Does that mean no fish sticks and tomato soup in the cafeteria for lunch today?

QUOTE]

Nope not today...I will get to partake of the burnt offerings that are being served in the cafeteria the rest of the weekend while I am on call ha ha

I just asked my wife how she did it, she didn't remember (did it in Oct), It took her awhile, but was able to change the format somehow:confused3

Sorry I could not be much help.

I figured it out, printed it and took it to Staples and had it spiral bound!! There is a LOT of info there!! Good reading for my DW and I on the way down since we're driving!! I also had a journal and an activity book bound for my DS!!

 I noticed last weekend that someone had run into the back of our minivan and put an 8" hole in the bumper! What really annoys me is that someone would do that kind of damage to someone else's property and not think twice about it. No note left, no apologies, and there is no way that who ever did this could not have known (unless they were talking on a cell phone at the time - which is another sore subject for me :headache: ).

So now, I gotta figure out if I want to fix it or not. I'm sure it'll be $300 or $400 just for a new bumper. Like I said, I wouldn't worry about it if it were my daily driver, but this is DW's daily driver and also the Disney transport system! (LUV DSNY)

On a better note, DW told me on my way out the door this morning that we needed to talk about WDW. :yay::yay::yay: She hasn't mentioned that in a couple of months now!

How long are you there for and where are you staying? We're at AK Kidani from the 17th to the 24th.

Did you ever decide on the stroller thing?

POFQ from the 11th-16th. We are definitely getting the stroller! I think that EVERYONE will be happier for it!

POFQ! Sounds like a future member of the Bob Jackson Fan Club! :woohoo:

I know this is a sad statement but I took down the Christmas lights. What it's only April.

I got the house lights down in January, but skipped taking them off the living Christmas tree in the front yard. With all the snow in February and early March, I just let it stay there. Now I suppose I need to take the lights off the tree...

And for my day:
Me: work work work
text from wife: kids kids work. "Oh, I think we should take the DVC tour in December."
Me: (in my head :hyper:) out loud: "um okay. Why?
DW: "Cause you'd like it"
Me: (in my head):hyper: out loud "okay.":banana::banana:

Plot note: i'm the Disney nut, not her... so for her to bring it up is a big deal.

then i got home, dug her garden, got the kids baths and asleep, and saw on the calendar it was April 1st. I called her on it, and she said was being serious.:woohoo:

Very cool! It took 12 years to finally get DW to come around to my way of thinking on DVC - and ever since then, there was no turning back. We've already added on 3x, and looking at a 4th.

Two years ago my neighbor and I got letters from the homeowners assoc the 3rd week in January saying our Christmas lights needed to come down. I mailed it back with a note that said, "Do you really think Christmas is the only holiday in the world that is celebrated with lights? If you continue to harrass me I will be consulting a lawyer.". I waited until March to take them down and never heard another word about it. We actually considered going out and buying all the extra c9 bulbs when they went on clearance so we could just keep changing the colors as the year went on, red and white for valentines, green and yellow for St Patrick's, red white and blue for the 4th,............

I love messing with the home owners people.

:thumbsup2 I was the president of our HOA for 2 years a couple of years ago. It was a pain at times, especially from jokers who wrote letters like this... :rotfl: Seriously - good job. Stand up to them. I hate many of the rules that our association has, and during my tenure started the ball rolling to get rid of many of the nonsensical, over-reaching rules - like, "no tents are allowed to be set up in any yard"... hello?!?! Give me a break. Sleeping out in the backyard with your kids is an awesome experience. And we had several "enforcement nazis" who just loved to go around telling people when to take their Christmas lights down. I put a stop to that one as well.

I made it to Orlando but I did not do any of the Disney Parks. I had a room paid for for three nights at the Omni at Championsgate and I had free tickets to Universal and Islands of Adventure. We were not going to go and just eat the cost of the room because my wife could not get off of work (we booked the room on priceline and could not cancel). It was my birthday weekend so my son and I, with my wife's approval, packed up and drove 11 hours to Orlando from NC.

We hit the pool and used our free tickets to Universal and Islands of Adventure. Although I did not have the time or money to do any of the Disney parks my son and I went to Downtown Disney and ate at The Earl Of Sandwich. That by far is the best food deal in Disney! Great sandwichs for $5.95! From there we took the bus to the Contemporary Resort so that we could ride the monorail. We rode "Old Bandaid" through EPCOT, took the Ferry to Magic Kingdom, and took a boat to the Wilderness Lodge. From there we rode the bus back to Downtown Disney. We did this to get a litte Disney fix before we left that evening. Sorry this is all jumbled up but I rushing to get to my nephews birthday party.

That's so awesome that you got to do that. Great time together with your son. And even though you didn't get to do the Disney parks, you still had some fun Disney experiences just by riding the OBA and hitting the resorts and DTD. :thumbsup2

Hey Stopher!
I saw in your signature you're going on the 9/1/11 cruise. DW and I were sitting down last night and running the numbers for a cruise. That was one that we were actually looking at! It doesn't look like it will actually happen this year, but what a coincidence that would have been! Evan could have shared his cheese balls with you while we were on the ship! :rotfl2:

Oh man - that would be AWESOME to get some cheese balls from Evan...as long as they were given to me straight from the container, and not from Evan's internal container :rotfl2::lmao: Bummer. That would be fun if we were able to do a DIS Dad's cruise some time. Was it Bambi that put the kibash on it, or you? We will be dealing with the high school schedules next year, so we had to determine which would be the best to do, and that's the one we came up with. He'll only miss a couple of days that way. Going to burn some extra points on it - not really the "best use" as many would argue, but hey, we'll be cruising on the new DREAM for just under $20 per person to cover the $95 tradeout fee, so I'm not opposed to it at all. Perhaps you'll reconsider and be able to after all - if not, bummer, but maybe another time.

Just completed Online Check-in!!! T-Minus 9 days and counting!!

:cool1:

Awesome work on the shirts, guys! This is my favorite design! And the idea for GKTW... priceless!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Yeah... I would have been a skeptic too since it was 4/1!! I'm going to try and get DW in a DVC tour this year :)

Oh yeah Don - you've gotta get her in there to at least look at 'em. We looked way back in '94 on our honeymoon...didn't join until '07, but hey, I dreamed about it for a long time.

If ya can't hit the parks, that was a great way to get your Disney fix! :thumbsup2

Agreed.

Big bummer - but :thumbsup2 on what your wife brought up! :)

Working for a Christian company, I got today off (it's one of our regular company holidays each year). Took the family to the Indianapolis Zoo. We got the membership once again this year after a 4 year break from it. It was a very nice day. Temps in the high 70's, cool breeze, nary a cloud in the sky until around 3is (expecting some rain tomorrow). The kids had a great time, and are looking forward to going back next month when the new Cheetah exhibit opens.

Have a great weekend and Easter guys!

DD and I are going to see "How to Train Your Dragon" tonight (in 3D). I've seen some really good reviews, so I'm looking forward to it (unlike our last movie night - to see "The Chipmunks Squeakwel" - ugh. That was AWFUL).

Oh...Please do not drive to Floriday via I-95 during this time of the year at night! The deer are all over the place! There was blood and deer body parts all over the interstate. They were coming so close to my car! It is really not safe out there right now. I saw two accidents. One of which rwo people died when two vans collided! I believe they were trying to avoid deer.

What you didn't go to the Poly and visit Capt. Cooks for some Dole Whip??? :rolleyes1

Man what a beautiful day we have had here. Records temps! High was 88 degrees...that is more like July 4 instead of Easter Weekend. Got the yard mowed...eggs colored and now headed to the cantata. I am on call the rest of the weekend so I wont get to enjoy any of the egg hunts with the kids or anything. Oh well...maybe next year!

Happy Easter Dads!!

Great to see you got to go down and get your fix:thumbsup2. Happy Birthday! Is your B-day 3/30 too:confused3
Maybe you can make the Dec. trip, It would be great to have you aboard:woohoo:

That's a bummer, Try calling some junkyards to see if they have one, make sure to tell them the color, alot of junkyards also can locate the parts in other yards,so try them first, if you have no luck with that try ebay under cars for parts (most are breaking them up and will sell you what you need) or you can look for it on a internet search. If you can find one the same color close by it will save alot of $, they are not that hard to put on.

Maybe she wants to go on the Dec trip:confused3 Keep us informed:woohoo:

Nice Job:thumbsup2

Something I always do is get a pocket notebook and I cliff- note the list into a short version, I list everything from the list I want to do, tips, things to look for etc. This way I can carry it my back pocket for easy acess:woohoo:

So, today was our last day before a week of break. About 10 this morning, a girl came into the office and came up to me and whispered; "hey Mr. Blockhead, guess where we're going over spring break??" I said, "where." She said "Disney World." I went "really?? That will be a cool vacation." Then, I whispered to her, "guess where I'm going on spring break?" She said, "where?" I said "Disney World." She got all wide eyed and said "really?" I said "yep, sure am." Naturally, she had no idea where they were staying, so I told her that we were staying at Pop and to keep an eye out for us. The cool thing is that since I've been in administration, I've gone to Disney 5 or 6 times. EVERY time down, I've seen multiple kids and families from the school(s) that I've been working at. When I was an elementary school principal, it was always a big deal for the kid to see the principal. They always give me the, "hey, you mean you actually don't live at the school" look. The middle school kids react like, "oh, it's him." It would be one thing if we lived in a large place, but we are a VERY small town, and to actually bump into folks in HUGE World of Disney that are from your small home town is pretty neat.

Lets all sing it...I know your thinking it.

It’s a world of laughter, a world of tears
It’s a world of hopes, and a world of fears
There’s so much that we share that it’s time we’re aware
It’s a small world after all!

It’s a small world after all!
It’s a small world after all!
It’s a small world after all!
It’s a small, small world!

Classic. I hate those homeowners associations as well. What color your drape backings have to be, type of mailbox you can have, etc. You should be able to buy a house and do what you want as long as it isn't painted pink and purple! :scared1:

This. Great idea. Collect the royalties and just have them payout every so often and forward what you collect on to GKTW, as a donation from the Dis Dads' Club. :thumbsup2
That is a great idea for the donation!!!!!! GKTW is a great cause!

Even if it wasn't GKTW, I'm sure that we could come up with a worthy cause.
I don't mind paying the extra 10% or whatever it is. I do not know if it is feasible but maybe the extra can be donated to an organization like Give Kids the World. We get the shirt and someone else benefits.

Thanks for all the great work you did designing it. I want one before my June trip.

I'm in with the charity donation, and inspired by the support shown by our little club...:thumbsup2

Mijo, great job on the shirt, just let us know how to proceed. Maybe we can get an Admin to put a sticky up so the order info doesn't get lost when the Club III thread get's locked? Just an idea...

I have a link to a shirt design in my signature now. Nate will probably do the same as the two designs are slightly different. I might also put a link for a "front only" shirt. I'll probably work on some instructions for personalizing the shirt and put a link for that, too. Thanks! Nate and I enjoyed doing this and, hopefully, we'll be seeing DIS Dad's T shirts at WDW soon!
