If any of you make the trip up here - I'd love to have a Dis Dad meet!

Let me know if anyone decides to visit! :thumbsup2

Agreed on Point 1

Congrats on the part..hope good things for the DW. :thumbsup2:cool1:

Yeah, keeping my fingers crossed for her. So far, no word either way.

Awesome! Congrats! :banana::woohoo::cheer2:

You know we are going to need video evidence once the show starts up. :)

There might be some legal issues in getting video of it, but any DisDad and their fam is welcome to come visit and see it in person! We have a large backyard to camp out in, and I only charge a nominal fee for utilities. :thumbsup2

Today was errand day. Everything was going fine until I decided to get a haircut. When I was paying, she asked me if I was a senior citizen. What? First time for that. In the thought bubble, "You Beverly, Peanut Buttering, Beverly." I had already tipped her too.

I guess its time for the rocking chair and AARP card. BEVERLY!

I went to a movie a few years ago with my wife, and on a whim I told the ticket girl 1 adult, 1 senior. And I got the discount. I had barely turned 30!

:cool1: Nice, congrats! Any word on the guy you were competing against? Did he get another part in the play?

Thanks! He hasn't heard anything yet either. I'm thinking the director contacted the principles 1st to see if they were okay with the roles, then he's going to contact the rest, just in case he needs to call in a 2nd or 3rd choice. I dunno. :confused3

Congratulations. Will you be posting pics?

Once we get closer to the performance dates, I'm sure I can get something posted....

congrats on getting the part!:thumbsup2

Congrats Turkey!! Break a leg!

:cool1:Give my regards to Broadway!

Thank you, thank you , thank you!

thats funny, i was thinking it should be a disdad law that the disdads buy the guy hitting the 50 milestone get something from the disdads.:lmao: lets see, maybe stopher and i will except a 4 week trip to the 4 disneys parks in the world, a week at each one!:thumbsup2

Well, that doesn't make sense! Why would we get YOU anything? :confused3:lmao:

Congratulations on the part!

Thanks!

I love Cedar point. Many a summer day riding the awesome coasters up there.

Went to Cedar Point once when I was a teenager. Went on their White water Raftinging ride 6 times in a row. Don't think I could have got any wetter if I was dropped into the middle of the ocean.

I can fix that for you - sit next to me on the Kali River Rapids. Weight shifts on that ride and you end up riding at the bottom of the hill and getting totally soaked. How soaked? My underwear UNDER where I was sitting was soaked.

Thunder Canyon? You get soaked on that ride. The water hurts when it hits you!

The two previous flume rides, White Water Landing and the Mill Race, have both been removed.

But we still have Thunder Canyon, Snake River Falls, and the newest one is Shoot the Rapids.

With water.

Just clarifying...

Thank you for clarifying! :scared:

Wow - small world - I almost bought a house in Bellevue.

I do remember that factory closing up. Yet another blow to our blue collar economy around here!

It's come down now with summer seasonal employment, but at one time more than a few counties around this neck of the woods were over 12% unemployment!

the last time i was there was about 8 years ago and the places were shutting down. there were empty factories all over. the people who worked in the armstrong factory were uaw people. the only auto factory we seen that was working was a ford truck plant. what a shame, it must be a ghost town by now.:sad2:

So after commenting last week about how we never get tornadoes up here in Mass., a couple touch down in western Mass. yesterday and wreak some unbelievable havoc. I'll stop challenging the weather gods I guess.:headache:

There are some factories still going. The Ford plant is still operating...they make headlights for some of the Ford vehicles.

And there is a ball bearing plant here as well.

But, yes, nothing like we used to have.

On an unrelated note, I just got an email from the director. No need for call backs, I got the part of Amos!!!!:woohoo::dance3:
Still waiting to see if DW got a part. I hope she does, it's one of her favorite musicals...I'd feel bad if I got a part and she didn't.

Just saw this on FB! Congrats!!!!

OK Dads - I know some of you guys also hit the beach in Myrtle Beach.

I'm looking for some good ideas for family activities for our trip in 3 weeks. Keep in mind I have two girls under age 4.

We've been there many times in the past....but I'm always looking for successful ideas!

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

Hi fellas, another new Dis dad to the boards. I meet a number of the criteria in the first post, one of which is listening to Disney podcasts. I will add the disdad podcast to my repertoire ASAP.

I did go to WDW on my honeymoon, but got sick. :sad2: I'm convinced it was a reaction to giving up my bachelorhood and not something I ate/did at Disney. ;)

Thanks for the laughs in this thread!

JD

:welcome: I hope you're a speed reader. We blow though these threads in about 3 weeks a piece.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the knowledge. I think I have a handle on the lingo...

I didn't think there was such thing as a nasty coke product. Hmmm...

Check out this thread I started a while back... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2627968

Here's the selection

Isn't it a DisDad Law that when you go on your 50th trip that you have to buy a souvenier for each of the other DisDad members? I'll take a Star Wars Vinylmation or a Pete as Boba Fett action figure! :thumbsup2

1) I second, third, and forth the 50th trip rule. I vote you make that a MANLAW!
Oh, and I'll take some Carmel Popcorn from the Karmel Kuche in Germany.

2) CONGRATS on Chicago - looking forward to seeing the big number on youtube

I'm back!!!! Finally. I got a rash of computer viruses a few weeks back on my work laptop and at home. The home computer is kinda fixed but very slow and not worth while even using. It took over a month to get my work lap top back. Turns out it was fried and they had to get me a new one.

So what have I missed?

What you missed - were your virus updates.

Glad to see the critters are gone.

So after commenting last week about how we never get tornadoes up here in Mass., a couple touch down in western Mass. yesterday and wreak some unbelievable havoc. I'll stop challenging the weather gods I guess.:headache:

Maybe you have to start channeling that power in a more constructive way.
Like - It never rains $100 bills over twokids0204's house.
Come on - worth a shot. :thumbsup2 <---- Big Thumb

What types of things have y’all already gotten into, and what kind of things make your girls happy?

Here are a few of the newer things going on down there…

There are two sections of carney-rides at either end of “Broadway at the Beach” (the original rides, and several of the ones that used to be at The Pavilion before it closed down). There are also a number of shops & restaurants there as well that would be fairly entertaining to a couple of young girls).

Most of the water parks have very good areas set aside for small kids (and they drop the prices by nearly half starting between 2:00 & 3:00 pm).

MB just opened up a new Farris wheel on the Boardwalk along the shore downtown. It’s supposed to be one of the tallest wheels on the South Atlantic coast (includes large, enclosed, air-conditioned cars).

If either they or you are into pirates… The old Dixie Stampede has just finished changing from the original show to one that is based on a POTC theme (called: “Pirates Voyage” I think) that still includes competitions and of course dinner.
