Teresa - I am glad you joined in - and how cool that you and Vicki know each other!!!

Rumors are correct - I went to the doctor today and surgery it is - my doctor isn't a surgeon and in fact - no one in his practice can do the surgery so he is sending me to another surgeon - who will tell me 1 of 3 things

1. Sorry - your knee is too screwed up and I can't help you - let's pray this is not his answer b/c then basically I am screwed and will have to wait until my knee has a total breakdown and I have a knee replacement

2. I will give it a shot but I can't promise you anything - which again could someday result in knee replacement but at least give me a chance at relief and recovery

3. You are the perfect candidate for this surgery and it will fix everything - OBVIOUSLY this is what I would love to hear from him!!!

So that appointment is next Friday morning - so if you all could keep me in your prayers for then

Denise - I hope you get the job - that would be wonderful!!

Paula - leaving your kids gets easier and easier and in the end makes you a better parent!

We'll all be hoping for #3!!

and Paula I agree with Kate leaving the kids gets easier and easier but I too was like you took awhile to trust anybody with my babies!!

OMG!! You are not going to believe this! Here's a story of how small our world is!!!!

After TeresaJoy posted about seeing Kate, I sent her a pm when I saw that she was from Michigan. I told her I was from the U.P. and asked where she was from. She sent a nice note back saying where she lived, that her husband had attended Michigan Tech in the UP and where did I live in the UP. I sent another one saying that Chuck & I had met at Michigan Tech and the years that we were there. She sent another note saying that her husband was there at the same time. What a small world, she says! She went on to say that he used to hang out with Bob & Liz x, Dave y, Chuck & Vicki z. Imagine my surprise when I opened the pm and saw my name in the middle of her post. I couldn't read it fast enough.

This is our long lost buddy & his wife. We attended their wedding. I just asked Bob a couple of months ago if he had their address because I wanted to start sending Christmas cards again and their last one came back. He didn't have it. I just got off the phone with him and he is excited that I've found them too.

Bob & Liz were our neighbors in married student housing when we first got married. Dave, Bob & her DH were best buddies. Chuck was a grad student and worked a lot of evenings & Liz was a nurse that worked nights. I can't tell you how much time we all spent together over those first two years of my marriage. We hung out all the time. After we moved to Holland MI, they all met there to hang out one year. We got together for their wedding and Dave's wedding. These were very close friends. I'm so excited to have made contact with them again. I can't believe I did it through the DDA.

Can you tell I'm like this right now????!!!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I think that's the coolest thing I've heard!!! Way to go, DDA, now we're reuniting long lost friends!

Oh, Kate! I'm so sorry about your knee. I'll pray for number 3 as that seems to be the best of the choices! My mother has had both her knees replaced, and I can tell you, that's not fun! I'll send tons of PD that all will go well, and this surgery will take care of the problem.

Denise, I forgot to tell you this earlier. I'm thrilled with your job opportunity. I'll pray that you get exactly what you want! I know how important it is for you to be able to help the triplets get ready for school and to be there when they get back. And to have Fridays off as well! That's just an added bonus.

Denise, good luck on the job interview. I sure hope that you get it because it sounds perfect for you & your family!

Kate, I sure hope that you are the perfect candidate for surgery and that it resolves the issue that you are having with your knee.

Oh, and please send PD my way. I got a call this am for the preschool teaching job at my church! It's the lead teacher position for a 2 year old class. I can have my choice of 2 days a week, T-Th or M-W, or teach all 4 days. I told her I would like the 4. So I go next Wednesday at 10am for the interview. Keep your fingers crossed! It would be perfect, close to home, and at our home church. Hours are 9am-2pm, so I could get the kids on the bus and be there when the bus drops them off. And I'd still get a three day weekend every week by having Fridays off!

That is great news, Denise! Much PD coming your way for a successful interview. It sounds like the right place for you and I know that the church will see how lucky they would be to have you teaching for them. Best of luck to Rees on Friday and BK on Saturday.

Has anyone ever subscribed to Tour Guide Mike?? I was thinking about it for our family gathering Jan 07.

Lynn

I am on my 2nd subscription now and love it. Our first use was for Thanksgiving weekend and the following week. Even during the crowds of the holiday weekend we never waited more than 15 minutes for anything. I am now using it for the 1st week of October. I considered not subscribing again, but decided that 1) I really like his Best Days chart and 2) the sample touring guides are the best I have seen. In the future, I will probably decide whether to purchase again based on how badly I think I want the Best Days chart as I find his the best ones I have seen. Also, I really like that he explains his reasons for everything so that you can decide for yourself and also know how best to proceed if you decide to go with your own plan.

Denise - Did you see that they have changed PhotoPass so that you can no longer add borders, signatures, etc to your pictures. I am guessing that the CD process will go much more quickly now as there won't be a line of people adding things to all of the pictures. Just thought I'd mention it in case it affected you plans for your last morning since I know you all really like Chef Mickey's.

You explained exactly why I liked it. I couldn't put it into words. Thanks for doing it for me (especially the last sentence). I don't really follow his plan but read all his advice & reasoning. That way I can make the best decision for our kind of touring. I do really like his best days chart.

Many, many buckets of :wizard: that it is the 3rd! The other two would not be fun at all. You will be in our thoughts and prayers!

Denise--I'll add your job interview to my prayer list. And a little :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: can't hurt either. That sounds like a terrific position for you! I'll keep Rees in my prayers, too. I hope this is all behind you soon. Good luck to BK for the dance recital! I miss those.

Kate--I'll add your knee, too, so that the surgeon will find you the perfect candidate and this will be behind you soon. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Clare--one of my male cats had that urinary trouble about 6 years ago. He hasn't had a problem since. We have him on Purina Urinary Health food (don't know if that is something you have over there). I am glad that your baby is doing better!

Vicki and Teresa--that is a great story! I'm glad that you found each other again.

Paula--you have been busy! It sounds like it is time for you to sell that house, since it is causing you so much stress.

I subscribed to TGM for our August trip, but I haven't put enough time into it yet. I was happy to see that his best days chart confirmed what I had planned as the best days. I was a little worried that I'd be trying to change all my ADR's once I found out what his ideas of best days were.

Teresa - I'm so glad you joined our thread.

Vicki - that is so cool that you've found your long lost friend right here on the DDA!

Andrew - WTG on winning the game for your team! That must have been quite a feeling.

Paula - sounds like you need a rest.

Denise - hoping that you get the job. It sounds like it would be perfect for you.

Kate - sorry to hear about the knee. I'm sure the worst part is waiting around again for another appt. with so many questions yet to be answered.

Lynn - another satisfied customer of TGM here. I've resubscribed also.

Okay, is it just me or is anyone else excited about Gameshow Marathon on CBS tonight?!? I love game shows, but especially the older ones. I can't wait for Let's Make a Deal and Press Your Luck. Those were always two of my favorites. Oh yeah, and Match Game. The celebrity choices aren't too bad either.

I just wish that I had Game Show Network again! That is the one channel I really miss in our cable lineup.

Amy, where are you? Did you go to the zoo afterall? :confused3 I want to see the koalas!!!! :goodvibes
