Anyone besides me excited for FOOTBALL SEASON!? :cheer2:

Me - not so much...DH - YES! He has Redskins season tickets...he goes with like 4 other people...so he's basiscally worthless around here starting on like Labor Day....(hummm....maybe that's why I'm not excited?! Worthless DH?!) :confused3 Could be....could be....

Ok Annie I don't think I will be much help but Ill try. Rose & Crown...a while ago (like years) I know they changed the policy to no longer accepting requests (even at check in) for outside tables. I don't know if this has changed back or not. As long as you will be eating/drinking I don't see a problem with sitting at a table in Mexico. My preferred option for Illuminations when eating earlier is about 1 hour out grab a bench somewhere in the Italy area. Send 1 person to the stand to purchase dessert, like yummy cannolis, and some drinks, they have great Bellinis there, sit and enjoy those...maybe get a second drink, and before you know it, its show time.

Ive never done either H&V or BD since we always eat at Mama Melrose. Sorry.

I've never tried Captain Jacks because we dont eat seafood but we really like Wolfgang Pucks.

Thanks! The Rose & Crown info. is impt. to know!!!!! Of course I've spent a good portion of my day picking apart everything about every ressie & examining why they're not good! If we go to Epcot on the 17th we waste the late Magical Hours nite on the Magic Kingdom (never mind that we'll also be there the next nite for the Princess & Pirate party...). Epcot is open late on our first nite...so maybe we'll just bag the whole Rose & Crown thing & do our usual Mexico thing...I'm sure I'll be ready for a few Margaritas by then!:thumbsup2

Mama Melrose was already booked up 90 days out or whenever I'd called before - that's why we ended up with H & V and Brown Derby ressies...guess I need to study their menu's this week to help me decide between them.... I would like to try Wolfgang Pucks sometime too - but they don't have any good times left...maybe next summer pre-cruise?! :woohoo: Let's see...when can I make those ressies? March?:rotfl:

Went school shopping today...some supplies @Target some @ Staples... Also hit Kohl's...I figure DS can start the year in his old jeans but they're gonna get too short soon...so was shopping for 10 slims with the adjustable waist inside so I can cinch 'em up on him (only 53 lbs:eek: )....found some other cute Urban Pipeline pants with a drawstring that zip off into shorts too...gotta try 'em on him now to see if they'll stay up...sometimes elastic alone is not enough!!:rotfl2:

Oh yeah!! :cheer2:  :cool1:

Johnna - How's about you be in my football pool this year! It's fun. TZM and ophie are in it, as is SoccerdadChris, RJ, and of course myself. I'll pm ya the details. It's fun, you're in, and that's all there is to it! ;)

Beano do tell me more about this football pool, i might be interested. I like football, but you know I love baseball. I am a Dolphins fan...

I summon the great stonedragon of the DVC, wanted to know what would be a good resort to stay in before the cruise, keep in mind it will be our kids first time to the World of Magic.

Beano and Cheri are you guys staying at the Poly before the cruise, a friend of mine say that is good resort for kids...

Actually we have all stayed at the Poly several times, and it is good for kids. But, in my opinion, the best place for them (with you being DVC members) would be the Beach or Yacht Club. The kids would LOVE Stormalong Bay! It's a little further to travel to get to Magic Kingdom, but as far as the pool, it's the best one on property. The Poly would definitely be my second choice because it is very close to Magic Kingdom, and it's a monorail resort.

:scared1:

:woohoo:  :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay:  :dance3:
:cheer2: :happytv: :hyper: :worship: :hyper2: party: :jumping3:

Uh yeah... count Mr & Mrs GSD in for that one!

YAY! and your favorite teams would be....?? Sean is a Dolphins fan...

Um... well OK! PM me the details. Is it like fantasy football?

Well, I thought I was juuuust about done with this year's vacation DVD, and then one of the applications decided to eat my video files. So, as soon as I stop screaming, I have to work on restoring and/or recapturing everything and starting over. Oh boy. :headache:

Ouch. Sorry to hear this news. This must be a separate computer/application than what you just upgraded?

Annie, ADRs can be made 180 days in advance. If you are staying on site you can make them for your whole trip (up to 10 days) beginning 180 days form your check in date, so you dont have to call back every day.

Just wanted to chime in here too...I'm a big fan of the Poly. Love it! Our last stay there was 3 years ago and we did have a few "issues", but the theming and location are wonderful. :thumbsup2

THAT'S my problem!! I don't WANT to make dinner reservations that far out - but everybody else in the world apparently has no problem knowing what they're going to be doing on X date at X time and that they're going to feel like eating X type of food at precisely 6:45 on this date!! I think the whole DDP has RUINED everything - I hate it - we're not even using it ('cuz now that DS is 10 we'd have to pay adult prices but he eats about $3 worth of food / day!) But so if we want to eat something besides a chix sandwich, burgers or pizza at a sit down restaurant we have to go thru this reservation BS. I'm sorry, but I think it's ridiculous and why 180 days out?! I mean, really. That's nuts. And it's driving DH nuts that I'm even ASKING him what, when & where!! He's very irritated over it and he definitely doesn't want to be so-o scheduled about dining! You would think as anal as I am that this would be perfect - but see, I also have a problem with making decisions...so this is REALLY not good.... :headache:  :scared1:

Ya know, as much of a planner as I am, I hate the 180 days too. Sometimes I don't even have my trip planned 180 days in advance. And I think a lot of people are in the same boat and just book anything and everything making ADRS so tough to get. I thought the 90 days was just perfect...gave us plenty of time to plan, but not too far out. I for one don't like this change(ok it's not new anymore, but....).

I recommend the Wilderness Lodge Villas because of the proximity to MK and because of how grand the place is. I don't think that you can go wrong there.

If you keep going and going you are going to disappear, Betsy! I want to know your secret. You make it seem so easy. Great job!:thumbsup2

Hey Bets....

I have about 20 extra pounds, could ya lose it for me? :rotfl2: it seems to be easier for you to lose than me!

A big thank you to the DISer who originally made this...I "borrowed" it from another thread!

Wait a minute - you guys own DVC & you've never taken your kids?!?!? Wow! We've only been down a couple of times with DS but he remembers the Animal Kingdom Lodge more than Coronado Springs...the animals are so cool and they're RIGHT THERE...and they've got a good pool & "great donuts" according to him! :rotfl: Oh, and my favorite restaurant ever - BOMA!! But I want to try ALL of the resorts (eventually). Wilderness Lodge looks great too...I would like to sneak a trip in to stay there. But we're out of points & have to book on cash now :scared1: DH keeps saying NO to any more points...but shhhhh...I'm hoping to get him in one of the AKV models when we go down next week - maybe that will help persuade him to rethink it?! I only want 70 more points...that would be enough for a week in a studio savannah view in the "magic" season every other year... I'm hoping to do AK again tho next summer pre-cruise for a few nites...it's so beautiful... I know a lot of people love the Poly - but I just can't imagine it being better than AK (or better than Hawaii)!!

I've been pricing a couple of diff. dates for next year to see if we can squeeze in a short trip sometime...I wish you could "hold" airfare like you do other ressies! I found a good price on Ted for Spring Break... Anyway, we have an unknown variable in the mix for now. Last winter we went on a 4 n ski weekend for the first time ever (picture Lucy on skis after some Capt. Morgan!!) :lmao: Oh boy! There were no amount of lessons in the WORLD that were gonna keep me on my feet!! :rotfl2: I stopped counting falls at like 25 I think! We went with like 4 other families & rented a big 7 bedroom house with an indoor pool - very fun! (Now picture 8 adults in a hot tub in 15 degrees / sleet jumping out to make SNOW ANGELS and THEN think about how much alcohol it took to get us to that point!! :lmao: Anyway, DS really took to the skiing (much better than his 'ole Mom). After a day & 1/2 in "ski camp" he was doing the Blue slopes! But so it's getting a bit late to get it booked if we're going to go (most of the "good" houses are gone already for MLK weekend - but that's when we want to go 'cuz the kids are also out of school on that Tues for a "professional day"). Anyway, the talks just started about planning it as far as who's "in" etc. it will be a couple more weeks before we know if it's going to happen. If we do that then we may not be able to go to FL again...but I'm keeping it open as an option & crossing my fingers!! :goodvibes

We are heading to Nashville on Friday morning.. My aunt (my dad's sister-in-law) died today (she had been ill with Alzheimers for awhile). My cousins came down when my dad died, so Rick says we need to make the trip for them. Mom will come with us..it is about 13 hours from here...

will be nice to go to Tennessee, but not such a great reason
