitely not for watching in the same room as the children are in

I am totally down with that. I have never seen it, so I am looking forward to it! I dont like most breakfast stuff. So they had beter be some killer pancakes.

dont kill me pix but honestly megan...i dont think the pancakes are all that great..in fact the last 2 times I went to RB for breakfast the food was cold and also stayed on my stomach all morning long and well into the afternoon...that being said, i do their fruit plate....

The irony is that in this age, too many kids are overweight. So why does it seem like the girls' clothing is so thin? Where are all these fat girls shopping???

I was buying size 12s for my 8yo niece, and 16 Huskies for her 10yo brother. The girls' clothes just look soooo long and thin, obviously she's not that tall, but it's weird that that's the size she fits. I just tried to buy things with elastic waist or no waist, or knit fabric. Some styles, too, are chubby-friendly.

I don't think Mikalah is unusually chubby for a toddler, the problem is she's forced to wear clothes that are not sized for a toddler body but a child who is 6yo and considerably taller. I don't know that there's a perfect solution for that...?

based upon pics ive seen and what I saw of her last year I have to agree with alex...shes very big boned for one thing and so tall...I mean she was as tall as samantha (andreas then just turned 4 dd) last june...you know staley, and this is a suggestion only, why dont you consider learning how to sew...for one it will give you something to do and also as she grows older its going to become harder and harder to find really cute clothes that she probably will want to wear but if you know how to sew then it wont be an issue at all
