Well, our spring break trip has been booked. The original plan was to spend a few days with my aunt and uncle in Houston. DW called me this morning, saying that maybe instead of flying back home from Houston on a direct flight, that maybe we could get one with a layover. Of 4 nights. In Orlando.

Us too! We went with Comfortaire instead of Sleep Number to avoid the price premium you pay for that mall storefront.

it was a few hundred cheaper than the sleep by number. a good friend of ours has the sleep number, they paid alot more money and i like the way the comfortaire is built better than the sleep by number.

gatorland, i was there when i was a bout 10. the only thing i can remember is the big gator you walk through and the smell!! i remember how bad the place stunk. your not in disney any longer dorthy!

Silly me, I didn't give dates. Houston April 22-27, Florida April 27 - May 1. We don't have any park days or ADRs figured out yet. With that being Easter week, we're already preparing ourselves for crowds, crowds, crowds.

Oh, yeah. We decided to get APs for the trip we just took in December, knowing we'd be back in June and probably a day or two around our cruise in October. We're taking full advantage of those things!

I gotta agree with Tim, Bambi is great! Having a wife who tolerates Disney obsessions is an excellent thing! I'm fortunate to have one as well!

Taking Bambi's lead, my wife has started dropping hints about a Disney wedding for our daughter. She's only 8, but you have to plant those seeds early!

Sorry that we're going to just miss you guys. We're there from April 15-23rd and flying back to do Easter at home.

Hey dads, just popping in. Wanted to let ya'll know that I've uploaded all my video's for our XMas 2009 trip to the FaceBook page, consider it my Video TR. A total of 12 parts, I might pull them down in the future.

This trip was the first trip for my girls, it was over Christmas and something that we re-live through these videos quite often. Maybe you'll get that warm and fuzzy first visit feeling from the video's as well.

I have a few more videos from other trips to Orlando that came later and might post those in the near future, but I wanted to get this set up now because I will be losing internet in the next day or so and might be off line for a few days. Thanks to my phone, I'll be able to keep up with FaceBook but nothing else.

We are in the process of moving into a rental town home nearby while we wait for the outcome of the federal budget business and whether or not the DOJ will life their hiring freeze and we move to Indy. If the freeze is not lifted and the job offer is rescinded then we'll at least be in the same school district. I am closely following the debates on C-Span, not that I really understand what any of this means but feel that I should be paying attention as the result of this affects our future.

Sorry you're having to deal with that uncertainty Oscar. I'm sort of right there with you. A month ago, I'd have said that we'd get at least a Continuing Resolution that would get us through to the debt-ceiling debate. Now, I'm not so sure. I think we're looking at about a 20-25% chance of a shutdown, which could last anywhere from 2-5 weeks. Of course a shutdown would mean an unscheduled, unplanned, unpaid vacation for me. And if it does go five weeks and we don't get back pay in the deal that ends the shutdown, that also means an unplanned, unnegotiated, 10% pay cut. Oh, and this reminds me, I need to double-check what the effect of a shutdown is on my health insurance. I may have to see if we can find a way to get all of our regular prescriptions refilled early, just to be on the safe side.

I'm really trying to stay out of the politics of it, but it would be really nice to see the members of Congress on both sides of the aisle learn to negotiate with one another, instead of posturing for the cameras, and take care of the nation's business. A shutdown isn't good for anyone, regardless of where you stand on the political spectrum.
