The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 7

These Zizzlingers remind me of a 2 dolls I had when I was younger. The doll came with clothing that came in a pouch that you had to put in the water. You didn't know what type of clothing you would get, they all came with a basic outfit. I for the life of me cannot think of the name of these dolls, they also had a heart on their face cheek that would disappear from body temperature.

Anyone know what they were called?

Never mind I answered my own question they were magic nursery babies. I finally found the answer on Google.

Okay first off your manager needs to come and talk to us!!! She is being very selfish and taking advantage of you. IMHO She is the bee yotch not you!!

Here's some major pixie dusting that dear old mom is way to busy to go anywhere!! :wizard: :tink: :tink: :tink: :wizard:
The problem really is that with us being so short staffed we have been unable to use our vacation time. Plus it is restricted by the company to certain times of the year. It has to be used before October, can't be used around any holidays, etc.

For one of us to use vaction time the other basically has to take overtime which the company doesn't want to do. It is more a company problem than her problem.

We think so much alike quite often that this doesn't suprise me that we keep having plans at the same time. She is very nice and normally so thoughtful, how many of you have managers that call you when you complain you aren't feeling well to check up on you. It is just bad luck that we keep having plans the same time and there is no one else to work so that we could actually take off and do our plans.

I am :rotfl2: because here I go once again defending someone who has done something to irritate me.

Kate,
I haven't stayed there, but is this hotel included in the M.E.
Last year it wasn't.
DD stay @ SOG not included.
Friends stayed @ the Swan not included.
You may want to double check before leaving.
Hate to have you all stuck @ the airport.
Thanks Jo

It isn't included in ME - but we got an awesome deal on a rental car - just $55 for the whole time -

Kristine and I arrive at the airport within an hour of each other - we are hoping Tammi makes an earlier flight that arrives in between our two flight - the 3 of us will then drive to the Dolphin togehter. If Tammi doesn't make the earlier flight or there is a delay - we are going to buy a RT transfer on Mears for Tammi or the delayed party to get to the Dolphin -

On Sunday - Kristine leaves around noon - so she will use the other half of the transfer or we will pay for a one way Mears transport for her if we arrive together

then Tammi and I leave within a couple of hours of each other Sunday night - so we are going to spend Sunday in the MK - leave around 5:00 and head to the airport!

We thought about staying on property for this reason but decided the possible $30 for the Mears bus was not worth giving up the Dolphin!! You should have seen the ridiculous amount of pms and time we spend debating the switch - let's just hope it doesn't take us that long to decide which rides to go on!! :rotfl: we might only get on one ride the whole weekend!!! :lmao: :lmao:

I'm sure you'll LOVE the Dolphin. Are any of you Starwoods members? You can join for free and they will give you an upgrade on the room. At least that is what I've always heard. I stayed at the Dolphin before I discovered the Dis and knew about the upgrade.

Do you know you'll have to pay for parking at the Dolphin?

At least with Tammi's AP you won't have to pay if you drive to any park (AK?).

The Dolphin will be really convenient to Epcot for the Flower Fest.

I'm starting to get excited again but I've got T's and autograph cards to make and I'm still catching up at work.....

Here are a few photos of Tea at the Grand Floridian. We all really enjoyed this and thought it was well worth the $17.50 each and I was able to use my DDE discount.

We each got a pot of tea and cozy:

We started with tea sandwiches and onion tart:

Then we had a scone and raspberry tart:

We had a choice of strawberries and cream, trifle or 2 pastries each. We all chose pastries.

I can't wait to take Lizzie on her birthday.

It is $8 a day to park - since Tammi and I are DVC we can park for free at BWV or BCV and walk - who knows - we might decide to pay to park - we decided it was not a factor in the decision!

I have a starwood account but we made the reservation on my brother's account b/c he is Platinum member - bummer is that the club level is going to be closed - which is what his account usually gets access to! Some hotels will give you the benefits as long as he made the reservation for me and others don't - I don't ever expect the benefit but enjoy it when it is given!

I didn't know the upgrade was with any Starwood account - that would be sweet!!!

We love the idea of walking to Epcot and MGM - and just being on the Boardwalk -did you say you were having lunch at Tepanyaki on the 20th?

That teapot is GORGEOUS!! We went to Aurora's tea party last year - it was AMAZING!! I am not a tea drinker but their tea was FABULOUS!

Hey everyone, more good news from the May 18ers.....since it was now just Kate, Kristine and myself staying at Pop, we decided to look at the possibility of upgrading resorts. Kate was able to find us a super deal at the Dolphin, and we all decided it would be wonderful to stay there, right on the boardwalk!!! :Pinkbounc It will be so convenient to stroll over to Epcot or MGM. We can walk around or bike on the boardwalk at night. This is going to be so much fun!!!

Sounds like a terrific chage in venues. Can't wait to see how it goes... we expect a complete report.

Many thoughts and PD for you right now, Tammi...

I feel like the song from the musical Avenue Q, "What Can you do with a B.A. in English?"

What do you do with a B.A. in English,
What is my life going to be?
Four years of college and plenty of knowledge,
Have earned me this useless degree.

I can't pay the bills yet,
'Cause I have no skills yet,
The world is a big scary place.

But somehow I can't shake,
The feeling I might make,
A difference,
To the human race.

If you don't know what Avenue Q is, it is a musical where the characters are muppets like on Sesame Street, although it is definitely R rated or worse. Check out the Avenue Q website here. I am addicted to the soundtrack and really should go to New York to see it and Wicked but haven't gotten a chance to yet.

Yes, you should! These are the 2 show my DDs and I saw in New York City last summer during Kristin's birthday trip. They were both wonderful, in very different ways.

We are trying to decide what to see this August. Not having a lot of luck picking shows this year. We saw both our first choices last year. ;)

Great review Jen!
As I'm not a big fan of p&p anyway I'll definitely give it a miss.

Gold star to you on getting tasty in a sentence too :thumbsup2

Ok...... so my humble opinions on the 2005 P&P......?

Hmm.... I'll try to be brief, but you can PM me if you'd like to discuss more, because I have a lot to say!

I did SUCH a good job of not comparing the actors (namely Matthew McFadyen to Colin Firth and Keira Knightley to Jennifer Ehle)..... just ask Kyle.

But the whole thing! In comparison to the novel! I think Jane Austen would be rolling in her grave, and I never use that cliche!

Elizabeth was a total wimp. Not at all a heroine. Darcy was actually quite good, although not as "tasty" (to quote Clare) as the REAL Mr. Darcy ;) Definitely the most true to character, though, by far. SO much of the rest of the movie was characters doing things they NEVER would have done in the novel. Mr. Wickham was practically skipped over, except Mr. Darcy's story about him and Georgiana. Not much thought given to his relationship with Lydia or Elizabeth's caring about him.

Practically NO time was given to the class distinction.... the title should have just been "Pride", and not really even much of that! :rotfl:

To top it off, ladies were wearing pants, Mr. Bingley was hanging out in Jane's bedroom....

It was a cute story, in and of itself, but oh my gosh --- it was NOT Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice .

(Like I said, I have more if you REALLY watt to know how I feel :rotfl:

Going to bed now. Tasty Dole Whips made tonight a MUCH better one... hope you all are doing well also!

Morning DDA!

Looks like it rained last night. Nothing too hard, just light drizzle. It poured in Chicago last night during the White Sox game (which they lost!! :( )

I'm glad you guys are going to Disney. I need someone to live my vacation to Disney through. I still have over 140 days to go and it's killing me!

Jen -

when I was 19 my mom's best friend's 17 year old daughter died in a car accident - she was like a little sister to me - we had grown up together

It is to date the most devastating event in my life - but I learned a lot from it

her parents will always talk about her - her mom once told me - "If I stopped talking about her - it would be like she never existed and you don't have to worry about saying her name to me or talking about her upsetting me. There is never a moment in my life that I am not thinking about her and I like to know that other people think about her and miss her too. You will never remind me that I lost my child - it is always in my mind, it is part of who I am"

I guess as someone who went through this at around the same age as you - I want you to know that talking about her and missing her is so amazingly normal and healthy. Your stories actually keep Alyssa alive and honor her memory. You should never feel bad for loving and missing your friend!

Thank you Kate and everyone...I just feel bad randomly bringing up stories and things like that...I cant believe its only been a week..thanks for all the help
