The dealbreaker

We most likely will never go during spring break time.

We'd really love to do a Christmas season there, but my husband and I both work retail and time off for vacation at that point is a big no-no for us (especially since I'm an assistant manager).

I would go anytime I have a chance! Since I'm a teacher its either, Summer, Sprink Break, or Christmas.

When I retire I'd love to visit in the fall and early December.

No dealbreaker though!

we always take vacation labor day week, most kids are in school, and we dont have any.... so I dont mind unusual or possibly bad weather.

any time away from work is vacation to me!
60 days to go!

Month of February
Month of April
Christmas to New Year's week

365 days a year there is no day I would not go to Disney. However, with school we have no choice but to go in the Summer, but I would rather be in Disney with the heat and the crowds than anywhere else. :cool1:

The dealbreaker for me is school. I refuse to pull my son out of school in order to go to WDW.

As a result, we only visit during school break. Lucky for us, NYC public school's vacations fall during each of disney's seasons.

This allows us to vacation during value season without missing any days from school. :cloud9:

Our deciding factors were heat and crowd level. I avoid the Southern states in the summer - I just can't do the heat!! I've been to FL 2X during summer and nearly died. Anyway, with kids especially, I also like the non-peak times. We lived 15 min outside of Williamsburg for 7 years and had Busch season passes. If we went during the summer it was during the week in the evening. We loved Sept and October because the crowds were low and it was nice weather for rollercoasters.

We won't go between June-August because it is so darn hot we spend more time in the room cooing off then in the parks having fun!

We don't go June - August. I can handle either heat or crowds but not both!

Although I sometimes get tempted, the dealbreaker for us is weather. We just won't go May-September. Big crowds aren't my fave either, but I can handle crowds better than I can handle melting. Heaven help us when the kids get a bit older and it's not so easy for then to miss 3-4 days of school!

That's exactly how I feel. I just melt in the heat...but I'm sure at some point, we'll need to consider school vacations or summer as our time to visit. I console myself saying we'll do less on each day and just make it a longer trip! :goodvibes

We usually get an annual pass and go December, then April/May and October/November the next year on the AP. We avoid going in the really hot months or super crowded times of the year. I know we'd enjoy it, (it is Disney World after all)- just not NEAR as much as we do with much less crowds and heat. Plus, we get to see all of the 'BIG' events throughout the year.

I do find that the more often we go, the less we feel we absolutlely must do. So even if it is crowded (or hot), if we do a few favorites each day, mixed in with some lovely meals with great atmosphere, then we're good to go. Anyone else feel a lessening of time crunch pressure with each new visit?

Crowds are my dealbreaker. They make me very anxious, so I have to go during slower periods (and even then a mid-day break is a MUST for me- it lets me destress AND helps me miss the most crowded part of the day). So, no Spring Break/Easter, high level summer, long school holidays, or Christmas/New Years.

I thought the heat would be a dealbreaker for me, too.. I'm VERY sensitive to heat and sun (pale, pale lady that I am), so we'd completely avoided trips where the weather would be too warm-- BUT free dining won us over. At least the parks shouldn't be too crowded.

My DH and I always go in September. We made the mistake 20 years ago of going in July. Never again. It wasnt the heat either, it was the crowds. This was all before Fastpass. So you can imagine the lines for rides. And don't even get me started about the people trying to cut the lines back then. My DH never let anyone cut the line. Good thing he is football player size. (6'3" and 265) You don't get much argument there. :rolleyes1

No heat/humidity, no crowds. I have the luxury of picking when I get to go (no kids, flexible work schedule, etc.) so I like to go in October. Still warm enough to swim, but not as hot and humid and the crowds are light. I was there during Hurricane Wilma last year, and since we only got the "fringes" of the storm, it hardly slowed us down at all!

Heat, crowds, no pet policy !!!

That's why we go to Fort Wilderness in our RV in October, January and for the first time this year, the first two weeks of December !!!!!

Hollie the Yorkie is going to see the Mouse !!!!

Oh, she is so cute! Have fun!

My husband has been wanting to try Fort Wilderness again, he hasn't stayed there since he was a kid.

Wow I must be the opposite of most people. I will not go if I have to wear jeans or sweatshirts. I prefer florida to be hot. I like to go swimming in the afternoon or evening, and I LOVE to do the water parks (I wouldn't do them in cold weather even if the water IS heated). I just wish there was a 'down' season in the hot weather. We'll see this year, we're going in September.

tricia.

This is the 3rd time we go around Labor Day, the weather is not as hot & humid as here and the crowds are less intense. Hurricane or no hurricane, this is the best time of year for us.

Cons: DD has to be take out of school for a week she starts 6th grade this fall.

I won't go in June, July or Aug. (not that we could go in Aug any way, I start back at school the 3rd of aug). Both my dh and I teach so for us that leaves the end of May, Thanksgiving break, Christmas break or Spring Break. I live in MS and some days just regular running of errands wear you out in the heat, I don't want to tour the parks in this heat.
