Hello my DDA friends. I have not been on in a few weeks. I have still not got my house straightened out. How can anyone have so much stuff? I am organizing a neighborhood yard sale and it will be June 26 so I will be getting rid of some of this stuff/junk. Whenever I get my office put together I will post pics.

I got my Castle picture back and it is awsome. My husband who is not crazy about disney even said it looked classy.

Good to "see" you around. I can't answer your question though as no matter how much I get rid of there always seems like it multiplies over night. Good luck on the yard sale.

I had my knee surgery today and it was a breeze. We have a new surgery center and they had me in and out in less than 21/2 hours. At the hospital two years ago when I had this same surgery it took almost 5 hours to get in and out.

They also used some differnt kind of anesthesia and i felt great and very alert when I awoke from surgery. I was very impress.

I will be on crutches until Sunday afternoon adn then will be able to walk normal.

I had a torn meniscus and that part was removed. Everthing went great. I am on pain med as I am typing this so if I sound strange please excuse me. LOL

Ok, DDAs -- I'm off to bed soon, but if I could request a few prayers that would be great! My test could use a few, but that's really less concerning than all the other stuff I have to get done before bedtime tomorrow. We have some things to take care of before we leave, but some involved parties aren't really cooperating enough to allow me to set sail stress free. :guilty:

I'm sorry I can't provide more details, but God knows what's up.... and maybe Tinkerbell does too? :confused3 ;)

Nothing is wrong with any of us.... in fact, there is nothing but good stuff going on in our lives (well, after about noon tomorrow ;) ) -- there are just a few things that have to fall into place before we leave and are unable to be contacted without $7.00/minute phone calls!

I plan on checking in tomorrow and/or Saturday, but if not then I'll talk to you soon!

Good luck!

glad your surgery went okay!!!

If anyone has an update on what has been happening in the past month please send it to me.

I would really like to hear about the DDA trip to Disney some of you all went on. I tried to find something but could never pinpoint it.

I did see that Kate is probably going to have some type of knee surgery. Kate what is wrong with your knee?

Well I better go crawl back into bed before I fall asleep in this chair.

Hope everyone is feeling good and having a great summer.

I've missed many posts myself so I wouldn't be any help in catching you up, but I wanted to tell you it's good to see you back and I'm glad your surgery went well. Good luck with your neighborhood sale!

I am on Long Island.

Wow, this thunder is shaking my house!

I'm in Poughkeepsie, which is 75 miles north of Manhattan, so I'm 2-3 hours away from you, depending on where on Long Island you are. (Of course, it could be 7-8 hours if there's lots of traffic :rotfl: )

Holy Crap - Jennifer - you need your hats tomorrow!!!!

I will bring them to you - just tell me when and where!!

Jennifer, good luck on the NCLEX tomorrow and have an awesome cruise! Take lots of pics to share with us.

Delinda, hope you are feeling better soon. You sound extremely perky to have had surgery today. They must have given you the GOOD meds! Sending you PD!

Night all. Rees has a doctor's appt in the am. I'll be around after that.

Silly! Lots of us have toddlers and young kiddos to get to bed! :goodvibes

And now, I also have to share the computer with Kevin. He's taking a "break" now, but he claims he needs the computer back to pay bills. I really need my own laptop, so I could sit on the couch, with my feet up! :teeth:

Amy :)

I hadn't thought about that! Can you tell that I have older children??!! :sad2:

Having a laptop has it's good & bad. I tend to spend too much time on it because I can sit with it on my lap and my feet up in the living room. I would recommend it to anyone that can get one though. I have to get my old one fixed for Becky. Katrina used to use it before she went to college. Every student at Northern has to lease a laptop so she got one of those. Chuck is also sitting in the living room with his laptop on his lap. When my mom came to visit, she was slightly taken back by Chuck, me, Katrina, Katrina's college roommate and Becky all sitting in the living room with our laptops on our lap watching TV.

delinda -

I am glad your surgery went well - I will look for our trip report links for you tomorow

I have a patella sublaxation - and I am very glad to see that you are so coherent and it was so easy!!!!!! I am nervous about the anesthetic - I think spinal block is an option and that is what I would want!!!!!!!

We are considering relocating to Michigan, have family thre and we really like the area, in the next 2 years or so. Our housing market is out of control and we would like a bigger house eventually and by staying here we don't see that happening. I am worried about DH having to find a new job. He doesn't have a degree but has so much computer knowledge it's crazy. So we know that without that paper it will hurt us. Thankfully he is working on that this fall.

Where in Michigan would you be moving?

hey guys..i know someone posted theres a way to get these ads off the screen--change something? i have no idea what to change and where it is!

I am working on our VBS registration and can I just tell you the things that annoy the crap out of me?

first off - I hate people who enroll 3-4 kids in the program and don't volunteer to do ANYTHING!! I know some people work - but couldn't they at least volunteer to bake or do pre-work?!?!

then I hate people who volunteer but refuse to buy the shirt that everyone wears - it is only $7 - and it really helps us identitfy who is in the building and should be - and trust me the people not buying it are not doing it for financial reasons -they are doing it b/c they would never wear it again

finally - I hate when people request who their kid is going to be with - especially when they send in a last minute registration!! my favorite one tonight is a last minute registration of a mom with 2 kids and she wants her youngest in a class with one of his friends b/c he probably won't stay otherwise - but despite the fact that she has a child who she is not sure will be okay in the program - she is not going to do something in the building - again - maybe she works - but maybe she should have sent her registration in before the last minute!!!

Okay - vent over - I feel much better

oh - and I am putting Julia in the class with her best friend - but that is b/c I am in charge and I can :teeth: otherwise I would NEVER request it! I guess I feel like since I would not be able to request her friends be in her class at school - I wouldn't do it here - eventually she will have to learn to be in a class where she might not know anyone!

Boy, do I hear you on those things that annoy you. As far as putting Julia in with her best friend, that is one of the few perks that you get for volunteering so much of your time. I felt it was the least I could do for my kids with all the stress I was under in volunteering so much of my time which in turn stressed out my kids (even though I tried to have my stress affect them as little as possible).

In case I forget, I'll be gone Saturday morning to Monday night. Chuck & I are going camping to our favorite campground. We used to camp there as young newlyweds. We'll celebrate our 24th anniversary there on Monday and then come home.

I will also be gone next Saturday morning through Sunday night as well. Becky has a leadership conference to attend in Lansing and I'm supposed to drive her there. I'm trying to rearrange things someone else taking her so Chuck & I can attend my friends 25th anniversary party but don't know if I'll be able to swing it. Either way I'll be gone that Saturday & Sunday.

Change your forum skin. To do this, select Quick Links, Edit Options. Go all the way to the bottom of the screen to the Forum Skins. The default (Orlando Blue) shows the ads. The three I tested didn't have the ads. One was green something, the other Swan & Dolphin and the last was DVC. I don't know about all the other ones but I'd find a color combination you like and see if the ads are there.

You know, I always feel guilty that I don't do something for the middle and high school teachers. I'm not sure what I can do without breaking the bank and without my children's help (neither would take something in to their teachers).

Any suggestions?

Beth

At Christmas I found an awesome deal on highlighters and so the teachers all ended up with a full set of highlighters (a dozen I think!!) in a 20 cent cup. I spent $2 a teacher and all of them loved it!! I fact Cassidy's favorite teacher told her a week in advance when his birthday was and that he wanted more highlighters so I sent some in!!
