She just won't tell you how excited SHE gets. Calling and waving to the character no matter where we are. Especially Mickey. She tells him that they are married now since he proposed to her last time she went :rotfl:

answered wrong post. Ooops. I gotta go to bed....

Maybe we need to form a scrappers motivation thread for those of us that don't ever get to it. We could get motivation and support from others like we get on the weight loss thread. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: Great idea. I'm still working on baby pictures, from my second one. :teeth:

Okay this is really testing my memory...I just went searching for it and my oldest says "I just threw it away a couple of weeks ago". It was a black barreled marker with white writing on it. If you give me a couple of days I can check at the store and find out the brand. Can't go tommorow have to watch the Broncos play (I am a horrible Broncos fan(I root for whichever team is actually playing better)).

So I can find out Sunday for you!!
Thanks. Good luck on the games.

I think it has gotten out of control everywhere....Our school district here in CO...with one of the lowest dropout rates in the country also just got stricter....it is one week of absences...excused or unexcused and you are in trouble. Family trips now count as unexcused no matter the circumstance :sad1: . It all comes down to funding the state pays for each students hienie in a chair and they have a convoluted system that they can pay less if the child is out of school for more than a week. Ah government!!

It can get way out of hand - we missed school a few times as kids to go to Disney and never did us any harm. We have a big problem with truancy in this country and if your kid truants the parents can actually get a big fine and a prison sentence  Not sure how they deal with holidays in term time now that law has been introduced.

Has anyone ever sold or bought as gift card on ebay? I got a $100 gc to a makeup/fragrance store as a thank you gift from one of the guys I work with. I don't wear makeup and perfume gives me a headache. I can't figure out what to spend the money on. I'm thinking of trying to sell it on ebay but have only been a buyer before. Any suggestions of what to do?

Thanks!!
How about spending it on gifts for some other people - for xmas say and then use the money you've saved yourself to go buy something from another shop?

OK. My DD17 loves Tinkerbell. It is her connection to my father who died 8 years ago in a car accident. He used to call her Tink and started her Tinkerbell collection shortly before we lost him. Last year, I called WDW to see if we could get Tink's autograph. Now, I know that she can't see Tink except during Wishes and so does she. I was told that we could take her book to Guest Services at Magic Kingdom and they could get Tink to sign it. However, when we got there, we were told that we were given incorrect information. She was devestated.

I would like to do something to get this so important autograph. Any ideas? I've thought about just signing it myself somehow while she is out and wait until she finds it. We'd then tell her that Tink must have snuck in while we were sleeping. I've also thought about doing something like having mousekeeping leave her an envelope on her pillow with pixie dust and Tink's autograph. I thought you creative people might have some ideas. Thanks in advance. Anyone have an idea how Tink's autograph should look?

She wants to suggest to Disney that Tinkerbell should have a couple days a year that she magically gets enlarged to normal size. Kind of like in the Robin Williams version of Peter Pan when Julia Roberts Tinkerbell makes herself Peter's size. The kids would be told that it is special magic that can't be used all the time. This way those that really love Tinkerbell could meet her in person.

I have it! - well I can show you what it looks like.

My BIL bought us a signed Disney print for our wedding and I was just hanging it on the wall and looking at the signatures - then I thought - is tink on here - she's in the picture - and sure enough there is the signature!

I've taken some photos and I'm just going to get them off the camera and load htem up to show you :goodvibes

Clare, those are ADORABLE! Thanks for putting that link in your signature, I looked through them! Great job :goodvibes I can't wait to go back with just DH..... my family was so not into waiting in line for the characters! :confused3

I haver never stood in line before - well maybe a couple of times when I was a kid for a photo but never for autographs - I made the book and then felt a bit silly when i got to the parks so I wasn't going to do it but DH forced me in the line with the book in my hand and I was so glad because I had a blast! He was seeking out the characters for me - especially in our last week when it was just us two and we were chilling out.

I have to say though that I liked the characters in suits best - as they can't speak! I met Mary (my hero) and was soo emabarrased at having to talk to her! I'm just too shy for my own good

Like a mailman...neither rain, or sleet, snow, fog or hail was going to stop me...and that's exactly what I drove through today to see the grandbaby. He's cute as a button...hope everyone had a good day. Off to go drink a glass a wine. My knuckles still hurt from gripping the steering wheel. ::yes::

Kristine -- what a great picture -- thanks for posting!

Clare, Kate and Kadaten: what wonderful autograph pages. I should be ashamed that I don't do that for my kids. I have tons of supplies and a mother with a scrapbook store, but there just aren't enough hours in the week. I could give up DIS, but that would only be an hour or so a day and I couldn't begin to get anything organized to start in that time. Plus, I need my DIS.

Don't be ashamed - just hook up your printer and print out my pages - buy a clip board and some sharpies and you're done! Then when you get home from your trip pop them in the photoalbum with your other snaps ::yes::

Okay heres a question for all of you that have made autograph books how many signatures did you end up getting.

I just got my book out and counted - 17 - I didn't think it was that many! Now I could have got a lot more but we were a group of adults - no kids - and I only got signatures where there were no lines - if you have kids and don't mind lining up you'd get loads more - and I didn't do any character breakfasts/dinners either.

If we do go again in November I'll just take the book and get some more signatures - I'll call it a work in progress :goodvibes

I have the same question. How many autographs do you normally get. When we went in 2000 we did not get many maybe 10.

I printed out Clares pages. Thanks Clare they are absolutely wonderful. I am adding the power rangers and jojo is I can figure out how to do this.

Clare if you have time please let me know how to make the page. I have the clip art for the power rangers just could not figure out how to put them on a page and add a border.
I made them in photoimpact - I made an image 6x4 then copied in the clip art and resized it - then I used the text tool to write the name. If I made my own borders I would use the text tool four times - one for each edge - or I used the stamp tool and just stamped something round the edges - or I cheated altogether and selected the frame option from the right hand toolbar and just picked a frame that I liked - there are heaps of colours and designs there.

let us know how you get on :goodvibes

I Just thought of something!

When I go in December, the 50th anniversary celebration will be over. No more golden ears! I wonder if they will take the gold off the castle???

What is the theme of this year? What's new for October? :chat: :chat:

Hadn't thought about that - when does the celebration end - fingers crossed we'll be there from November...

Doh - just read Steffy's post again and she actually says October :rotfl:

ETA - and Bob's your uncle Clare makes a fool of herself in public again :rolleyes1:
