Hey guys....what is the normal operating time for the studios in late November? The Mickey Christmas Party is throwing a wrench into our Nov. plans. My understanding is that you can't see the fireworks in MK on a party night unless you have a ticket for the party??

True. The park closes at 7. You can watch the Hallowishes fireworks from outside MK, beach at GF, etc. What we do is skip the Theme Park ticket and buy a MNSSHP ticket. You can get into MK at 4:00 PM. The party is really cool. Even smaller ride lines, dance party, and trick or treating. Also, the sun sets and it is not at hot.

Against the better judgement of Emma's Dad, I'm Dis Dad member #605!! I've been on the boards for a couple of years, didn't realize you guys were here until recently. It's great to have a 'support' form for us like minded Dis addicts.

Taking the family to AKL for the first time in 3 weeks!! Heavy into our final stretch of research for this trip, hey I have to know what snacks to hit and what to skip.

Don't forget to get a Dole Whip!

The judgement of most here is suspect. As for snacks, Dole Whip and Mickey Ice Cream sandwiches are my favorites. I like the pretzels and beer as well. I don't like the Zebra Domes at AKL, but many say they are terrific.

One was wearing a Viking hat stumbling around and another was wearing a wife beater spraying himself with deodorant while being interviewed.

Wife beater guy was just on again, this time drinking a beer wearing a "wrestling" belt that indicates that he is apparently a world champion beer drinker. I love the Indy 500!

Why do they always have to interview the guys from kentucky during the 500?? We need better border control

When peole from KY leave to visit IN, it raises the IQ of both states. Not sure we can take credit for the origin of the wife beater, but it certainly is its own fashion statement. KY finally has a NASCAR Cup race in June. That should make for some excellent TV watchin.

no, I haven't seen anything since the game, but as much as I hated Jordan, I might have to disagree. Jordan was almost super human on the court...

I am a fan of both, but it's always challenging to compare different players at different positions in different time eras. While Jordan was great, he never had the physical abilities that LeBron does. I think Lebron could check some centers in the NBA. And, LeBrown elevated his game this year, taking those last minute shots and carrying his team. But, until LeBron has multiple championships, I'm not sure you can go to the comparison route. It's not all about championships - anyone want to say Steve Kerr was a better player than LeBron because Kerr has 3 championships - but he does need to win it.

That appears to be true. I think when I'm in the World, the only night that they'll have MSEP and Wishes is going to be on 11/28 and 12/1. Accosrding to touringplans, they aren't even showing MSEP scheduled on the MVMCP days on 11/29 and 11/30, but they do have MSEP scheduled on 12/2 with MVMCP that night.

They're showing Studios hours of 9am - 8pm with Fantasmic on 11/27 and 12/1

It looks like 11/28 will be the day we go. As for the studios we won't be able to stay for Fantasmic, but the Osbourne Family lights are an absolute must.

I would add that Horace Grant was a huge piece as well. They lost the year he left and then had to get Rodman.

Marino had to do it all. Imagine if he had some of the talent around him that Manning has had.

during Marino's days, the Dolphins suffered from the worst defense in the NFL, he had the protection on the offensive line, and could shoot from that pocket like no other, he had some decent recievers (The Marks Brothers) and the team could have been great had they only been able to stop the other side.

Chamberlain would have destroyed Shaq.
The only center that deserves to be mentioned in the same breath with Wilt is Bill Russell. Wilt was every bit as strong as Shaq - in addition to his lower body strength, he had amazing hand strength. He could "pop" a basketball by squeezing it between his hands. And beyond his remarkable strength, Wilt also saw the whole court unlike any center other than Russell (and perhaps Bill Walton). He actually led the league in assists one year.

I would also argue that Wilt actually faced MORE quality true centers than Shaq did. Wilt played in an era when there were far fewer teams, and while the sheer number of quality centers may have been smaller, he didn't get to play the kind of stiffs that Shaq got to pad his stats against every few games. Chamberlain played against Willis Reed, Nate Thurmond, Bill Russell, Zelmo Beatty, Wes Unseld, Elvin Hayes, Walt Bellamy, Lew Alcindor, Clyde Lovellette - a virtual who's who of the NBA Hall of Fame.
