are you going to the meet in Allentown?
Probably not. I really would like to go to Washington DC that weekend for the DDA meet there but have been struggling to find out if I have to work that weekend. So I really don't know if I will be doing either.

I do have time off the last week of June that I have yet to plan. I would love to meet up with some DDAer's that week if possible. If anyone lives within about 2-3 hours of Berks County, PA I might be interested in meeting up that week. Let me know if you are interested. If not life will go on anyways.

Is there a special build-a-bear at Disneyland? What kinds of things do they have there? Are they the same outfits as they have on their website?

ETA: Should have finished catching up before posting. I saw the answers to my questions already.
I went searching for more information about this. Apparently the only thing that is Disneyland specific is the ears, mouse gloves and Mickey Mouse shirt set. Everything else appears that you can buy it online.

I'm back. First of all I'd like to thank all of you :worship: for keeping the postings down to a minimum this weekend. I only had 11 pages to read tonight.

Here's the weekend camping trip report.

We left here at 3 PM, as soon as the boys got off the school bus. We hit rain off and on all the way to the campground. It stopped raining for a long enough time when we arrived and we were able to stay relatively dry while setting up. We got a brief shower around 5 PM, but it cleared up pretty nicely and we were able to have our group campfire. Since at 8 PM some families were still arriving we didn't finish all the skits and songs until around 9:30 PM. Most of the family hurried off to bed at that time. I was not at all tired so my family and a couple of other families sat by the campfire until almost midnight. It was very relaxing the skits were so much fun. It really was a great time. We had rain during the night and apparently it poured while many of the tenters were preparing breakfast. We came out of our camper around 9 AM and it wasn't raining. The mini golf tournament was at 9:30 AM. We had 9 teams made up of the Scouts along with various family members. The groups were mixed up pretty well although somehow my Mom and Chris ended up on Nick's team with one of the other siblings. They won the tournament. It was fun and we got to spend time with people that we probably wouldn't have. We went back to camp and made our lunches. At 1 PM the scouts went on and orienteering treasure hunt. They had to use maps, compasses and follow directions to find the treasure. It was pouring, but they still had fun (I got a 20 minute nap in with Colby :teeth: ) We had our fishing challenge at 2 PM. It was raining so hard that the fish really weren't biting. Only 3 boys caught one fish a peice. I had 5 prizes and only 3 winners :confused3 Since it was really raining I talked to the campground owner and arranged to use the rec center for the group dinner. We cooked under the porch roof and ate inside. It was nice and most importantly dry. Since I had 2 extra prizes I raced around the campground and came up with clues to a scavenger hunt. We sent the scouts out after dinner and of course 3 boys (actually 3 dads) all came running back at the same time. The had to split the prizes between the 3 boys. We handed out all the prizes and went back to our sites. The rain finally slowed down so we had another campfire with some light rain periodically. Everyone had turned in by 10 PM. We woke up this morning to no rain although everything was still very wet. We packed up and our family played another game of mini golf before heading home. We got home around 1:30 and I had to be to work at 4 PM. Very busy weekend, but lots of fun. People were already talking about next year. I really think that all families had fun and there were no conflicts which makes it a huge success.

Welcome home Deb, I am so glad to hear that the weekend went well. I knew it would, no matter what the weather.

I know how much planning all the DDAers do for any event that we attend so you will all appreciate this true story. One of the families that went with us had 3 kids. They were tenting and didn't bring their dining canopy with them this year. They only had their tent or their car to get out of the rain. They only brought the outfits that they wore on friday and one other outfit per person. Remember that their was a 60% chance of rain on Friday (it was raining when we left here) and a 100% chance of rain for Saturday. Needless to say they were at the laundry drying clothes after breakfast on Saturday as they got soaked Friday night and making breakfast on Saturday morning. We had one of the kids stay in our camper on Saturday night and I loaned him some of Hunter's dry clothes to wear today as he had nothing dry except his pjs. There were also some families with no rain coats. I was handing out dollar store ponchos as I felt bad for them.

Glad to hear that everything went well this weekend! And sometimes (especially with boys!) camping is DEFINATELY more fun in the rain!

I wanna go too!!

At least I can live through everyone here!
I have a friend there right now! I'll be expecting her call tomorrow to hear about how her husband had wine and cheese sent to the room for Mothers Day...

(I wonder where he got that idea? :rolleyes1 given that his idea of a gift was "geez I'm taking her to WDW isn't that enough!?)

You can certainly be part of the "Ellen/Elin/Ellyn" Club! My name was supposed to be Ellin but the person who recorded my birth certificate was Swedish and she thought is was supposed to be Elin, so it was spelled that way. I love having a different name, and I LOVE that you are the only Glynis that I know!

I really like my name now, but as a child I hated the first day of school. I always dreaded hearing how the teacher would pronounce my name. Some would get it right, and others would just slaughter it. Made me cringe. Anyway, when I got into college I started going by my middle name, then I met DH and we started dating. Then I went back to Glynis. Alan and Ellyn just sounded to cutesy for us.

There is no build-a-bear store in WDW.

I see! That makes a lot of sense. Ok, one pair of Mickey ears coming your way. When we get back I'll get your address and get them mailed off to you! I'm so happy that I can do this for you! :cheer2:

Is it a regular Build A Bear or is there a special Build A Bear at Disney Land?

It's a regular Build a Bear, but they do have things like Mickey ears and sometimes a Mickey Mouse Club t shirt. I'm not sure what other DL specific items they have. We've never actually stopped in. However, now that all our kids have bears, we can get them a fun souvenir.

Chanon -
we went to an auction last night and we bought 2 tickets to cedar point - so guess where we will be road tripping this summer!!!
