Thoughts from an email from Sylvia's mom, after she was able to link into the DIS and read what was shared about her daughter.

Hi, Dan

This is the first time I've e-mailed you and probably the last for this summer. Larry's cancelling our internet services until the fall because we hardly use it over the summer.

I wanted to thank you very much for the memoriam for Sylvia on June 7th. It just meant so much to me. We've printed it out so that Nick can see it when he comes over the next time. Thanks again.

Well, I'll have to close now. We have a very busy day ahead. Larry has to be at the hospital at 6:30 tomorrow morning. His surgery is at 8 a.m.

What a nice note, Dan, Margerete seems like such a strong person.

I had mentioned to a "real life" friend the other day how sad I was, being the anniversary of an on-line friend's death. She asked me how I could mourn a person I had never met.

I thought about it for a moment, and I came to the conclusion that I cared for Sylvia as much as I care for any of my friends - those who I see every day, and those who I just communicate with via the Internet. Sylvia was a gift in my life, as well as in my heart, and I will continue to celebrate her life and mourn her death. Just because I never laid eyes on her doesn't impact the way I felt about her.

In any case, I'm rambling.....
