When I was at uni I used to have a load of post it notes stuck on my wall with quotes on, my friends used to take the mickey but I think that inspirational words can be good for you to read now and again!

Everytime I hear this Tim McGraw track I think of the DDA so I thought I'd post the chorus here:

When we're going through the bad times it helps to remember that the dawn will come and things will get better.

Get working on that assignment!!!!!!! :rotfl:

I am!!! I have my mp3 player on and the track came on so I posted...

I'm being quite productive today - just took a break for some lunch and now I'm back to it!

I have a system worked out whereby everytime I complete a section I get rewarded by reading one page of the DIS :thumbsup2

Just checking!!! ;)

Bernadette -- WELCOME BACK! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip

Congratulations Nicholas! Tammi, I can't wait to see the pictures! Did you get pictures of Alyssa "playing" putt-putt? Sounds too cute!

Vicki -- your nephew is beautiful!

Ellen, Marti and Paul (and Matthew!) -- so glad you all got to meet!

Chanon -- we're always up for a Cedar Point trip!

Jo -- if only we had a Baskin-Robbins nearby! I miss that place!

Deb -- glad to hear your boys are safe, even if your night got a little thrown off! :( Hopefully you can get some rest time in soon, too!

Mrs.Heg -- Welcome aboard!

Elin -- sounds like you had a wonderful afternoon! I'm glad you were able to spend time with your daughters... they should be home soon, no? :)

Deb -- our school was alwasy "academy award attire", as well! (Good analogy, Kristine!)

Kate -- At first I wondered why I needed to post for the year 2020?! I tell you, yesterday killed ALL my brain cells (more on that later .... ) Thanks for looking out for me though!!

Jennifer (bear74) -- let me know if your Michaels, craft stores, etc don't carry the tape. That's where I've seen it around here. Maybe even WalMart? If not, I'll see if my aunt can order some.

Paula -- did I tell you how great your baskets are? If not, then here it is -- they really are super!

Robyn -- welcome back!

Christy
-- sounds like the performance was adorable! I love watching little ones sing and dance. :wizard: that today is a better day for Zachary!

Clare -- that is a great song! I'm loving the quotes you are sharing! :)

Whew! At least you weren't TOO terribly chatty, I was expecting a lot worse!

Kate -- and other's who have this problem:

I'm usually the last to hear about something, but wanted to make sure you had heard about the new Children's Tylenol. It's called Children's Tylenol with Flavor Creator. It has flavor packets you add to the Tylenol to create different flavor combinations. It looks like it comes with apple, bubble gum, chocolate, strawberry. It sounds kind of gross to me, but maybe if Nick likes "making" flavors, he will take his meds easier.

I hope his headaches have gone away. :wizard:

And to anyone else feeling down or sick :wizard: :wizard: :sunny:

Ok, so we DID go to the Cheesecake Factory, but I think I still might need to go again sometime, as it didn't turn out quite as planned ;)

The whole in-laws thing is a really long story, but let's just say that between them (and really Kyle), the day started out pretty crappy. 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave for Oxford, I was in tears and nowhere near being ready. I REALLY considered not going, but thought that might have been a bit impulsive. We did almost skip the CF though, so Kate - you weren't too far off. Instead, we went, everyone was there (except my dad who couldn't make it :guilty: ), and I pretended not to be grumpy.

It wasn't so much that anyone did anything out of the ordinary, I just too often cave to pressure frmo certain pushy people. And it drives me nuts, and SOME days out of the year (my wedding, and maybe even graduation to name a couple) you shouldn't push me. It's just not nice :p

I'll post pictures later. Overall, I'm glad I went. The whole "family interaction" part of it was wasted, so I'm still a bit disappointed by that... but the ceremony was nice, the weather was gorgeous, and the food wasn't too bad either :)

Side note though, that made the day oh-so-much better {sarcasm alert}

Denise -- I must have been either having sympathy lapses in judgment ;) (love you :teeth: ) or someone took my brain, too!

I was getting ready frantically, since we were already running late. I set my curling iron on this ledge in the bathroom, and it started to fall. Well, I reacted quickly but kept my head on straight enough to remember it was hot, so I ended up awkwardly trying to catch it, and banging my elbow on this corner nearby. It hurt like heck, but I assumed it was a funny bone type thing, that it would quickly subside.

11 hours later, it's diagnosed as what is probably a radial head fracture (elbow/arm), and now my right arm is in a sling! :rotfl:

It wasn't bad enough to displace bones or anything (Type I - just a 'hairline' type fracture in the bone), so the sling should only be a few days and the pain a few days longer.... but how stupid an injury to try an explain!

Baloo -- great to see you.

Happy belated birthday to your hubby Joe!

And that is really crappy about your arm/elbow. I hope today is a much better day for you. :sunny:

Jen - I'm so sorry the day was busted for you by people who should be making you happy - it was your day after all.

And OUCH! for your elbow... I'm not sure what would have been worse - a burnt hand or a broken elbow... maybe you should have just dropped the tongs!

Sending you :wizard: that the pain goes away.

Now scuttle off and plan a girls night to the Cheescake Factory to make up for it... speaking of which, anyone seen Julie lately??

oh help... I've been merrily typing away on the second half of my marketing plan... which has a 2200 word limit... and I've reached 4400!!!!

I'm going to have to do a fantastic editing job on it to squeeze that word count down... I just emailed my tutor to see what the absolute limit is before I get penalised... I usually work to 10% either way but this is more like 100%... oops...

I work in marketing so its the one thing I actually know something about :rotfl:

WOW, Jen... you took notes! DD19 (Kristin) will be home on Friday. DD27 (Kathrin) only comes home for visits now since she works and lives in Richmond. I miss her still. So that is one reason yesterday was so much fun! :goodvibes

I am so sorry that your day didn't go as planned yesterday. I have in law issues that are unresloved after 33 years of marriage so I can relate. I figure they are never going to be resolved so I might as well make the best of it. Sounds like you are trying to do the same as best you can.

And.. your poor elbow. I don't know which would have been worse either. I did the exact same thing a little over a month ago, only when I stepped away from the curling iron I hit the back end of the barrel with my elbow and knocked the hot end onto my wrist. It was NOT pretty and required bandaging twice a day and sulfadazine <sp> cream and is still healing. So.... I think lead time to the healing is better for your outcome. :goodvibes

I hope today is much better for you.

:wave2: everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know I didn't fall off the face of the earth.

Hope everyone is well, :grouphug: for all too.

I wore flip flops on my wedding day... but I did get married at Sunset Pointe... and I don't wear heels so wanted something comfy... they were pretty gold ones with flowers on to match my dress :)

Now that sounds pretty....I was thinking the ones you find at the Target dollar spot...the cheapo ones. I wore silver ballet slippers because I have never been good in heels and it was just shortly after my knee had given out on a flight of stairs. :guilty:

That sounds painful. Sorry the day didn't go as planned. Go back to the Cheesecake Factory and have a piece of cheesecake for the DDA.

For my wedding, I wore white square dance shoes.

Most of the guys wear their good suits and ties rather than tuxes around here for the prom. When I was in high school, the girls all wore the long dresses. Now there are a small percentage that wear short dresses. There were some that you could tell spent 100's of dollars on their dresses and accessories (which I would never spend on a one time dress - other than my wedding dress). Becky & Katrina have always bought their dresses off season so we could get a deal on them. Becky was going to wear flip flops to the dance since you couldn't see them anyway under her dress. I ended up buying her a fancy pair of slipper type shoes instead. I think one of the reasons for the flip flops is most of the girls take their shoes off to dance especially those that wear the high-heel, uncomfortable ones.

Get that red pen ready.....sounds like some major editing is the order of the day.

I posted this on the community board but I wanted to get some of your opinions. We will be redecorating our tv/playroom & was thinking about doing a Disney themed room. Has anyone here done this with a room in your house & care to share some ideas with me? The room is small 10x11 & it is carpeted in a mauve/pink which we can't change right now so we have to work around that color. Any ideas or photos to share would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think I'm going to turn in now. I've been making autograph pages for a girl at work who liked the ones I made for my December trip. When my computer died I lost all of those, too, so I have to start from scratch!

ETA: While I was searching for fonts, I found one for Paul - it was called "Bottled Farts."

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And what did it look like????????

Or did you have to smell it?????
