:goodvibes Thank you.
Glynis is going in June and she said she would pick them up for me.

Yup. I'm happy to do it! Do you want the Mickey set or the Minnie?

Hi, everybody!

It's been a long time - two weeks! I have no idea where I left off, so if anyone wants to give me an update on this little world, I would greatly appreciate it.

Things at work have been hectic and stressful (thus my absence from this board), but I think about each of you often, and hope all is well with everyone.

Belatedly, I hope those going on the DDA trip have a FABULOUS time!

Here's some :cheer2: :wizard: :grouphug: for everyone in need this morning.

Lindsay

Lindsay - how are things going for you? Are things at work cooperating enough that Hawaii is still in your future? I've been wondering how the assistant hunting is going. I know this is your busy time. I'll keep sending :wizard: that all will go well for you!

I have to say the weather in Atlanta today is beautiful. Right now it is 63 degrees with a high of 80 with winds 10-20 mph...........just enough spring breeze to keep you cool. I don't think we could ask for a better Friday.

Lynn

Then I wish I were in Atlanta! We don't have any of this :sunny: today. They are calling for thunderstorms (with the possibility of them become severe) later in the day.

I do not have a green thumb!

We bought some empty planters and pot soil at Sam's last night. Does anyone have any recommendations for some relatively maintenance-free flowers to fill them up with? They'll be in the sun, if the sun decides to reappear for a while. And, I'd like something that will stay in bloom for a few weeks (is that possible?).

Thanks in advance!
Amy :)

I don't have the greenest thumb, either, but I believe that petunias are pretty hardy. Also pansies. I think they are really cheerful flowers, too.

Since everyone at work is tired of me talking about Disney, I'll ask all of you!

When Bob and I go to Disney this fall, we currently have 8 nights at the Pop Century resort. Bob has been dying to stay at Riverside. The catch is though, it would run us another $540. I've never stayed this long at a value before, and given it's the last week that the free dining is running, I'm afraid that it's gonna be swamped here. Does anyone have suggestions for me? Do it or don't? Save the money for something else? (Like bills, Segway tour, and Disney stuff to take home?) I guess I'm hoping someone will talk me out of it. :)

When we went last October we stayed 5 nights at Pop and 4 nights at Port Orleans French Quarter. Pop is very different than Port Orleans. It is much more crowded and I think the decorations are over the top. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker at Pop. The rooms were fairly similar in size, POFQ was a bit bigger, but it really didn't make much difference. Pop required much more walking to get to the main pool, and main building. The food court was really busy most of the time. POFQ was much more intimate with a short walk to the busses (shorter wait), pool and main buildings. The rooms were very nicely decorated. We really like having the fridge and coffee maker right there. We didn't hate Pop, but would probably spend the extra $$ for Port Orleans French Quarter in the future. I'm not sure how Riverside differs from French Quarter so maybe this post isn't relavent. We have since bought DVC so now we have a whole new set of Resorts to try out. :teeth:

Rees did very well with the Upper GI this morning. He got quite upset, but overall handled it extrememly well all things considered.

The Pediatric Surgeon, just called. Rees does have a Diverticula in the lower esophagus. He said it is in a very weird location (usually they are higher in the Esophagus), but isn't sure if that is causing all of Rees' problems. He also said the Fundo wrap looks very large, and it may be twisted or loose. He wants to take a close anatomical look at Rees himself. So next Thursday, May 25, Rees will go to Egleston Hospital to have another Endoscopy and an abdominal ultrasound. The surgeon will perform both tests himself. Rees will have to have general anesthesia again.

The surgeon said the surgery, if Rees needs it, is major and he would be in the hospital for at least a week. He doesn't want to do unless he has to, so we may end up trying the feeding tube route if Rees keeps losing weight.

So please pray we find a definitive answer to what is hurting Rees, that he starts eating, and maintains his current weight. We appreciate the prayers and support more than you can imagine.

Oh, Denise! My heart is breaking for you and for Rees! I will definitely keep you all in my prayers. I'm glad, though, that the surgeon wants to be a "hands-on" doctor. Is there anything we could do to help?

My kids were asking the other day if they could get some pen pals for the summer. Would it be ok with you if they wrote to your kids? If so, could you PM me your address? Maybe this will help cheer Rees up (and the other kids, too, as they have to watch him go through all this). We'll be travelling quite a bit this summer, all over our state, and my kids would love to send postcards from all the places we will go. Let me know if this is something you think would help your kids.

You'll never guess what the weather is like in Vermont today..................

Yep, it's raining again!!! It's been pouring all morning. I hope that the rivers and streams came down a bit the last two days in which we only had showers instead of downpours.

I hope everyone has a great day and the :sunny: comes out to play.

The :sunny: has come out just in time for me to get ready for our camping week-end. Weather predictions are good so far for the week-end. I'll be checking in off & on today but will be leaving this afternoon and then won't be back until Sunday.

Have a wonderful week-end my DDA friends (in case I forget to say it later before I leave).

Good Morning All!!

I am so glad it is Friday, I get to meet Ellen in about 11 hours!!

The only problem with today is it's going to get up to 90 and I can't go and play outside!! :guilty:

Anyone want to know what my plant of choice is??

HOSTAS!

They line my fence so I don't have to weed whip as much.
This year I get to split some of the hostas. Some of them are already at least 4ft wide!

It was my freshman hall, which I absolutely abhorred -- but I think East Quad is so pretty :goodvibes

Oh, it's a dorm!

I didn't go to East Quad too much. I lived in Emerson (South Quad) my first year...the last year it was all-girls. Then I lived in Clawson Hall (Western Campus) for two years, which I thought would be horrible, but I actually requested it for my junior year. And then I moved off campus to the Candlewood Apts. for the next two years (I graduated in December 2004, but I lived in Oxford for an extra semester).

And regarding your comment about there being so much we can walk to in Sharonville, that's just another reason to love our new house! We can still walk everywhere! :goodvibes

So, even though we're having an open house from 12-2 p.m. on Sunday, Remax just called and asked if someone could walk through at 9 a.m. that morning. Yay, finally someone is coming inside! :woohoo: And, that sounds like a great reason to get up early and go out to breakfast! :teeth:

I hope everyone has a great day! I'm still doing laundry and I have a bunch of cleaning to do. And, I promise Dawn, emailing you back is at the top of my list too!!!

Amy :)

Mardi Gras is a huge celebration in Louisiana. It is known for alcohol consumption, women flashing their b00bs in public and receiving beads for it. Lots of college students, promiscuity, beer, beads and a huge parade. People come home with boxes of beads that they have received over the course of the week. Someone else might have a better explanation as I have never been, but from the news coverage that I have seen that about covers it in a nut shell.

Deb

:thumbsup2 Now it makes more sense!

Are you able to make a picture be a link? One picture for your wedding, one showing an autograph book for your autograph pages, a pink ribbon...etc..etc..
