Aaand I'm back.

*AFTER* an epiphany.(sp? I really don't know)

I went to work softball game. I was late because my DS8 had baseball practice that went late. I arrived at softball at 6:18 for a 6:00 game. Yes, I was late. My team is up to bat when I arrive, and "The Skip" says, "Oh, we don't need you. You're too late to play."

Man, I was p*ssed. With 4 kids, and a DW that starts teaching evenings in June, I'm only up to play in 4 of the 12 games anyway, and I'm told to leave. That sucks.

Then I consider the facts: I'm 32 with 4 little ones. 2 guys are OLDER than me with kids that are younger than mine (but fewer of them). The remaining 6 girls and 7 guys are single 20-somethings. So, aside from softball, I don't have anything In common with my teammates.
(*Extrapalating out, I don't have anything in common with my work-mates, either)

Then, my epiphany: Growing up, I didn't look like my dad or mom or brother (see my TR for photos) and had to have my own children so someone would look like me. At work, nothing in common with anyone my age, and the Older associates naturally have older children.

So, why am I upset that I don't have things in common with people that don't have the things I have? A DW that still likes me and has a PhD, 4 munchkins, and 5 trips to WDW under my belt. I really shouldn't be! THEY should be jealous of ME, not the other way around. Now I feel better. Thanks for listening.

Man, I don't know if I agree with your "Skip". I know you were late, but it is still a company softball team. Presumably, it's for fun, exercise, camaraderie, etc. It's not Major League Baseball for goodness sakes. That really just stinks.

LOL, DW saw that picture over my shoulder, and she asked where you could find the Witch. I told her MNNSHP, and she said, "Maaaan, I'd sure like to go to that!"

Guess I'll be pricing Sept/October trips. *facepalm*

TL

I'm evil like that....used my "TemptpeopletogotoDisneyinator"

All seriousness, I thought the MNSSHP was worth it, the Food & Wine wasn't too shabby either

I just got home from my men's league ice hockey game. We were playing the undefeated first place team (We were 2-1 going into the game). This team had dropped down from the upper division and were really tearing up our division through the first few games.

Anyway, they were up 4-0 about 2 minutes into the 3rd period. Our captain decides to shake our lines up and we proceed to score 4 straight goals to tie the game up. With 4:30 left, one of our players takes a 4-minute slashing penalty. We kill the penalty off and regulation ends. We then win the game in a shootout 5-4. It was one of the greatest games I've ever been a part of, except for the part where I got hooked in the groin - although the ref did call a penalty on the other guy for that one.

I think you got it all wrong Bob, I think they are jealous of you:goodvibes, think about it you were the poster guy at the company party, tell me some co workers wern't POd about that:confused3,

I'm not big on sports, but I do contests, raffles, car shows etc. I don't do them to lose:lmao: Most of the time I really don't even try and still win, it gets alot of people mad:mad:

At work they avoid even telling me about contests or raffles anymore, if I find out about them and enter, I hear oh Ron's in it might as well just give him the prize now, and catch alot of attitudes:confused3

I haven't done a car show in the last 3 years now, The big show I did I won 20 years in a row (with 2 different cars) everyone in my class gave me the shoulder, I didn't even hang out by the car, We would walk around the swap meet all day and drink, while everyone else cleaned there car and sucked up to the judges all day, we would win and everyone would give the look:confused3

So look at it like that Bob, They are jealous and afraid of you:goodvibes:cool1:

Awesome! Must have felt really good. (the win, I mean... not the hook to the groin.)

I forgot that the show here in Indy is the same weekend we leave for Disney. They just showed a local news anchor getting a ride with one of the Angels.

The #7 jet, which normally doesn't fly in the shows, is a 2-seater so that's the one celebrities get to ride in. That jet is manned by the Blue Angels' show liason officer and the show announcer (also an officer). I believe they can use that one in a show if there is a major problem with one of the other 6 jets.
They will be in Evansville, IN, during the summer. David had that one on his sked but another crew chief asked if he could have it and David gave it to him. Maybe it will be the guy's "home show" or something.

We sell three Gluten Free Beers at the lcbo, and I carry all three. The one is like $16 a six pack, the other two are a little more reasonable.. It is becomming more and more prevailant though. My niece is on a gluten free diet as well, but this is related to her autism, andmy mom is celiac. I`ve had myself checked out just in case, as I`ve had issues in the past, but I`m good for now.

We bought a case of Red Bridge beer once for my DW, who has celiac disease, and she said it was pretty good. It took her quite a while to polish it off as she's not much of a beer drinker. I'll stick to Yuengling Lager! DW also suffers from migraines so we have to buy nitrate free wines, which are pretty expensive. So, she doesn't drink much! :lmao:

Sounds like they a "clicky" group.. I absolutely hate that! Me being the old man/boss, my guys just abruptly stop talking when I walk up. I recently went through the "man I am getting old" phase. Some of you know what I am referring to. I resigned to the fact that I am who I am, don't like it who cares! I don't need a bunch of people to like me.. I have a family for that! I just need them to do their job!:thumbsup2

Although, reading that last paragraph tells me you've at least got your priorities in order. :thumbsup2

I recall a few threads ago you mentioning an opposing player wanting to throw down the gloves and you basically saying "I'm too old for that Peanut Butter." Well, if ever there was a reason to pull someone's sweater over his head and pummel him until the ref pulled you off, I think we found it. :headache:

So, I've got a new invention!
It's my "Magic Kingdom-inator!"
IMG_0020.jpg

Press the button, and you're wisked away to Main Street USA!
There are some kinks still. Right now, when you press it, it only pulls the Disney Website. (and even that requires a few mouse clicks after pusing the Magic Kingdominator)

I'll keep working on it.

We did the MNSSHP twice now, once was on Halloween:woohoo: The biggest thing my son was scared of was the guys (think they were zombies or something) scraping shovels during the parade (was somekind of dance):scared1:

Next time Holloween falls on a Sunday we will be there:yay: We loved it:cool1:

I thought they were gravediggers, but either way, that's one if my favorite parts of the parade. They have a part where do a sequence with sparks coming off their shovels when they strike the ground. Cool.

It looks like they finished the refurbishments on the Port Orleans French Quarter. Now the rooms have two queen beds instead of two full size beds. :cool1:

I hear they are planning on doing that with the POR and CBR, so all the moderates will have queen size beds.
