STOPHER, dw and i went down last may without dd for our 25th anv., it was a little strange without her along. how did it feel with out the kids along? we went down at least once a year before she was born but it took a few days to get use to just the two of us. i told dw after next june trip, dd starts college and she wont be able to go along as much. just another step in getting old i guess. glad you guys had a good time.

I agree with your statement that it was a little strange without the kids along - but it felt good too. Like we used to do before the kids ever came along. We'd only been to WDW once as a couple before kids, but living 10 mins from DL, we were over there a LOT - often just for dinner during the week, or a little shopping, lunch in the afternoon, whatever. So it was a nice return to those days in a way - but it definitely also helped us to project several years into the future when our trips will start to dwindle from 5 to 4 to 3 then 2 (but of course by then, we'll probably start bringing one or more future DIL's along and eventual grandkids, and perhaps an eventual SIL too, if any of those extras come about)... so we'll see how it all plays out.

Not to worry though, somehow I was able to find a beer or two in the area. Maybe we can get together on a future trip. Lots of activity in different areas around Milwaukee and Chicago in the next year or so.

I work downtown Chicago, but home is right next to Schaumburg so if anyone is staying overnight in the Schaumburg area, let me know and we can meet up. Or if your free during the day downtown Chicago maybe we can meet for lunch, etc.

Someone needs to invent a camera that take pics at night without having to stand still and lets you drink your beer at the same time. I have 100's of pics just like those, everytime we go I say not gonna try this year then BAM 50 pics later maybe and I mean maybe one good picture of the fireworks and castle.

Ahhh Schaumburg - home of the Doorway to Dreams store, and my little quick "fix" now and again. Though the last time I got that fix was actually the new Long Island location last fall. Come about May it'll be time for another quick fix. If I'm headed up that way, I'll be sure to let you know.

Please, no more minivans. I have a Dodge Caravan with 145,000 miles. We can't talk about minivans. Ahhhh

I agree. Let's all go to Aloha Isle and tell them to put it on 450's tab. This is guaranteed to work. No one bother to even post about trying it.

I wanted to share this little beauty that I got while we were in ROARING FORK over at the Wilderness Lodge last week. Not sure how many of you have ever stayed there, but the RF is the counter service location at the WL. We had gone in to check out the menu options for dinner one night, and I saw these. For those of you who've been around awhile, you will just know that I had to snap a picture simply because I am BIG on details, and can regale you with all kinds of tidbits of out there anal Disney trivia. But honestly these were just plain AWESOME. There were 3 of them. I definitely thought of several of my DDC friends when I saw them!
