I really liked the pic Barry posted of the monorail a while back. I was hoping I could talk DW into doing something with it for a logo, but she's been busy so I goofed around in GIMP a bit to see if I could come up with anything. Here's my first couple passes.

Not bad... but something tells me the powers that be in the legal office of Disney ain't gonna like that we took there old Contemporary logo and flipped it.

Well my son's football season came to a crashing halt tonight. We just got back from the hospital with a cast on a broken arm. Happened at the end of practice when they were doing a sumo drill and when he and the other kid fell, he took a helmet to the forearm.

6 weeks in a cast; puts a damper on basketball season too.

Bummer! Hope he gets better soon.
But not too soon. Chicks dig casts.

If you guys did not like now for my Bacon Remark I guess i'm going to get thrown out of here when i say i have not had a dole whip yet in over 15 visits to WDW
and Space Mountain too I guess i like to savor and save things to do for next trip

I did two Macs last night, an iPad, and an iPhone - still have an iPad to go!

Question Aaron - don't know if you know the answer to this....

My wife and I share an apple id for purchases for the app/itunes store. But I don't think we want to share that same ID for iCloud or else our Calendars and Mail will co-mingle. Would it be best for us to set up another Apple ID to strictly use for iCloud? Is it possible to use a separate apple id for the store on your device and then another one for iCloud?

I like this idea, but to keep the lawyers with ears out of our hair, we may need to get away from any image originally produced in house, but… there is more then one way to draw a monorail so that it evokes the image, without being too close to copyrighted material. I found a couple of images that could license from there non-Disney creators that might fit the bill. I may look into it later this evening and I’ll share the source material if I acquire any of these. Feel free to go the same route if the mood strikes you.

Sitting in our car earlier this week my 5 yo DD blurts out "its strange, I don't like pigs, but I love bacon." Doesn't really apply to your comment, but bacon just is.

Full disclosure... I haven't had a Dole Whip (at Disney World) either. I have never though the concept of pineapple flavor ice cream was all that intriguing until hanging out around all these guys. We have a trailer that goes the the county fairs and sells pinapple whips so I gave it a try this summer... once or twice... and I look forward to having the real thing in about a month and a half.

At some point in time, I believe so. We want to see MSEP and Wishes. I'll probably take DW and DS back to the resort and return to MK for some solo time on the mountains during evening EMH since she won't be able to ride them anyway.

Yes, from what I have read you can have your iCloud use a separate ID from the one you use for the iTunes store and you still retain all the goodness of the iCloud. I am too lazy to look up where that setting is for putting in the iCloud ID, but it should be pretty intuitive.

Aaron and Scott you guys are on it with your updates. I keep hearing good things about 5 maybe I'll spend this weekend updating stuff. I plan to sell DW's 4 on craigslist and get her a 4s. Hopefully I'll make enough off that to pay for a big portion of her race entry fee for the WDW half in January.

The original plan was to use the idea of the monorail and flip a real picture of the Monorail on the curve on the track between Contemporary and Magic kingdom to get the "D" and then use some of the effects in photoshop to make the picture more cartoon-y. Unfortunately my photoshop skills are limited to the lasso tool and the paint bucket so DW would have had to "help" (Do the whole thing) and she hasn't had time for that this week. Hopefully she'll have time later this week and we can play with it some more. My goal is not to get a logo that's picked. I just want us to have enough options so that Aaron can comfortably pick one.

The pineapple/vanilla swirl is a little more mild and you way want to try that first.

I like options. I think that the one I submitted (a variation of the one down there in my sig) may be one of the few that he has to work with, and I also agree with Aaron that it’s not bad, but not so good as to deserve to be chosen outright. I like your idea much better then what I offered up. We just need to find a way to put it together.
