The DIS Book Club Discussion Group: Round 7 - Juliet

I'm going to set up a reading schedule tonight. I was thinking of doing it differently than I have in the past, but wasn't sure what everyone preferred. Any input?

How were you thinking of setting up the schedule as compared to the past?

I was debating on either just giving an end date for everyone to be finished by or by just splitting the book in half. I don't want to hold people up or rush people along.

I don't mind deadlines. That way it keeps me on track :goodvibes I should have the book sometime next week.

I've been looking for a book club to join. This is fantastic. Disney fans and books! :goodvibes Can't wait!

I'm so excited to read this as part of the book club. I bought it for my Kindle back in September because Amazon was selling it on special for $2.39. I totally forgot about that until this thread. Can't wait to start!

I just downloaded it for kindle too.

As for reading schedules - I don't typically follow the schedule but I do like knowing when things are safe to post and not considered spoilers and the reading schedule helps with that.

Very good point about the spoilers! I tend to run either ahead of or behind the schedule. Knowing the schedule helps me keep from either reading spoilers or posting spoilers. :)

I'm a very fast reader, but my free time seems to just evaporate. Give me five minutes, and I'll be behind! My mother always had this expression, "The farther I go, the behinder I get." Bear in mind, my mother was one who always used perfect grammar, so this was always funny coming out of her mouth. She talked about how the older she got, the more things seems to get difficult to accomplish in a timely manner. I have truly begun to understand what she meant!

I'm glad there's a schedule now, though, so at least I have some idea just how far behinder I am!

I want to join in but my library doesn't have a copy of it yet :( When will the next book be announced?

I started reading it while on the Dream last week. So far so good. Didn't make the first deadline but shooting for the 2nd one. :goodvibes

I'm in! I'll get started on it when I finally get home after my Coast-to-Coast week with the WDW Princess Half-Marathon and the Dis Girls-Only DLR trip. Shouldn't take too long to get caught up. Thanks Nikki!

:scared1: I'm behind already! I haven't started reading it yet but I do have it in my possession so that's a start!

Here is my excuse:

A new Disney junkie was born! Leandrew Robin Tolliver was born on 2/19/11 at 1:26 p.m. 7lbs 1oz!

Congratulations on the new addition!

I haven't even started reading yet. So I am behind and I don't have an excuse.

Precious!!!

Just join us when you can. :) The next book won't be announced until after we are finished with this one.

Don't stress on keeping with the deadlines everyone. I am a teacher and find it very difficult to read as it is because of work. I just posted it as a guideline! :) What's everyone think so far?

I am surprised by how much I am enjoying this book. I'm not too sure yet where the story in the current timeline is going, but I'm finding it intriguing. I am also enjoying the "true" story of Romeo and Juliet set in the past.

This is the first book I am reading on my new Kindle. What a great device! Plus, when Kevin talked about the Kindle application for the iPhone on the 02/18 podcast it opened a whole new reading world for me. Imagine being able to read your book on your phone exactly where you left off on your Kindle. It's like living in a Star Trek world!

I normally read "free" books on my kindle or books that DH has purchased (murder mysteries). I've never been part of a book club but looked it up when Nikki posted what it would be and decided to give it a try. I am really enjoying the book. I like the switch between the current day and the past Romeo and Juliet.

Giving up. I'm 23% into it on kindle and I really don't like it at all. Characters seem flat and I really just feel annoyed every time I try to read.

I'm glad the rest of you are enjoying it!
