the dining plan wth DVC

I know that DVC can now purchase dining plan but are there anytimes they have "specials" on the dining plan. I mean non DVC'ers get free dining at different times throughout the yeardoes DVC's get a reduced price? I have not purchased DVC yet but with this is one thing to consider. I know not the same rooms etc it's just something to consider

No "free" dining, but with DVC you don't have to pay rack rate for a room and purchase a theme park ticket.

And don't assume that this is a perk that Disney is going to continue to offer, especially in its current format. They've tweaked it several times over the past couple of years and many people believe that, with the rollout of the counter service dining plan (don't remember what it's called), THAT may be what Disney eventually offers as "free dining."

Nothing is "free". Disney does a excellent job of marketing buy offering a "deal" during slow times of the year to keep the resorts and parks full.

To get the "free" dining you must book a package that includes a resort room at rack rate. Since DVC members do not pay anything close to rack rate for their accommodations (when figured over the course of their membership) we are not eligible for "free" dining. Guests using an AP, AAA or other type of discount for their room are also not eligible for the "free" dining.
