The difference between genius and insanity

The difference between genius and insanity is the degree of acceptance which you receive. That said, perhaps I can some "acceptance" here and convince myself I'm not (terribly) insane.

I am in Birmingham on a business trip. Turns out I cannot get home until Saturday and then I have to turn and burn out to NYC 15 hours later. So my thinking was that since I'm not really going to home long enough to make it worth my while....

I checked Southwest and found a cheap flight to Orlando and a cheaper one to NYC on Sunday. Called CRO and found ASMu has some relatively inexpensive rooms available.

So, a couple phone calls later and I'll be at Orlando around 8PM, leaving Sunday afternoon.

A last minute weekend trip just because I was reading the DISboards this week which triggered some withdrawal symptoms.

So please tell me I'm not crazy and you wish you too were in a position to do this and how brilliant it is to make the most of an otherwise bad weekend.

I can't tell you you aren't a little insane, but I can tell you that I would have done the same thing.

You are definitely genius for booking a last minute trip... and insanely crazy for Disney!! ..But who isn't insane when it comes to Disney on this board!

Oh, you're definitely insane but there's nothing wrong with that. I've been known to do similar things, though I can, and will, drive to the world and back in a day. Some of my favorite trips have been the last minute ones where I had no planning, no idea where I was going, and no idea what I was going to do when I go there. Sounds like you found a way to flip that frown .

Not sure what kind of tickets you have but MK is open til 10:00pm and they all open at 9:00am on Sunday morning so you don't need to worry about EMH crowds. If you aren't planning on going to a park, see if there are any opening for horseback riding or resort hop around the monorail loop. Have you started collecting Transportation cards? Ask the CMs at the buses, the monorails, and ferry for them. No matter what, have fun on your trip!
