I dont think its that I just think its that women tend to sit there a talk to much and it distracts the kids!!!!!!! I still think it would be a good thing to have parents there and get them involved with the meetings,then they wont have time to sit and chat.

Eating lunch trying to come up with how to pull off 2 WDW trips next year

So far I got
- 5 days worth of Park Hoppers for 2 adults
- In laws time share for whatever week we want
- by then a est. $300 -$400 on the Dis rewards card to put toward dinner

I'm looking into some Amtrak promos, if they do the Credit Card one again that gives you 30,000 pts, the van is 16,000 each way this would be like 1/2 price of the fare


Also have several Gift Auctions coming up that I already have tickets for (if they don't have some sort of a prize for WDW, we will not even think about going) the one's I got tickets for do indeed have WDW items

I think they all look good. Are you going to have a car? If not it seems like you could streamline some of the logistics if you move your Ohana dinner till Friday of course that could be a longer meal than what your looking for on a MK park day. If you are looking for non-buffet TS meals on Friday in MK we've enjoyed Liberty Tree tavern.

Side note: It is not fair to make people think about Le Cellier and Ohana when they are eating a tired ole microwaveable meal for lunch.

so I've been mulling a couple of disney trip planning things around in my head and hoped maybe you guys have some answers. In case you want to skip the rambling explanation the questions are bolded.

For our Disneyland trip in Dec their don't really seem to be many specials. I know that DL does less than WDW in terms of offers but this year seems to be less than what has been offered historically. If we don't find a pretty decent special at DLR or GC we'll probably just use my hotel points/miles and stay of property for free. We don't want to book using the miles until we are sure that there won't be a special. How long would you wait to see if they release a special for DLR like the ones they have offered in recent years for this timeframe?

We are thinking about taking some family to WDW next year in either early December or September. Their kids will be 2.75 and 3.75 in September. September will probably have less crowds and could be less expensive but by December both kids will likely be potty trained. At that age even a couple months seem to make a big difference. Would you risk slightly greater crowds in exchange for potty trained kids?

If you need to stay close to MK, how about Kona Cafe? My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner there.

I haven't gotten a real good handle on any patterns for DL discounts. They seem to be a little more random than the WDW offerings. I think Mousesavers.com has historical data on when discounts are offered. If I have time, I'll try and find a link.

Woohoo! I am so envious of your marathon weekend trip. I really wish I could do it again this year. Training runs are much better when you know they are prepping you for Disney.

Awesome plan! Not sure on your Chef Mickey's timing, but it looks like you're planning on breakfast and then heading over to MK? One suggestion I'd make is getting an 11:20 (latest they have I think) breakfast reservation, then going to the park at rope drop and enjoying for a couple hours before walking over to Chef Mickey's for your "breakfast". It's late enough where you can treat it like a lunch, still get all the buffet options, and its usually much less crowded at that time. Also gives you the benefit of being able to ride more rides at MK since you're there at rope drop. We do this every time we go down now.

For dinner at Epcot, I love going to the San Angel Inn. It doesn't always get the highest reviews, but I love the atmosphere and the margaritas! (I enjoy the food too).

I've been looking through mouse-savers and I think in the past couple of years every-time they've had a discount for Dec at DL its been out by now. There is one but I think it's pretty weak. I'll probably give it a couple of weeks and then book something.

I think your right, if free dining is an option in Sept then that makes it a no brainer.

Anaheim has a Great bus system, we used this when we were there in April. As far as WDW, there is no guarantee that the kids will be potty trained by Dec, go when it's cheaper.

I can look at the map and see how close some of the off property hotels are, I know that you don't pay the same penalty for staying off property at DL as you do at WDW, but a part of me can't imagine going to a Disney park and not being wrapped in a Cocoon of Disney Magic the whole time. Part of me would also really like to experience the revamped Disneyland Resort and I'd really like to stay at the Grand California too. Ultimately I think we'll probably use points for most of the trip and then spend our last night at GC.

Wrapped in a Cocoon of Disney Magic. I like it! One afternoon we sat in the lobby of the Grand California, I so want to stay there, and you can just walk right into California Adventure from the hotel on one side and Downtown Disney from the other.

... and if they're still in diapers you don't have to worry about having to make a bathroom run when you're just sitting down for Philharmagic or 2 doom buggys away from being loaded in the HM.

How was that microwaveable lunch??

As far as our logistics on our O'hana day...we don't plan on spending all day at DHS as there aren't too many attractions that my young daughters will be interested (thus the three days at MK!). So I see ourselves coming back to BLT for naps - pooling it for a while and then going to dinner.

I considered LTT for our Friday dinner but we've eaten there before and I was looking for some place new.

Thanks for the suggestion on Chef Mickey's. We may just do it that way! Our first MK day is Tuesday and we'll be meeting up with some family and won't really be able to do our touring plan like we want - so we may start our day off right and do RD on Wednesday.

I'm always down for some good Mexican food...I'll have to check with the ladies and see what they think.

For Fri did you consider 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella, Step Sisters, Prince Charming & Lady Trume) it's a fun time with Great food (home of the Strawberry soup) Try to get a 5pm seating (1st seating) you can get in and out

We did CRT for Lunch last visit and really enjoyed it - thus the reason why we're doing it again.

I don't believe the DW will be into another character dinner (since we are already doing two). I had originally thought about doing Akershus at EPCOT for our Thursday dinner and she overruled me saying that we had too many character dinners.

I told her that I was just trying to please my daughters!
