Wow, good spin, you should be in sales:lmao:

I really suck at sales. Read a report from another company that shopped me when I was working as an enterprise software sales guy. The report said something along the lines of they have a technical person "trying" to be a salesperson.

The PO-Riverside refurb is just now in progress. But it is, indeed, getting queen-sized beds in the rooms that had doubles before. There remains some question whether the rooms in Alligator Bayou that had trundles will get Queens, but so far everyone who's asked has been told that all POR-refurbed rooms will have Queens (which just makes sense, given what a PITA it would be too need different-sized sheets for just a few rooms in Alligator Bayou).

Thanks Aaron. I started checking on the remodel progress on Port Orleans.org . For those of you planning on staying there in the near future its a good site. It tracks which buildings have been remodelled and which haven't so you can make intelligent room request. My MEI travel agent has a block of rooms reserved already at a rate below the winter discount but the kings are already booked.

Morning Dads

Agreed. I think it'd be a lot of fun, but the issue would be coming up with the $ to cover the trip especially park tickets. DW and I struggle with spending $ on a trip for us to the World instead of doing a nicer family trip, so doing a trip completely by myself would likely get shot down.

Same here...but it would be fun to live vicariously through the ones who were able to make it and share pictures and stories!:thumbsup2

We have lots of criteria on the front page. On the venn diagram of disney fandom we all likely overlap a lot. Is there something for you that puts you over the top? That takes you from a guy who really likes Disney to something more. Something that makes your family go "yeah we don't understand that"?

My family usually shares my Disney obsession with me. The thing they don't get is my interest in Disney history and things like Wedway Radio. For them Disney media is about learning what new attractions there are, how they might better enjoy the parks or living vicariously through other people experiencing parks we'll likely never see IRL. Listening to an hour long podcast about the changes to WDW in the 70's or 80's doesn't interest them in the least and kind of leaves them scratching their heads. (those were both good episodes btw)

How about you are there any Disney interests in your life that makes even a Disney loving family scratch their heads about you?

Well... funds and spousal approval would be the typical limiting factors. :lmao::rotfl2:

Living vicariously works! Sounds like some of us would be in the same boat. So we would need to save costs by rooming together. :rotfl2:

As long as our wives don't kill us first!

My family is pretty Disney-obsessed as well. Offhand, the one area in which I differ is that I really enjoy the planning--going through all the scenarios with parks, ADR's, etc, reading up on what shows are offered when, what's on this menu, etc. They don't like to spend THAT much time on it.

Planning in the Trike house is part of the adventure. In a strange way we all seem to start feeling the magic as soon as we start reading about places. The enjoyment we get planning just helps us increase our enjoyment per dollar ratio increasing the value of our Disney trip. This makes the miser in me :)

:rotfl::rotfl: I can only aspire to your level of Disdad-om Randall.

Well, this one dates back to my pre-dad days. My mom is the original Disney fan of the family and always wants to go back any chance she can. One year for Christmas, my dad gave her an envelope with money in it and a copy of the Unofficial Guide. The next weekend, I read the Unofficial Guide cover to cover and basically had our trip planned. That pretty much sums it up.

Since that point in time, I always have a trip planned. Once in a while I actually have one booked and actually get to follow through on those plans.:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It does sound like a lot of fun! I think my biggest issue would always be whether or not I had the funds to attend. But I'm sure not everybody would be able to go all the time...just whenever it could be worked out.

Well... funds and spousal approval would be the typical limiting factors. :lmao::rotfl2:

Love the idea of a mass meet. A lot of of other groups meet in early December. Tough with kids in school but there are plusses. The weather is great, prices are low and so are crowds. And you get the Christmas decorations and parties. We can also piggyback with other meets and join a lot of others in the Disney community. I am sure we could also have one of the “stars” to keynote a breakfast or dinner. Whenever and whatever, I’m in.

Agreed that cost and spousal approval would be the biggest "limiting factors" (well put, Andy!) But maybe in December, at a value resort, more of us could swing it. Too bad we don't know any travel agents. :rolleyes1

My kids might never forgive me, though... :confused3

We were pretty to surprised how well our kids reacted when we told them "YOUR GETTING TO GO HAVE AN AWESOME TIME WITH GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!.....while we go to Disneyworld without you

That's why I vote for summer. I think I could convince DW to take another family trip in summer time. BTW, did I mention she greenlighted more DVC points at BLT. I'm having a hard time not calling for an addon contract right now.

This was a new poster hanging on ABC TV show alley at DHS. I think I am in love.

So, the girl on the left is the OT from parenthood and the first girl Adam Sandler got with that wedding ring in the movie with the hot swimsuit model. The second is the other hot girl from the 1st transformers. I watched the first show and while it was absolutely terrible, I just could not turn the channel. :happytv:

I'm sorry if you've done this before but could you describe your picture in your avatar. Is that you as Captain Jack Skellington?

Drunk vacation ownage. Squirrel.

Yes, my idea was Captain Jack on vacation. Which one? Sparrow or Skellington - you decide. I posted a series of pics in a thread Capt Barbosa started. The braids probably would have shown up better with a white t-shirt, but wanted to wear that shirt as well. I grew my beard out since July and DW wrapped it. At the ends are some Disney beads to give it some weight.

See previous post.
Modify physical appearance.
Wear beard with 3 months growth, wrapped, with Disney beads.
Wear wig in Florida for 8 hours during MNSSHP.

Winner.

Hey aren't you at the parks? Shouldn't you be doing something so we can live vicariously through you?

A great day of relaxation at BLT. A beautiful day. A little cloudy, mostly sunny, with no rain. We woke up at 9:00 AM after being at MNSSHP til after midnight. Been at the pool since then. Came up and took showers, dressed up, and heading to Narcoosee's for lobster dinner. I have a really good buzz going from drinking the Stella Artois and soaking in the hot tub. I'll take a pic tonight and see how many snooty snots thumb their noses at me. :3dglasses

Were we talking about bringing families? I thought this was a guys only trip...
