Oh my Kate, that must have been quite a scare for you. My kids have been on that med. too. I think it is called Augmentin, or something like that. It sure works, but the consequences that you have to put up with are completely disgusting. Alyssa was on it when she was an infant. You know how you have to push their legs up to clean in all the crevices when you change a poopy diaper....well, I would get her almost all clean, and as I would push her legs up, more poop would squirt out. This went back and forth like 5 times, with new diapers under her bottom each time. I don't know how many I wasted in the course of 10 minutes. She reminded me of one of those play-doh things, where every time you push down the lever and play-doh oozes out!!
ewww!!!

That reminds me of when Nick was a baby- until his dairy allergy kicked in he was a POOPER!!

The 2nd night after he was born - I changed his poopy diaper 10 times!!!! It was that nasty black tar poop. I had been lucky with Julia - I had a blood clot so I had limited mobility and was not able to change her diapers for the first 48 hours so everyone else got to change that part! How can such a sweet little baby make such a disgusting poop!?!

When he was a couple of weeks old - Steve was changing his diaper and Nick was on an ottoman - when Steve lifted Nicks legs up to clean out squirted the poop - all over Steve - it was rather hilarious - my whole family was there and it is one of my sister in laws favorite stories to this day- she is not sure what was funnier - when it happened, my DH being disgusted or my mom running over to clean her carpet or me cracking up laughing about it!!!! I tell Steve he should just be happy his mouth was closed!!!

My kids are 8, 6, and 3. I would not take any of them to see the movie. It was really intense and scary through most of the first part. My kids have really vivid imaginations, and I could just picture what would happen after they saw it: I would have kids sleeping in my bed for the next 6 months. I was covering my eyes and plugging my ears through most of the island stuff.

You have to know your kids. We took the older 2 to see Narnia last weekend, and they both loved it! Of course, we had read the book as a family, so they knew the story and there were no surprises. With this, know what your kids can handle and what they can't. Good luck making the decision.

Hmmm...I think the 10 yr old would be ok. No way on the 6 yr old...The 8 yr old (boy) likes this kind of stuff....I'll have to think on it. All I know is that I don't want to see it.

Good morning all...

Woke up to find the furnace is not working...it's 58 degrees and falling. Plus my laundry tub is clogged. So basically, we're frigid in dirty clothes!

Here is some :wizard: for you. Hope you get everything working again real soon.

Hey everyone. Haven't posted for a very long time. I took a few post doctorate courses and was spending time with my DM who has been having some problems. Then the holidays came along. Time flies when you are having fun. I was also dealing with the guilt of not sending MidNite the tshirt I promised her. The design is printed & the shirt is purchased, I just have to iron it on and send it out. Unfortunately, I made some great tshirt designs for my last trip (which I have this board to thank for) but my ironing on left a lot to be desired. By the time I was finished with my shirts, I was reluctant (and a little scared) to do MidNite's. So I stayed away from the boads so I wouldn't have to face my fear. :scared1: Well, this past week I decided I was going to bite the bullet and come back. I saw that the other board had closed (you go Baloo) and found this one. unfortunately, I did not get through all 83 pages, but I did skim through most of them.

I am taking my Nephews to DW in February and will be making some tshirts for them. I will also redo some of the ones I made & hopefully I have learned from my mistakes. :rotfl2:

It's nice seeing all of you again & MidNite I promise I will bite the bullet and iron on the design.

Take care, Penny aka Chaos Cent

btw - glynis - you have a penny with mouse ears in your design. I am going to try and recreate it if that's ok with you. My DH gave me a license plate with Dr. 1 Cent on it (for Penny) but that's a little big for the mouse ears. ::yes::
Thanks, Penny

Welcome back.

Hi Glynis - glad you had a nice evening. SO you have a theatre (we called that a cinema) with a restaurant in?? Cool - but don't you worry about eating too loudly??

Judging by your description of Kong I think I'll wait for the DVD! I'm not into 6ft creepy crawleys... see my trip report I can't even manage tough to be a bug :rotfl:

I don't worry about eating too loudly. We usually just order pizza, and since the surgery the only part I can eat is the toppings, so I just scrape them off. They're nice and quiet.

If DH orders nachos, then he knows he has to finish them before the previews are over. It's kind of fun, because most of the audience is also eating, so no one really bothers anyone. If you get there early enough, you can even sit at a table instead of having to sit in regular theater seats.

As to the creepy crawlies, my skin is still itching. It was horrible. I knew I was in trouble when they started showing mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds.

I still have a bunch of posts to catch up on. I still feel like I am getting sick coughing sore throat achy, but today I also feel nauseous and dizzy to add to it. At first I thought it was because I have my period(sorry guys don't want to scare you away) but then I started talking to the people who work at the other stores and both males and females said they had felt nauseous reccently or did when I talked to them. I hardly ate anything today at all, it just makes me feel worse.

Now onto my job interview, I had already filled out an application before I got there but I still had to fill out about 8 pages of questions some for background check etc. This is after the 8 page application I already filled out. Plus I had to bring a driver's licensce, social security card, birth certificate, vehicle registration, insurance card, declaration page for my car insurance, high school diploma, and college degree. I have never been asked to bring more to an interview. I thought I should just write them a book. I was there for over 2 hours.

I have been hired part time as a residential specialist. I will be working out of small group homes for people with physical and mental disabilities. I can work up to 40 hours a week or as few as I want. So I plan on keeping my full time job and working there some hours each week. If I decide I like it I can put in for full time at any time. After three months of employment if I decide to go full time I will automatically be eligible for benefits. So I'm hoping that I will like it.

Becky

That's great Becky (other than being sick!!)

OH MY GOSH!!!!! Kate.....that story was to much not to qoute so someone could read it again. That is hilarious!!!! We had the same experience but ours was the changing table to the wall and down to the carpet. It wasn't a pretty site then but we all laugh about it now.

Enough people wanted this recipe, so I'm posting it here.

2 Tbs. brown sugar, not packed
3 Tbs. vegetable oil
3 Tbs. soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 Tbs. grated fresh gingerroot
4 salmon fillets

In a shallow baking dish, combine brown sugar, oil, soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Place salmon fillets in baking dish. Turn fish over several times to coat and refrigerate for as long as you can (I try to do this for at least 3 hours, turning the fish every half hour). Preheat broiler. Remove fish from marinade. Place fish on a piece of foil on a broiler tray, rutning once during cooking, about 6 minutes per inch of thickness and at about 6 inches away from the heat. Do not over cook and watch your fish like a hawk!

Very yummy! I hope you all enjoy it!

Thank you Glynis!
