When we were in VA we ate dinner at Jungle Jims, cool looking place, food was OK (nothing to write home about) but they had something on the menu I've never seen or heard of, Hamburger with Peanut Butter:confused3, Is this just something crazy on the menu or is this common down south:confused3
I first heard about peanut butter on a hamburger when I was reading an article about some old Purdue football player. There was a pub near campus that invented a sandwich for each of the stars of the team. His was a burger with peanut butter. So next time I grilled up burgers, I slathered some PB on mine. Delicious!

It's really tempting to just keep posting until someone interrupts me, but I'm sleepy now, so I'm off to bed. Night guys. Can whoever is up first please put up some coffee? I'm going to need it.
Congrats on the rambling Aaron! From Smurfs to the Princess Bride - very impressive. :thumbsup2

I must admit - now I am hooked - I want to know who had the poisoned goblet of wine.

Is a 2:00 am win, still really a win? :confused3 :lmao:

26 pages left:scared1:

That's right Ownage oh yeah

I am guessing we will be done today.

Why would you quit, in the 17 minutes, you could have ogne at least another whole page. Congrats!

wasn't there a scene in "Twilight Zone" (the movie) with peanut butter on a hamburger?

Hey dads! Hope all is well with everyone! Haven't been on the boards recently so I could spent quality time with my family in Ohio. Now I see I need to go back about 30 pages and get caught up on the happenings. I'm sure there is a new member or two I need to add.

BTW... I finally have the quote back from the print shop for the window decal. Depending on the quantity purchased, we are looking at about $1 a piece. With stamps at $.44, we are looking at $1.50 for the first decal, then $1 for each one after that. Not sure how many I could ship in one envelope... need to get the weight first.

Here is the decal I submitted for the quote. This image is a little larger than actual size as I asked for 3" x 3". I'd be happy to send additional designs for more quotes if anyone has ideas.

Very nice. I will defintiely be getting some. Can you find out if I can get a smaller sized one also, for my fire helmet? Also, can we try a white outline version?

‘Morning all… And ain’t it a lovely day. (Hope I survive it). Anyway…

Peanut butter on a hamburger… Nope. Not a South’n concoction. I suspect you’ll ned to look else where for the genesis of this apparition.

I first heard about peanut butter on a hamburger when I was reading an article about some old Purdue football player. There was a pub near campus that invented a sandwich for each of the stars of the team. His was a burger with peanut butter. So next time I grilled up burgers, I slathered some PB on mine. Mystery solved.

Some time back, I was messing around with a date calculator and figured out exactly how old DW was on the day we got married. I then figured out on what day she would have been married to me as long as she was single. No, I don't know why... But I saved the date in Outlook for curiosity's sake.

That day rolled around today. I decided to buy DW some flowers in celebration of her spending half of her life with me. A friend of hers was over for Dinner tonight so I waited a bit to explain the reason for the flowers (it was fun listening to her and my DDs trying to figure it out though). After explaining it, I wondered what appreciation would come from my romantic gesture.

I got... "You're so Goofy!"

I'll take it! :goofy::rotfl:

Is there a higher compliment for a DisDad let alone any dad? I’ve done similar things with date calculators. I figured out when our 1000 week anniversary was (turns out to be about 19.2ish years) and took my Lovely out to celebrate on that Saturday (the 7000th day). We happened to be in Washington DC, so we were already on an adventure anyway. In practice she ends up calling me Goofy on a regular bases. I usually ask: “Is this something you’re only just now figuring out?” (Of course that’s a question I also get to use when ever she calls me a “turd”, or “big ol’ turkey”, or “stubborn mule”, or clumsy, or even “sweetness”).

Or maybe I am. For I have now completed

OWNAGE PLUS!!!

Thanks for the bed time story. It’s been a while since anyone’s done that for me. :lmao:

I hope you can make it! The air shows are usually quite good! :thumbsup2

I’ll certainly try. :thumbsup2

I’ll be interested in about a dozen if you decide to order them up. I’ll need a stash of ‘em for future vehicles and to offer out to other folks I know as an incentive to join in on the fun around these parts.

alright dad's, I'm back, asking for more prayers. As some of you guys know, I've been looking for work for some time now. Well, a former co-worker (from 12 years ago) contacted me today to set up an interview with his firm. Here's where this particular crowd comes into play, the job is in Orlando!!!!!

I have some experience with theme park architecture, but that was a long time ago when I worked on IOA, however, this firm deals mostly in health care facilities.

Either way, I'm interviewing Wednesday at 1:00pm, so some good thoughts my way would be appreciated.

Wonder if my family will get mad if I stop at DTD for lunch?

I just want to say good luck. We're all counting on you.

Tip: If there is a female interviewer, remember her name !!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Notebook to write down the interviewer's name. ;)

Oh come on, nobody would be that stupid. :sad2:

So I went to check this as well, and as of today, my wife and I have been together for more than half our lives. It isn't quite the exact day, maybe a few extra months, but I might have to get some flowers today. Since my DD is home sick today, I get a free day off. DW doesnt have any time accrued yet at her new job.

I mentioned last week the little woman, or kinda little, uhh little but big, I mean tall hmm that's not coming out right ! Anyway

She is teaching our 1 year old twins baby sign language ( she saw it on tv, or Oprah I think, and bought all the books). I am sure you have heard how that sometimes identical twins can develop their own twin talk, between them. Well, apparently our two have developed their own twin sign talk! They have been walking around the house little arms and hands flailling about trying to tell us things and we can't figure it out, but apparently the other one knows! ! It is very frustrating, it was bad enough that when they did the real signs I would have to go the my wife or one of the older kids to come interprit, but now they are the only two who understand each other ! ! !

This is pretty awesome, from a language learning perspective. I mean, yes, the sign language, but the fact that the twins are developing a consistent language between themselves. I hope you can find a Rosetta stone of some sort to figure out what they are saying; it might give you a lot of insight into what is important to their 1yo selves.

In all seriousness, good luck on the interview.

And as for lunch at DTD, ya gotta eat, right?

Best of Luck :thumbsup2

I would like, as a native Virginian, disavow this dish and all its works. Now, hamburgers with a fried egg on top is the calling card of a dive on The Corner by the University of Virginia, but peanut butter is right out.

Incredibly sweet. Well done, sir. :thumbsup2

I was out sick from work yesterday, but was able to accomplish two things:

1. Got my parents Internet access, and an install date when we'll be there visiting for Easter. My parents are both retiring, and my mom will be losing her Internet access at school. So, we're getting them, as a retirement present, the Internet, the gift that keeps on giving. Or keeps sucking up time. Or both. We also got them an iPad (first edition). My job: get everything set up once the guys get the installation done on the cable modem. Busman's holiday for me.

2. Make a reservation for the wine tasting at Jiko for the Wednesday we'll be at WDW next month.

Triple XXX Family Restaurant in West Lafayette, IN was visited by Guy Fieri on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives a few years ago. It used to be a drive-in and was the first in Indiana. Now it is right on the edge of the Purdue campus and is more of a walk-in. They have sandwiches dedicated to past Purdue players and the story goes that Duane Purvis came in and orderd a burger and asked for peanut butter on it, hence, the Duane Purvis All-American Burger. Personally, my favorite food there was the biscuits and gravy at around 2am on a Friday morning on the walk back to campus from the Neon Cactus. :rolleyes1

I'm sure you scored some points... even if she thinks it is too goofy to admit it.:thumbsup2

Congratulations Aaron. I'm just disappointed that I wasn't around to apply a block. :lmao::rotfl2:

Does anyone else remember that Smurfs episode from childhood - the Smurfs on a long trek, asking, "are we there yet?" and Papa Smurf answering, "Not far now my little Smurfs!"

La la la la la la la lala la la
Love the Smurfs !

Or maybe I am. For I have now completed
