Besides a character - would job would you most like to do at WDW and why?

I would want to work on the parking lot tram. Why - I think it cool, since you would be the 1st in the a.m. and the last at night that people come across. All those smiling faces:cloud9:, the plans for the day in the morning or what people did that day at night. The things they hear must be incredible:goodvibes

1. Monorail driver - Thought this was cool when I was 5 - still think it's cool at 42, LOL

2. Boat driver\captain\whatever you want to call it - same as above :lmao:

3. Anything else really - I plan on retiring down there, and getting a job with Disney - even if I'm picking up gum wrappers all day. :rotfl:

Has anyone heard from Nathan (trennr) lately? The last post I remember seeing from him was that he was really sick.

Nathan...drop us a line and let us know how you are doing!

Agreed, hope all is well.

He did say he had H1N1, that could be very nasty, take care buddy.

All, thanks for the advice. My dad and I will definitely be looking for the ESPN when the tournament comes around. Hopefully my Xavier Musketeers play in the early afternoon so we can go there for a lunch break.

I'm seeing too many Steeler fans here, though. :) All I have to say to you guys is WHO DEY! I'm a big Bengals fan, obviously.

This will sound weird, but I always wanted to be one of the guys that is ahead of the parade route - making sure everyone's feet are off the street, etc. I guess being ahead of all the anticipation of the crowds would be cool for some reason. But as others have said, any job would be fine really. I think some day (a LONG ways off of course, when we're old and retired) there will be more than a few of us who might run in to each other in our "new" jobs and hopefully we will reminisce about our "youth" and this club!!

Not sure yet. We can't make the reservations until May 5th (7 months out as it is not our home resort) Is there a way to make sure we actually get the 2 bedroom? I would assume we can put in a request when we make the reservation.

barry, ive never done it, we always stay at okw and we never had a problem getting what we wanted but you can make a cash resi. at anytime for a dvc resort. the cash price is about 40-45 perc off rack rate, they require a one night deposit on a credit card. make the cash resi, they put the one night on a card and when you hit your booking window, change the cash resi over to using your points. they will credit the one night (as long as you do it before there terms) and you got your room. i guy whos dd dances with mine does it.you may want to look in to it this is second hand info. cancell. poli. is 5days up to check in. but i would do asap when your window opens.

The one job that I would love to have at Disney, thats easy ....I would be a Bass Fishing Guide.

You guys have come up with some great jobs. I wonder what the pay is for them. I whould think for the job I picked, parking lot tram driver would pay about $10hr.

A Monorail or Boat Pilot, I would think they make alot more than someone standing at the station.

Imagineer - is it salary with bounus

Jungle cruise pilot - has to pay pay better then collecting fast passes

Voice of Crush at Turtle Talk or Lighting and Sound, you have to interact with what's going on around you.

The one that has me most:confused3 is Glass Blower, is it by the hour, by the piece, salary. Some of that stuff is really big bucks.

When I retire in 8yrs, cleaning up after the animals in AK sounds good. I work in a freezer, depening where I am its +30 to -30, 6 days 48 hrs a week, it really beats you up.

I would like to see more of them, always seems nomatter where we sit or stand at the last second someone tries get in front of you even if you are at the rope. I will give up my spot for a little kid , but not the whole family, I didn't save the spot for them.

Who's with me on this one, your in line for awhile and you hear excuse me, excuse me my familys up there, it took them a half hour to catch up, come on,:confused3 I'm old school you move your feet you lose your seat, that's line cutting back of the line you go! They should make a new job and put people on the outsde of the line to stop this. Biggest offender I found is the GM Test Track.

Ohhhhh... don't get me started on this. This has got to be my biggest peeve when going to any kind of park. :headache::headache: I can feel my blood boiling when I see infractions of line-cutting or parade-cutting. And I don't ever stay quiet... I make sure they know that I know and everyone around me knows... cause when I get up to a CM, I'm sure to let them know what happened. Biggest offenders I see are people not from the USA... seems they don't have to follow the rules or just plain don't understand.:confused3

Just wanted to be the first to say Happy Turkey Day to all the Dis Dads! I think we all know how lucky we are, but it's good to stop and reflect once a year and count all of our blessings.....

Couldn't agree more. Make sure you hug your families and let them know how much they mean to you. :grouphug:

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I think all the transportation jobs are union so they probably have decent pay and good benefits.:thumbsup2
I wonder if they will still let me pilot the monorail when I am in my 90s?:rotfl2:

The retired Dad's Club members working in Disney can start a morning coffee club at the Mcdonalds over by the all-star resorts.:rotfl2:
