Hi, this is scott (who most likely won't figure someone actually calling me this on the dis, so singledad is fine). I am a single dad to one DD. in 19 days we take our 2ed trip to the world as a family, and it is my 5 or 6th trip total. Executive functions, and memory really are not my strong suit. :confused3

3ed shifter, so will most likely be reading and replying in the middle of the night.

Welcome! Third shift may give you an advantage when it comes time for the race to close the thread.

Thanks! I always check a few sites after David has been part of an air show. The best is usually YouTube, of course. Try searching for Blue Angels or the place that had the show (ex. MCAS Beaufort) and then sort for the newest using the relevance feature. The Blue Angels' FB site sometimes has videos, usually posted by the media or the public. I use that site for photos as well as AirShowBuzz.com. I hope to get some good videos and photos at Millville!
I'm glad your son likes the ones I've posted. He could be a future Blue Angel!

I forgot that the show here in Indy is the same weekend we leave for Disney. They just showed a local news anchor getting a ride with one of the Angels.

Yeah, I really want to check out MVMCP, that's my primary reason for wanting to go. DW would kill to go during Halloween time, but that just can't happen with my job. Plus, DD would freak out with all the villains running about.

my main concern, crowd size.]

Actually, you can avoid the villains if it scares her. They are in the parade, but other than that, they are concentrated at the castle for picture several times during the party. You can ride rides, dance party, and trick or treat w/o seeing a villian. We usually go the 2nd week of October. As for crowd size, October is great, even during F&W, especially if you avoid Epcot on weekend. We just went in 1st week of April for Spring Break and had small crowds. Now, it wasn't Easter week, economy is bad, and we only do parks during the week. Sometimes, you just get lucky with crowd size.

True...but the whole point for DW to go to it would be for the villains...you can see my dilemma. :lmao:

Question for you...experienced travelers. If you had your druthers, would you go to WDW in November or December for the Disney Holiday experience? Apart from the Holiday weeks, they're both value season, correct?

Keep in mind, I'm from northern Wisconsin, so cold is a non-issue with us. 40 is still shorts weather as far as I'm concerned. :thumbsup2

TL
All of the Holiday stuff is up by the first week or so of November. The Christmas party starts Nov 8th or so this year. We've been there during the first week of December twice and didn't have too many problems with crowds.

We love going in October. It is my favorite time to go actually!! The Halloween party is great and I think the parade is the best...not scary at all...I give it two thumbs up!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

MVMCP starts before Thanksgiving? I guess since all the retail stores do it, Disney may go ahead and cash in it as well.

Being a guy with an analytical mind, this whole gluten thing with me makes no sense. Before we expunged gluten from our house we used to eat bagels all the time. I don't know of any product with more gluten in it. I could eat those all day with no issues at all. In fact, some days we'd just go to Brugger's Bagels, get a dozen and eat them for lunch and dinner. Great stuff! Now, however, if I have a tiny amount of bread in a container of squash casserole, or if I have some bread crumbs in butter that gets worked into my rice I get violently ill.

That makes NO sense to me.

So, in a test of this, I had chinese take-out today. They use soy sauce in their cooking and that has wheat in it. They use communal woks so the chance for cross contamination is high. I did not, however, have anything specifically made of wheat because, well, I wimped out. I had kung pao chicken. It does have soy sauce in it but I'm not sure if that will really give me enough to get sick. Either way, I feel fine.

So what's the damage here? I don't get this! BAH!

It seems like alot of people have a problem with gluten :confused3 In my frozen food case in the last couple of years we have been adding more & more gluten free items, One thing I can say is they aren't cheap:scared1: a tiny loaf of bread or 4 bagels is $6.

Turkey Lurkey- I have a Record ?, about 25yrs ago I won a record from a radio station when they were switching formats, the record is Meet The Beatles:woohoo: It is stamped in gold letters with a serial# that it is on loan for promotional use only blah blah blah.

I've looked into it on ebay, but have not found one with the promo stuff on the cover, on the back it has a sticker from the radio station, the cover is not perfect (has some wear) but they probably played it alot.

Any idea on what this might be worth (I'm thinking about putting it on ebay since I haven't had a record player in about 10 years now):confused3

The kids get an unexpected day off because of a water line break and how do they celebrate? By getting up earlier than normal :headache:! Can't drag their posteriors out of bed on a school day but today they were up and fighting way too early. :sad2:
I find that most weekends when it's DW's turn to sleep in...they have me up earlier then I usually get up. Even worse, they want to sleep late at DISNEY! But on a normal day? 6am no probs (or earlier)

Dads I need some help. I just realized our ADR for Ohana is at 7:35am instead of 8:35am. MK does not open until 9am will the buses be running at 7am? It has been so long since we have been there I am having a brain fart.
Last year we had a Crystal Palace ADR for 8, and MK opened at 9....we were told there was a Character Meal Bus for like 6:00 and caught it before the sun came up, we got there by sa, 6:30 and sat and waited for an hour and a half in front of MK....if worse comes to worse, I think you'll be okay.

I`d like to ask my dear sweet mudder about this, as she is Celiac, BUT, she is the last person to ask, as she feels she is a qualified expert on the subject, and knows more then some doctors, you get the idea. She cannot have even minute amounts of gleuten, or she reacts bad. Mom is a character, that`s for sure...

We sell three Gluten Free Beers at the lcbo, and I carry all three. The one is like $16 a six pack, the other two are a little more reasonable.. It is becomming more and more prevailant though. My niece is on a gluten free diet as well, but this is related to her autism, andmy mom is celiac. I`ve had myself checked out just in case, as I`ve had issues in the past, but I`m good for now.

I have no idea myself, but a few of the guys I work with played that music when it was new, I can ask them. One's in the hospital right now recovering from surgery, who would probably be THE guy to ask, so I won't get a chance to talk to him for about a week or so. I'll see if I can get an answer for you.

LOL, DW saw that picture over my shoulder, and she asked where you could find the Witch. I told her MNNSHP, and she said, "Maaaan, I'd sure like to go to that!"

Guess I'll be pricing Sept/October trips. *facepalm*

Yeah - Udi's bagels are good but they're really expensive.

My tummy is fighting me now - I may have spoken too soon.

Most people are like that. I get looks from celiac peeps when I go to Wendy's but they have no idea that I'm eating a no-bun burger and cheesy potato. Mmm...

While polishing my mancard I helped my wife with her quilting today. As an artsy-phartsy guy, I have an eye for patterns and colors so my job is organizing the blocks and cutting (and occasionally sewing when my wife gets frustrated with it. Given that I do it to help my wife keep from killing me and the kids, I'm pretty sure that counts as defending my family from attacks so I get to keep the mancard.

Btw, this one is gonna be awesome. The next one is going to be a longhorns baby quilt. :)

Thanks:goodvibes I don't know too much about it but it's got to be worth more then a non promo record, I'm sure a Beatles collecter would probably love to add it to there collection:confused3

We did the MNSSHP twice now, once was on Halloween:woohoo: The biggest thing my son was scared of was the guys (think they were zombies or something) scraping shovels during the parade (was somekind of dance):scared1:

Next time Holloween falls on a Sunday we will be there:yay: We loved it:cool1:
