I'll take what's behind Door #3, Monty! :cool1:

We had a good day yesterday. Went down to Eagleville to visit our DGDs Erin and Caitlin in the morning and replaced our deck steps in the afternoon. Today, our newest DGD (Anna Rose) and our DGS (Rider) are coming to our house for a visit along with my brother and his wife. Not a bad weekend!

ownage by mistake!
Went to the zoo yesterday! Philadelphia zoo touts themselves as being the "first zoo in the united states" I was never so disappointed! I am not exaggerating when I say they had maybe 30 animals on display and of those 6 were under vet care!(sick or hurt) I don't think I should be able to count the bones on a rhino! Anyone know where their funding comes from And if they have to be accountable!? Who has been to the zoo where they didn't have an elephant? I am no vet but I could see the ribs of the polar bears!:scared1:
They also combined two or three species in one exhibit!
Anyone know how I can call attention to this without being shot?
My biggest problem with this is one they can't call and complain, they can't get a job to buy their own food, and they didn't ask to be there!

WOW,that's crazy. Is the Zoo run by the city? Maybe can call the Mayor, the Zoo in Providence (which is pretty nice and is under construction and adding a whole polar bear exhibit) is run by the parks ofice?? Gotta feel bad for the animals....:scared1::confused:

Good Morning and congrats to UCONNBUTLER...I HAVE TO SAY GO UCONN!!!

WE are however under the 40 day mark, trying to tweak the dinner resi's and not having much luck...any do the sushi at KONA?

I knew it was cose when i logged on to see my reservation and it was reminding that on May 2 i could do our on-line check in....

Need to add flights to ME? also any suggestions for a "date" night, the kids are going to a kids club......:confused3

Yall are bad influences.:rotfl: In the back of my head I keep thinking I need to help my kids see more of the world, but since in the last 24 hours this thread has prompted me to price out DVC and AP's.

We're just here to "help" :rolleyes1

I made an apointmnet to see a DVC......but my wife doesn't know.....I am not telling her till we get there......:rolleyes1

That is such a shame. I used to love the Philadelphia Zoo. My DW and I were actually contemplating annual passes, but you are certainly making me re-think that. It sounds like we may be looking for some where else to hold the Tri-State DisDads meet.

Shame, shame, shame... Sounds like something I would do ;)

Hey she put me in charge of planning for this trip????:confused3

I have seen some of the posts regarding DVC. In some threads people discuss how it saves them money and others discuss the yearly fees and it sounds extremely expensive. What is the minimum amount for a DVC membership? :surfweb:

We love Le Cellier or dinner in France. France gives some great views of the outside which can add to the atmosphere.

Those are good suggestions in Epcot. If you want alternatives that don't require a park admission, we had a nice date-night dinner at California Grill. I also hear good things about Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge. And the DIS Unplugged crew was raving about Il Mulino at the Swan.

Question for the group,

Has anyone ever bought an annual season pass before? With two trips planned in 12 months, it would save us at least $500 to get a season pass. Plus if we make a detour to Disney during our summer trip to visit my father, we could use the season passes. Am I crazy? Am I starting down a slippery slope?

im ready through what i missed so this topic may be over but the way i did was, take how much the ap was, dvc members and renewals are cheaper, take the length of stay, divid them both into days and see which one was cheaper by the day. we have had aps for awhile. :thumbsup2

dvc isnt the cheapest way to go. i showed my math how much it cost me per year for 40 some odd years. basiclly your paying for your wdw stays for the next 40 years at todays prices. when i bought, it was $56 per point, now its well over $00. people on other threads will fight and argue over if dvc is for them and i dont even get involved. i just sat and did the math, and it was cheaper for us. :thumbsup2 i had some guy a few years ago told me how i should have taken the 17k and put it in the stockmarket and paid for my vacations cash with the money i made in the stockmarket. i havnt seen him on here in years!!! i more than doubled my investment, i wounder how he made out.:lmao:i think min. is 150 points? but, look at a points chart, see what you are going to need per year and go from there.

well, back from hershey for dd dance comp. they did realy well and i found out that was the last comp. ill see her dance at.:sad1: her last one, i have to work. its our inventory and only a death cert. gets you out of inventory.anyway, it was a great 15 years and she did a great job and had alot of fun doing it.:thumbsup2 i didnt know there was a disney store at hershey. dw got me a present before i got there. im now a proud owner of a farting agent P !!!:lmao:

G'morning all and congrats to the Buttler & U-Conn fans (not the way I had it picked, but congrats none the less).

Did any one else get a notice from Disney Destinations saying that they’d had a hacker break into one of their partner’s servers? Apparently all that was compromised was the email address list, but still you may need to be looking out for some fairly nasty spam that might just be masquerading as a Disney offer. I’m just saying. :sad2:

And, as usual, I’ve gotten behind again, so I’ll hit the highlights:

Your DVC discussions had us thinking about it for a bit, but really we should have started a lot earlier. Our boy will be heading off to collage in a couple of years so I’m not so sure that it would help us in the long run. Now, if in a few more years he were to start a family of his own we might have to rethink it once again. :scratchin

Looking forward to listening to the podcast this evening. :woohoo:

Y’all have a great Sunday and I’ll try to get back in here more often (I need to keep my standing as one of the loons toward the top of the post end of thread post count ya’ know:rolleyes1)
