So my DW was reading the boards and saw a December Dad's trip tag on someone's signature. She volunteered that a Dad's only trip would be okay with her... Thoughts?

Well, I guess it is my turn for bad news.

My F-I-L failed his stress test at his checkup - so he has to go in next Wednesday so they can do the dye test to see if he has any clots or blockages. Besides the possible bad implications that could pose, this also means we have no one to watch our kiddos for our couples-only trip we had planned.

So now it looks like we will be doing a family trip to The World this summer instead. DD has been asking every day when she can go back to Cinderella's Castle, so I guess it works out OK in that regard. But, *sniff*, there goes my QVR @ V&A reservation. *Sniff*. Now DW has to make sure we can change the dates on the flight without too big of a penalty.

Actually, I think I will get more enjoyment out of being at WDW with the kids, anyway.

(Maybe I should just start looking for a job in Florida!)

John....so sorry your first adults only trip was cancelled! Hope your FIL is well and everything works out ok.

At least you still get to go this summer....I'm sure your kids appreciate that too!

We’re sailing on the June 26, 5-Night double-dip aboard the Dream. That wouldn’t just happen to be the same cruise of which you speak now would it?

We are doing the June 12, 5 night double dip. We are really looking forward to our first cruise on the Dream and the double dip. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise.

The "big" gathering of Dads last December was by no means a Dads-only trip though. It started with Barry's family trip, and morphed into a whole lot more as more and more dads were commenting that they would be there at or near the same time. A bunch of meets happened, and it was great - but it was more a bunch of family vacations that coincided than anything else. But just think what fun a guys only trip could be. Your DW would be okay with it... so would mine... but many of them DW's in this place most likely wouldn't is my guess.

Just missed each other. We almost had a DisDad meet at sea in the works there. This will be our third as well and we starting to get real excites around here. If you get a chance to post your thoughts on what worked and what to avoided after you get back I’d sure find it helpful (especially copies of the Navigators). I’d offer to do the same for y’all, but you’re going to beat us to the punch. Hope you have a great trip

Hummm… Glad you got it over with, but I’m curious as to what the interview consisted of. I’ve never heard of an employer showing any interest in their staff beyond merely seeing them as a resource to be exploited and discarded.

Well it isn't a large company numerically, but we are spread out between a number of locations all across the country and sister companies under one parent company (5 different sub-companies) - so IT started this initiative about 10 weeks ago so that everyone could feel better connected. I was in the first group of 3 to be "asked" to participate.

I am going to be in the area Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. My schedule is flexible so let me know if any of those days work for you.

Mondays are never good. I'll check and see about Tuesday or Thursday...
