The Diana Special...

I don't think that any of this is news to the boys. I'm sure that they've heard all of the gossip and are well aware of the book too. And what about Prince Charles carrying on with Camilla for all of those years?

I agree that enough it enough. Let an admirable lady rest in peace.

ITA. It was not a marraige made in heaven, but, who are we to judge?

Oh sure. I'm going to go to my children and say, "Hey, guess what! Your father is a cheat and a louse and guess what else, he did it with my best friend!"

Well, I hope your children don't access the DIS and know you are CRB#33, or stand behind you looking at the monitor when you on the DIS, because they will find out here!

If more than one person knows something, its no longer a secret. And you just shared yours with 60,000plus DISers.

No. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to be the one that the children, if they ever do find out, will have respect for. That I never bad mouthed their father and I made sure that they loved him unconditionally. That I left him and I made the best possible life for them with him included.

He can tell them if he wants.

I didn't attack her for caring! Do you really think GG gives two hoots about my children? If you really care GG, then I apologize, but I thought you couldn't stand children.

And don't you dare tell me I don't care. I've ripped myself apart over the welfare of my children. You have no idea.

Now, I know Diana loved her children more than anything. But revenge is never sweet. And that's because it doesn't change a thing. It creates bitterness and agony.

What must those two boys be going through to hear their mother?

My comments were not directed at you, the mother. I was commenting on: regardless of how great a dad their father is, if/when the truth comes out, the resentment will come, not at you, but at him. The fact that you did not rat on the guy will show an amazing amount of character on your part. I hate it when one parent plays the kid against the other.

As to GG, I think way deep down there is a huge amount of caring in her. I also feel this is one of the times it peeked out.

And, I am sure you care deeply, what I said (and not well, apparently) is that if you don't care what GG said, why bother to repeat yourself.

I am truly sorry you mistook what I said.

My children are with their father this weekend. I have locks and passwords all over the place on this computer.

I'm sure not all 60,000 people will read this thread.

My name is so clear as to who I am. Those initials have nothing to do with me. They are random

Only the biggest jerk in the earth would tell a child something bad about their parent.

And lastly, you're not worth getting banned over, so I'm not coming back to this thread.

Ah, did you think that perhaps, if your kids were ever to read the board, that your countdown might give them a clue? Not an attack, just a thought.

GG,
Give it up, badgering someone will never change their mind, and I think she is doing just fine.

Back to the original topic...... I think Diana used extemely bad judgement making these tapes.

Her "friend" who recorded them is no friend. Seeing the Author of the book thru this interview ,with that smirk pasted on his face ,made me so mad. And to think Jane Pauley would be the host for this garbage, really pulls her rank as a jounrnalist into the bottom of the heap of tabloid exploiterists.

The fact that both Prince Charles and Diana used their affairs with otheres as weapons against each other, makes them very bad parents. But in England, it's the nannies and boarding schools who really raise the upper class kids. It's a wonder the princes don't grow up scarred from all this mess.

In spite of tabloids, tapes or t.v. specials William and Harry know their parent's better then anyone else.

I didn't watch the show but I had read part of the book several years ago. I didn't like it then and I think its now old news.

Perhaps I am being a bit unsympathetic here but it is hard to feel sorry for her with all she did have--money,travel,respect,admiration and her own collection of boyfriends. There are millions of women who are in unhappy marriages that can't escape into their fancy lives. That said, I wish the gossip group would let Diana rest_____

You really had to watch it though. You really can't grasp the depths of her dispair. The bulimia, and the infidelity. It was heartbreaking, what she went through. I feel sorry for her.

I guess she would have wanted the public to know the truth!:D

Personally, I didn't like the women when she was alive, and nothing I've read or seen about her since has altered that view!!!

Elmosmom is right - this was a woman who had EVERYTHING - she was also a woman with serious mental health issues - eating disorders, depression and paranoia to name but three! The problem is that she used her 'shy' act and knew exactly how to convince the public that she was a completely innocent little lamb in a cage of lions. She was very good at manipulating the press to support her - don't listen to the rot about how they 'hounded' her - there have been several former 'friends' who have admitted over here that she often 'planned' press contact - then moaned about it being intrusive.

She was a lady with BIG problems - but the majority of them existed only in her own head!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think it is only too easily forgotten that she, too, broke her marriage vows. I think they were every bit as bad as each other in their own way. Its just a shame that their children got caught up in it all - and continue to do so.

Yeah, she did but it was YEARS after he'd been carrying on with Camilla. Not exactly the same as what Charles was doing IMHO. The marriage was doomed from the beginning with the way Charles went into that marriage not even being able to say he loved her at their engagement announcement and then carrying on with Camilla from the start.

Yes, but two wrongs do not make a right. And, they BOTH broke their marriage vows but as far as I recall, she was the one who went on TV first and flaunted what she had done. What Charles done was wrong, but he didn't flaunt it as publicly as she did. She was nowhere near as naive as the press now try to portray. Her popularity was on the wane when she died - people had begun to see her for what she was. I was at a school in Essex where my niece attended. Diana totally ignored the children until the press start taking photos and was then all over them like a rash.

I personally believe that she knew exactly what she was going into when she married Charles. Don't forget she lived with the Queen Mother for the months leading up to the wedding and was groomed to take up royal office. She knew. Its no use whining about it after the fact. She also admits to knowing about Charles and Camilla before the wedding took place. Why did she not bow out then? I say because she knew what side her bread was buttered.

However, I respect your opinion but I think we saw a lot more of the "real" Diana in England than was shown in the international press.
