We leave for DL at 5:00 Sunday morning. Our plan is to drive through, stopping in Vegas for lunch and a run into the Disney outlet store, and then on to our hotel. We have ressies at Rainforest Cafe at 7:30 in the evening, so I'm hoping we get there early enough to shop in DD as there are several items I need to pick up. I can't wait!!!!! I'm so excited to be going with Alan and no kids. We did this on our honeymoon, and had such a great time! It will be nice to do it again, now!

Have a wonderful trip!!!

Please pray for Phil right now. I don't know what is going on as I'm at work, but he sounds like he is on the verge of a total breakdown. It is being caused in part because some combination of the high calcium and Vitamin D they had him taking has been keeping him so drowsy for over a week that he can barely function. Now he seems to have come to the end of his rope over these feelings. Luckily, he is of good enough mind that he has made an appointment for this afternoon with a psychologist. For now, I just need him to get himself and Terra into the city and to me safely. He won't be driving so there isn't a danger there, but they can get to me faster than I can get to them and I think time is of the essence as too relieve as much stress as possible as soon as possible. He has asked me to go to the doctor with him so hopefully I can help convey what has been going on lately if he can't. Thank you for any prayers and pixie dust you can spare as this is all a little scary.
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: hope everything is looking up for you guys :grouphug: :grouphug:

Theresa - I like that... "steamy fluff" I'll have to remember that one :teeth:

For those that might travel across the Canadian border, since the passport regulations have started going into effect, the border crossings have been getting a little more strict. Make sure anyone 18 and older has a goverment issued photo ID AND either the orignial birth certificate or certified copy of your birth certificate. You need something to show that you are a US citizen (birth certificate) so the US customs will let you back into the states, and the government issued ID (drivers license, state ID) shows your picture to match your birth certificate. If the names are different (for you married ladies out there) bring a marriage license to show the name change.
That alone should make people start getting passports. Plus with the requirement to have them for cruising by the end of this year means that the beginning of next year there are going to be TONS of discounts for cruising because alot of people arn't getting their passports...so ships are going to be "looking" to fill by offering BIG discounts. And don't wait until the end of the year to get one! Everyone will wait until last minute, and the wait times now are already running at 7 weeks instead of the normal 4. Visit www.travel.state.gov for more information.

Ok. There's the end of my TA speech/rant. Thanks for listening! :teeth:

Getting passports for a family of 5 is so expensive! I can't justify it for the little border crossings we like to do. I guess we should have them anyway, but it is so much money. It looks like we just won't be going into Canada anymore.

Hi all. Sorry for the delay in posting, but Terra and I just got home a little while ago. Phil's appointment was semi-successful. The primary thing they did was increase his anti-depressant dosage. The also suggested a nother type of medication, but it has both of us a little nervous. I think that since my parents will be here to take Terra next week if needed we're going to give it a few days to see how things pan our before deciding on the new meds. It seems that the extreme dosage of Vitamin D that the doctor prescribed last week is at least part of the culprit. He took the first pill yesterday and within 12 hours was sinking quickly and deeply into a depression. Now that we are 24 hours past that pill, he is doing increasingly better. The current plan is to talk to the doctor again on Monday before taking another Vitamin D next week. For now, I am just praying that Phil at least stays where he is now or, even better, improves. Past that, I just pray that the way is paved for us to move sooner rather than later, but whatever happens I trust that it is for the best.

Thank you all again for your continued prayers. It means the world to me and really brought me peace this morning as I waited impatiently for Phil and Terra to get into town. You all are the best. :grouphug:

Thanks for the update. I'll keep you all in my prayers. :grouphug:

Hey everyone! Thanks to my FANTASTIC husband, I had a few minutes to catch up!!

The NCLEX is done at least  I'm pretty torn on it. I mean, I think I passed for one (fairly safe assumption) reason. It cut off at 75 questions. You can most certainly fail in 75 questions, but I'm told it gives you the beneft it of the doubt and lets you keep testing until you REALLY prove you're incompetent if tha'ts the case. Most people that stop at 75 pass. However..... the questions sucked. You know when you get something narrowed down to two choices and guess? Well that was like 70 of the 75 questions :rotfl: It didn't take an hour even though, so that was nice. I'll let you all know when I find out (in the next few days).

As far as the other thing going on, DDA prayers are reigning it in a bit anyway. Continued thoughts would be greatly appreciated, but I feel confident enough to at least tell you what's up, with one thing happening already this morning!

In mid-May ..... we bought a house!!! I didn't mention it here because of all the bumps we hit along the way with the mortgage. I was terrified something else was going to go wrong, so I didn't really want to focus on it much (anymore than I already was IRL). Even until today, we hadn't got a straight answer on our closing information. Pretty much, people are stupid. When we set a closing target date (June 9th), it was suggested by the people involved, knowing darn well about our trip. Now all of a sudden they are freaking out that we won't be accessible up until the day before.... so I'm a little nervous.

We did finally hear this morning that we have an appointment set up for the 9th at 10:00am. My mortgage guy was working his butt off to have everthing finalized a week early (today) so that he would not have to contact us at all during the cruise (and make us spend even more money and time trying to communicate via email). We're still waiting on his call, but I know he's doing his best. And the financing was preapproved, so there shouldn't be any problems... but it will be nice to know it's 100% completed and awaiting our return.

So I'm supposed to have my entire house packed, plus the cruise stuff (and hope they don't get mixed up), plus take this test this morning, take my sister's homeschool team to their Olympic day (which thankfully got rained out and rescheduled  ) so I was pretty much pulling my hair out yesterday.

But while I was gone, Kyle got up early and packed virtually EVERYTHING here for the house!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's great :teeth: So I have a few errands to run, and need to double check the cruise stuff, but then I should be all set.

So if you want to continue praying, just pray that we have no surprises waiting for us when we come back. It's still a little scary knowing that we come back less than 12 hours when we're supposed to meet, and who knows what could happen before then!!!! We're pretty thrilled about the house though.

So that's that. I'll check in again either later tonight or tomorrow morning before we leave. Talk to you then!
Sending more :wizard: I had a feeling it might be house related! Glad its all going well :thumbsup2

Well all, alot has gone on since I was last here. I guess moving and getting married are the biggest. I no longer live in Ohio. I now live in North Carolina. We moved about 3 months ago. I just got married a week ago today. For the longest time I didn't have internet access so that was rough. Getting everyone settled, the kids in new schools, finding a house, things have been really crazy. We still don't have all our stuff moved...like I said, crazy!! I still won't be back on the DIS full time yet, but I should be able to pop in more often. I gotta lot of catching up to do. Hope everyone is doing well!!
WOW! You have been busy. Congratulations on both events. Do you like NC? I hope life settles down for you soon and you can actually enjoy it, instead of being stressed over it.

Thanks for posting, Tia. :grouphug: to you all. I pray that you get the meds straightened out. Thank goodness Phil knows when to seek help!

Good morning. Nicholas and John are off to the Kid's Fishing Derby at our local reservoir. Alyssa decided that she didn't want to go (thanks to a teeny bit of encourgement from me) so we get to do girl stuff. Maybe manicures/pedicurs.

I don't know where all these thunderstorms are going. They have been calling for them for the past 3 days, and I think we have had about 5 drops of rain. We seem to live in an area, for whatever reason, that the rain never makes it to.

Jennifer and Glynis - I hope you have a great time. Safe travels! :sunny:

Good morning DDAers! I hope you have a sunnier Satuday in store than we do. The radar map is awfully green. Jen - is the bike ride today? I hope that it's tomorrow as that green is stretching pretty far east.

No big plans for us today, just some final clean up for when my parents arrive later today. They got as far as Erie, PA last night and will make a quick stop to see Niagara Falls as they pass before heading over, so I guess that it will be about dinner time when they get here. Terra is so excited (and me too! :teeth:)!

Thanks, Tammi. I am so incredibly greatful that Phil knows when he needs help and seeks it out immediately. I don't know what I'd do if he refused to seek the help he needed on days like yesterday.

Vicki -- I hope you end up having a fantastic weekend, and peaceful and fun anniversary!

Well we are talking now but aren't going camping. Chuck's in a lot of pain and just doesn't think he can handle a car ride today so we'll be staying home after all. I sure hope the results from his tests come back soon with some answers. He looks like an 80 year old man walking around. I can't imagine the pain he is in.

Vicki - we are going on the 4/28 cruise and I would love if you went - but I would have to be honest with you that we would have to pretend that we met on the boat :teeth: and I would probably have to sneak away to spend anytime with you :lmao: I have this feeling that my MIL will be determining what I do and when - and since she is paying- who am I to complain??!?!

Totally understand!!! :rotfl:

Oh, Vicki, I am so sorry. I hope you can still have a wonderful time staying home. I'm praying for you both that you get the answers soon and that the doctors can do something for Chuck. :grouphug:

Oh Vicki, I'm so sorry that you may cancel. I really hope that the doctor can figure out what to do and help Chuck soon. He is in our prayers and :wizard: that the pain subsides soon.

My parents live on Grand Island, and that is where I grew up.

There is a Butterfly Museum on the Canadian side, and we always like to go see the Floral Clock. The Casinos have fireworks almost every weekend now, too.

Beth

My great uncle and aunt had a house on Grand Island. I totally forgot about the floral clock.

Rees' surgery is set for 10am Monday. We have to be at the hospital at 7:30am. John is going with us. Rees will hopefully get to come home on Tuesday. I have no idea if they have internet at the hospital, but John will have his Blackberry so I'll try to post. Do I need to change the skin to the mobile setting for this to work? If not, I will call someone to have them post for me.

Here's :wizard: :wizard: for Monday. All the Figs are in my prayers.
