Hi dads...we did some major shopping the weekend an after today's 4th day in a row... I have offically dropped lol

Hope everyone had a great holiday! Just wanted to share some interesting news - a company I do business with has invited me to a three day conference on new products in February 16-18. The rub? It's, uh, at WDW!!!!!

My wife and DD3 were not as excited as I was obviously. I think they are even a little mad about it...guess that AP will get used sooner rather than later!!!!!

Just tell them, It's hard work, but someone has to do it!!!!!:lmao:

Hi to all DDC'ers. Being stuck in a rapidly chilling NY late Fall, I was thinking a dose of Disney Magic was called for. My wife and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary  about 3 weeks ago so I took the opportunity to give her 3 tickets to the Broadway stage production of Mary Poppins. She had been commenting (hinting?) for several months prior how she wanted to see the show everytime the television commercial was aired. I should add that about 4 years ago we saw the Lion King on stage in NYC and it was an unforgetable experience. Anyway, I purchased the tickets on-line, printed them at home, and then printed a big glossy promo picture for the show as a cover for the folder I put them in and suprised her with the tickets. Our tickets were for the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Leaving home at app 8:30am we (Me, DW, & DS14) arrived in Manhattan 9:45am. On a sad note, and just by coincidence the memorial service for a coworker who passed away was being held uptown that day so I stopped quickly to pay my respects. After that it was straight to Times Square. The show was the 2:00pm matinee, so we had plenty of time to walk the streets and shop. If you've never been to NYC and Times Square in particular, it's a fantastic place. People from all over the world and all walks of life as well as the locals bring an incredible energy to the place. While it was chilly (mid 40's) the sun was shinning, the stores were decorated and magic was in the air. At about 1:15 we went to the theater. The New Amsterdam Theater is owned by Disney and is a marvelous place to see a show. It was where we saw the Lion King several years back. We had orchestra seats, left of stage, row R. I do not believe there are any bad seats there. Even the mezzanine and balcony looked great. We were held in the lobby until about 1:30pm and then let into the theater itself about ten minutes later. The ushers however would not seat anyone until about ten minutes after that. It kind of reminded me of waiting for the rope drop at the World at park opening. No running though as you had to wait for the usher to seat you (very civilized this theater stuff). The play was fantastic. The sets were incredible and the acting, singing, and dancing were beyond great. The only negative was the size of the seats and the spacing between rows made for a tight fit. The play ended by about 4:45 with a 15 minute intermission. At the end of the play, Mary Poppins flies through the air and it looks like she disappears into the ceiling above the balcony. It's done with wires that are very visible, but no matter, for that moment it is magic. Our day ended with dinner at the Planet Hollywood, which is a lot of fun even if the food is rather standard fare, followed by a trip the M&M's World, a huge store that has just about anything you can imagine that can be enblazened with an M&M logo (the candy) the store is a blast. My son is a budding guitarist and he has wanted the M&M electric guitar that is there since we visited the place last year. I treated him to the guitar and he was a happy camper. Let me tell everyone, If you ever get the chance to see one of the Disney stage productions in NYC, GO GO GO!!!! The Little Mermaid is playing as well as Lion King and Mary Poppins. Treat yourself to some Disney Magic, you dads work hard and deserve it. There is nothing better in this world than a Disney day with your family. I'll try to post a few pictures when I get a chance.

I'm heading up this Sat and that's one of the Shows we will try to get into via the SameDay Ticket boot. I had a freind check a few weeks ago and they did have tickets Availible for that Sat.

DD school is having a Bus trip and we had a blast last year just me and her. This year DM and DW are going with us as it's DMs birthday so we are treating her up.

If we get in that 4:45 should put us right around the time we need to leave with some wiggle room.

Thanks for the Report it couldn't have came at a better time. We also look forward to hitting the WorldOfDisney while there as well.

I'm glad my report came at a good time for you. Enjoy your day, it's the kind of memory that lasts forever!!!!

I would say that 95% apply to me. I have about 30 Disney ties and I have atleast 8 Disney CD's in the car.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Hey guys - been lingering for a while and now it's time to contribute!
I just started a trip report for our 9 day trip - from DAD's point of view!
I did all of the planning (my EXCEL spreadsheet had everything planned TO THE MINUTE) so I figure I get to write the report.
We had a whirlwind tour of all 4 parks and saw EVERYTHING (minus the rollercoasters).
It was a blast! Click on the link in my signature to come on over!

Happy Sunday fellow Dis-Dads. Over the past couple weeks, I've been highlighting a WDW table service restaurant every couple days for my wife, in anticipation for being able to make our ADRs soon (well ... not as soon as I had originally hoped for due to their system update...but still) for our June trip. We've only done a handful of table service restaurants at WDW so we're hoping to widen our disney dining horizions.

So, on that note...what are the table service options that your family simply cannot miss? I need to figure out if I have any gaps in my list. I like the idea of getting a wide range of opinions. Thanks!!!!

On that note....We're going March 6. Is it too early to try to start thinking about dining and reservations for that stuff now? I'm thinking my wife thinks I'm crazy cuz I'm working out a spreadsheet with to-dos and restaurants, etnertainment and financials.
