Is anyone here interested in attending WDWToday Reunion at Walt Disney World (approximately December 8 - 12)?

I just discovered I have a free plane ticket on SWA that I have to use by early January, and I'm thinking I might be able to make Reunion happen, if I can find a roommate.

:dancer:party::bday::cake::dancer::rockband:party: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Stopher & CJ, :smickey:is brewing :stir:up some pixiedust: in the hope that your Birthday Wish comes true:goodvibes

Thats a good idea, maybe it will help her to realize how her behavior is affecting not only herself but others as well. I will talk to the wife today and maybe put it into action tonite. Thanks be to ye who reside in the Land of Merry!

If anyone else has any ideas please feel free to contribute!

Matt

I'm looking forward to responses. I have one who is below grade level this year. DW read some stuff about ADD in girls manifesting as a day dreamer, easily distracted, messy handwriting. She says that girls grow out of it in puberty. My other child is grade level and above grade level in testing. But, she doesn't try. She scored 3 goals in her soccer game this weekend (1 not trying and out of position) and then tells me she doesn't want to do indoor soccer next season, and wants to be an extra in Nutcracker dance performance. Glad I buzz off my hair, otherwise I'd pull it out.

Mark, I replied on the podcast board.

So, after school, DD went to the mall to look at Homecoming dresses and to give moral support to a friend that was applying for a job. No big deal, I would pick her up at the mall and we would have dinner at Fridays.

We are seated and she hands me a package. Aww, thats nice. My daughter bought me something because I am such a great dad. She gives it to me and says, "Happy Birthday." Totally forgot it was my birthday today.

To top it off, the waitress asked me for ID when I ordered a drink. My response was, "Really?" She said yes, really. I handed my DL over and commented that I was probably older than her parents. She took one look at it and said I was right.

The best thing though is DD bought a dress and it was only $20.

I am mentioning it here not just because I thought it was funny but Stopher and I share the same birthday. So if you see this, Happy Birthday Christopher.

Thank you! Happy birthday to you too! :thumbsup2

Same to you. Dropping the child off at school and heading back to the Keys to pick up my friend. Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. It was a good day even if I didn't know it was the big day until it was almost over.

Have a great day all.

‘Morning all..

Been silly busy the last several days. October is generally crazy time in our house
(those of y’all with kids in high school bands will know what I’m on about here).
I’ve missed a bunch but I was finally able to go back a read a bit so lets hit a
couple of the highlights.

First off…
:welcome: to the new fell’as

Happy belated birthday to…
CJ (oh… and nice pics form the trip down to the keys)

And… A happy belated birthday to…
Stopher (keeping y’all in our thoughts & prayers)

Dave… thanks for the updates. I look forward to the days when I can spend
some time at WDW with just me and the Mrs. Thanks for the pictures
(the one at HS around sunset is gorgeous).

Went to the UT vs Buffalo game on Saturday...Half Time show was a special treat...for you Band Geeks...they did a Tribute to Disney songs.

Also the UT Band is joined by a Local High School from Nearby (to me) Kingsport TN.

Note that during the Hi-ho-hi-ho part that Smokey is dressed as Sorcerer Mickey. (He's leading the group on the Right.)

Enjoy.

On behalf of the band geeks, thanks for posting the links.
It looks and sounds like they were having a lot of fun.

The alert beacon has not been activated:confused3
Well, he said if he didn't come back in 2 hours to look for him. He's probably in a bacon induced coma somewhere.

Did we ever send in an extraction team to determine the severity
of the bacon exposure or is Barry still MIA?

Oh… I’m interested…
It ain’t gonn’a happen… but I’m interested

(I sure wish I could discover that I had a free plane ticket that needed to be used).

When I have been on the DIS the last few days, I've found myself sucked into some of the discussions going on outside of our little bacon-lined sanctuary. I am so glad none of that ridiculousness goes on in here. :thumbsup2
It's scary out there. A few days ago I accidentally got out on the regular Disney For Families board. Some woman posted that she had heard that there is some kind of FastPass for pregnant women. People went on for 3 or 4 pages railing on her for everything from even considering coming to WDW while pregnant to thinking that just because she's pregnant that she thinks she better than other people.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating. The DDC is awesome.

Unfortunately, I never found the source of the bacon smell. :sad1:
But I'm thinking of bringing in at hot plate to fry up my own to cover the smell of whenever someone burns their popcorn in the microwave 50' from my office. :scared:

CJ - Happy Belated. :thumbsup2

Stopher - Happy Belated to you too. I feel your family's pain - we went through the same thing with my mom just over a year ago. Knowing that the end was near, but not knowing just when. Prayers for your family that he goes peacefully and you can gather with family to celebrate his life.

Good morning guys!

Got some good news and bad news.

Good news is, I don't have to go to work today

Bad news is it is because I'm at home with a 20 month old who has strep throat. We'll try to make the best out of it though. Getting some things caught up around the house. When we went to pick up his prescription I happened to wander back to the electronics section and buy some movie about lions on blu ray, so we'll probably give that a watch later.

Congrats on the day off!
Sorry it isn't under better circumstances:sick:

Hope the meds help out your little guy quickly!

Enjoy (?) your day off! popcorn:: :rolleyes1 :confused3:confused3

Barry- Sorry you didn't find any bacon on your quest.

Dave(Zerfs)- Thanks for posting all the pics and your live updates from WDW!

Stopher- So sorry to hear about your FIL... praying for you guys.

Good Morning!

Managed to get all caught up this morning.

Dave, thanks for the reports from your trip! I've been hoping to be there for the 50th... a lot can happen in ten years, we'll see.

Happy belated birthday to stopher and cj!

cj, loved the pics and videos from your dive. Diving is something I've always wanted to do! I hope my ear issues don't prevent me from being able to do that somewhere down the road.

Andy, sorry to hear about the strep. hope the little guy feels better soon!

Barry, I saw that thread!! My god, all she did was ask a question!! At least I didn't post on that one. I couldn't restrain myself from jumping in on the "seats on the bus" thread. man oh man...

Hope everyone's having a great day so far!

Time to go pick up my DD from preschool, and hopefully i'll have time later to catch up on all the TRs I fell behind on, and maybe update my own!!

Dave: that picture of DHS at sunset is awesome! :thumbsup2

CJ and Stopher: Happy birthday (belated)!

Stopher: Ugh. I know you've known these days were coming for a while, but that doesn't mean it's easy. We're praying that the suffering is minimized, and the memories are joyful.

Yuck. Sorry your son isn't feeling so well. Sounds like you got a nice cure for him! And I'm sure the medicine will help, too.

The same thing happened to me on Facebook yesterday. One of my friends posted a column from CNN relating statistics that men 18-34 are spending their time playing video games for hours instead of getting college degrees, and being active as fathers and leaders in their community. I made a mild comment agreeing with the intent of the column and nearly got my head taken off. People are amazing these days.
