There was no availability at all, so I purchased it last night.

Looking forward to it - whenever I make the top of the list for the library! (It's the little things - not picking up books at Borders all the time goes a long way toward funding Disney vacations!) This is also the August selection for the Real Simple online book club, so I'll get lots of good discussions on this one. Woo!

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
Bender, Aimee.
New York : Doubleday, 2010.
No copies currently available. (Estimated wait is 268 days)
Opted to "listen" and not to "read" the book, as the actual book had 69 people waiting for it!!!
Looks like a great book. I love books that start out in the main character's childhood!

I'm hoping to get the reading schedule up in a little bit. Go ahead and start reading if you haven't already.![]()
I'm currently listening to this book. Can I just say that authors should not read their own books?Hire an actor. I am forever re-phrasing in my mnd.
The story is interesting, albeit it a bit out there as the book progresses. Aimee Bender writes with a beautiful turn of phrase. It's like looking at a beautiful but perplexingly impossible painting. What does it mean??? (LOL, it's a rhetorical question, as that is what we will be discussing.)
I'm about 3/4 through and things get clearer and odder as it continues. I like that I don't have a concrete take on how this book will end up.
