I also came up with this letter to send with it. If I had past and next trip dates I could make it more personal, but since Kristine's not on I don't have the info and need to get to the post office by 5 PM.

What do you think? Should I make any changes to the letter?

Deb
Wow!.... Those look great! The letter sounds great to me also. I am sure my little one would wear something if Cinderella herself recommended it. ::yes::

I do have a question for everyone though...do your kids seem unnaturaly warm natured? In my family I was always the last one to get cold. My mom can wear jeans and a sweatshirt when it's 80 degrees and be happy. Now we have our heat set at 70 degrees. Whether it is 20 or 45 outside we seem to have drafts in our 100+yo apartment house. In jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt I range from comfortable to a little chilly. Terra on the other hand ranges from naked to barely dressed and doesn't seem mind the temp. I offer clothes and ask if she's warm enough and usually she tells me that she's fine. Plus, to the touch her skin feels warm. Anyone else's little ones like this?

All the girls in my house are like this (except my Grandma). I have teased Jim that he will want to go out into the snow to warm up when I get hot flashes.
My girls spent the first part of their lives in MT where it is a tad colder than here in CO. But we are often in shorts/ short sleeves in 60 degree weather.

Hey, everyone, I've got FABULOUS news! DH and I were talking last night and he is finally realizing that I'm totally serious about the half marathon. Anyway, he said, "If you're really planning on doing this, let's do it right. We'll celebrate your 40th birthday while we're there." Hooray! He actually is letting me start planning!

So, I'm turning to you, my DDA family for advice and suggestions. I need recommendations on where to stay (remember I'm a newbie, so the abbreviations go over my head), where to eat, how soon to make ressies, etc. Also, this is a very budget trip. We're still paying off my surgery, so we need to be a bit frugal. We'd love to stay onsite if it's affordable, but will go offsite if need be.

I want to start making a list of places to eat that you all consider "must do's." So, jump right in, I'm creating a file for all the great info you are going to be sending my way.

I'm so excited!!!!!

Wow that is great news! The value resorts are the least expensive way to go. I have stayed in both the movies & music & had a great time.

Advance dining reservations can be made 180 days in advance. Some places we love to dine at are Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's for meeting the characters, & Crystal palace (pooh & friends & a good buffet)

Good luck!!! :goodvibes

I LOVE IT! You are one incredible woman, Deb! I think she will totally flip out when she reads this letter and finds out that Cinderella cares about her eyes. Nice touch about seeing her in her beautiful glasses! I don't think you should make any changes.

By the way, the patches are so cute. Looks like Colby likes them, too!

You are awesome!!!!!!!

YAY, GLYNIS!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Now, I can give you my long-winded analysis of WDW! :rotfl:

How many days do you think you guys will stay? With/without the kiddos? This will give us all a place to start inundating you with ideas!

As for restaurants - my current "must dos" are California Grill at the Contemporary (book a seat during Wishes), Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner, and usually Le Cellier at Epcot in the World Showcase (Canada). We also have started going to Beaches & Cream at the Yacht and Beach Club every trip (burgers, outstanding ice cream), but they don't take ADR's (Advanced Dining Reservations - used to be Priority Seatings).

This will probably have to be a "quickie" trip. After the marathon, we'll probably stay 4 days to do the parks. This will definitely be without kids. They will all (all 4, hooray!) be in school and staying with cousins. So, this will really be a grown up trip for us!

All right I need help!!

Being sick and swamped at work made my 180 day window to make ADR's come and go SOOOO.....

I need help figuring out where to eat. We will be spending my 35th birthday in the World...July 5th through the 12th or 13th. It is the first time to WDW for my girls and almost 20 years for my husband and I(we were there at the same time with our families right before AK opened) so I have no idea where to eat.

Thanks in Advance

Theresa

We keep the house at 67 degrees and I am usually in fleece slippers and a fleece overshirt. The boys are always running around in their underwear and don't understand how I could possibly be cold. Must be nice to be young.

Deb
i was at my parents house over christmas break and they had the temp at 68 and i was freezing. nevermind the temp outside was 80. i was still in a sweatshirt. lol

Oh if you are going without the kids then I would suggest all above & maybe Narcooses, Wolfgang Puck, Blue Zoo at the Dolphin, & dinner in France...romantic! Again, congrats, what a nice get away!

Deb,
They look great. And what a nice letter. Poor Colby, I can see his scar, but it looks like it is in a good place and should heal up nicely.

Check out this website..it gives you menu listings so you can see what you like. I used the menus to plan out our meals & it was very helpful. ::yes::

I would call as soon as you can as that's a busy time and some places may be getting full. How old are your girls? If they like princesses and CRT is full, I know there is 2 other princess meals 1 at GF, might be 1900 Park Faire(SP?) and other at Akershus in Norway. Chef Mickey's is popular and a lot of fun. Now, my family is partial to Winnie the Pooh and gang, so we love CP. There are some other character meals but they seem to be hit and miss as far as reviews, some good and some bad. :confused3

My boys loved the Sci-Fi Dine In. So did DH. ::yes:: I have heard great things about 50's Prime Time and want to try it out our next trip.

on the regular - it is 7 days for a DVC AP

10 day park hopper no expire 410 regular AP - 441
7 day park hopper no expire 329 DVC AP 335

Tammi - this is assuming that you would want park hopper and no expiration - I don't think you can buy more than 10 days on a ticket

Kate - these are the prices that I pulled off Disney's website and they are different that what you have. What have I done wrong??

7 day 204
7 day park hopper 236
7 day park hopper no expiration 301

10 day 210
10 day park hopper 242
10 day park hopper no expiration 377

Adult annual pass 415
Adult annual pass w/DVC discount 315

None of these prices include the premium tickets (waterparks and Disney Quest). Is the difference because yours was premium??

If you are planning on doing a real budget trip, I would say Pop Century for resort. I don't know if I would recommend the dining plan, since you probably don't eat a lot yet. With the size of their portions, you and DH would be able to share meals. But that is beside the point. It is a good deal if you would be eating "normally." Some of our favorites are: Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Mama Melrose (MGM)for the Fantasmic Dinner Package, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue (if you are interested in a dinner show). Are you interested in a Character meal? If so, Crystal Palace at MK has a nice one (buffett). This has Pooh and the gang. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian (Denise's home) has buffet bfast w/ Alice, Madhatter, Pooh, Eeyore, Mary Poppins. Definitely try to spend a day at each park. Don't miss Wishes & Spectromagic at MK, Illuminations at Epcot, Fantasmic at MGM, and Festival of the Lion King at AK. Hhhhmmm...did I miss anything?
