Pittsburgh is only about 45 minutes from my house. No need to drive another 2 hours to Cedar Point unless you like coasters! We do have Geauga Lake right up the road though...
I was just looking at the park website trying to see what my 6 & 4 yr olds are tall enough for.

Bernadette - I'm sending that photo to work! It'll be my new wallpaper...only 142 days until my trip!

Kate - It might be a promotion that AAA Ohio (different club than the one up here) is using to get new members. It's worth every penny, even if it is the basic membership, and if you're still stocking up on Payless shoes. You get 10%-20% off Payless shoes when you show you're membership card. And 10% off at Joes Crab Shack just to name a few.

I wish there could be a DDA meet up in Cleveland/Akron!! (insert whiny face here...) When is anyone going to Cedar Point or the Cleveland Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this summer??

My brother is in Canton, so we may be in that neck of the woods at some point this summer. We love the Cleveland Zoo.

OMG I can't believe I'm all caught up.
It has been a crazy week.
They have moved the closing up to Tuesday the 9.
A week early.
So I had to clean the house Wednesday after work.
As the carpet was being cleaned Thursday.
XDH is very much in a hurry to close.
The earlier we close, bigger refunds on home owners ins. & paid taxes. :Pinkbounc
He is a Superviser so he can leave work anytime.
I'm only a Tech so I can't, except for an emergancy.
Finished up Wednesday night around 9:00 P.M.
Not to leave out cutting my knee on a piece of glass
also left my purse @ Wendy's.
So called XDH after we finished.
I gave him a piece of my mind that I work for living
that I really didn't like cleaning ect. after work. :furious:
He shows up @ my work Thursday A.M sorry about last night.
I owe you 1.
I'll take you guys out for steak.
So I tell him (I can't eat steak D.A). :confused3
I can eat lobster & crab though.
So he's taking us to New Port Bay on Mothers Day.
It's about time this guy did something nice for a change.
He had better not forget.
If he does I still have CC #'s & we will go without him.
Oh I'll be sure to call & thank him for dinner after we finish. :lmao:

Good evening all. Just got home from work so I'm heading back to page 1994 in hopes of catching up. I thought that I'd be home alone tonight and have plenty of time to catch up, but it didn't work out as planned. Chris and Nick ended up coming home from the Boy Scout Camping trip as Nick collided with another boy during a game on wet grass and fell backwards hitting his head on the ground. Thankfully we have an EMT and a Peditrician that are leaders so he was well checked over. He apparently lost his color and threw up so they thought it best that he come home tonight and sleep in his warm bed as it was cold and rainy at the camp. Colby and Hunter were at my parents while I was at work and Colby had already decided that he wasn't spending the night. As soon as Hunter heard that Nick got hurt he was ready to come home too. So instead of just me we have a full house. Nick said that he no longer has a headache and his color is back so that is good news. The pediatrician thought that he might have a mild concussion at worst, but wasn't overly concerned. Nick just wanted to go to bed, but he had spent all day outside involved in busy activities which he isn't used to so I'm sure that he is exhausted. Chris just watched and he is exhausted. I'll be back catching up now.

Sounds like nothing went 'as planned.' I hope Nick is ok after a good nights sleep. The only thing that would concern me is the vomiting. That's a definite sign of a concusion. Keep an eye on him.

Wedding pictures! A little background info: I've known the bride since 1995, since I worked with her father at Princeton. We love her whole family and we hang out all the time!

Amy :)

Amy - the picture of Kevin and Alyssa at the church is WONDERFUL. That is a super job. I love the one of Alyssa dancing too. You caught her mid twirl!

Deb,
I am just hurting for you. That is so scary when a child hurts himself. Sorry you dont have the house to yourself, but it sounds like the family needed to be together.

I have trouble with motion sickness but was determined to ride MS at least once, the signs posted along the que made me nervous about getting sick but what really did me in were the "bags" on the console. I survived with only a mild case of queasiness, but I wasn't impressed enough to ride it again though. The whole family is anxious to give EE a try. :bounce:

Welcome to the DDA, Mrs. Heg! Glad to see you are posting on this thread now too.
:welcome:

Hi All! I'm back but still recovering....It was a great trip. The weather was perfect and I think I managed to pack some of that nice warm stuff and bring it home. It is stranage to be doing laundry today and see all the wintery clothes the kids were wearing when I was gone and it was in the 40's and rainy here.

I did lots of first on our trip-EE-it was a bit intense but great. I'm still not sure about Lizzie-I'm sure she'll love it but the Yeti does appear to be just about to grab you. Did SM for the first time and loved it. Did RnR for the 2nd time and was surprised that other than the start it is actually rather tame. I was terified the first time I did it. I've had to learn to be brave for Lizzie.

We did CS in Morocco and it was great. Did Boma for dinner and it was great. Had a rainbow margarita by Mexico-boy are those strong. Had a Curly Wurly from UK and Chik-fil-A at the airport.

The FLower Fest was awesome! I would definately go in May again. We had relatively low crowds. We were able to ride EE first when the park opened and then did Safari with little wait. We did fast pass a few rides but most rides had little wait (even when the sign outside would say 20 minutes).

We all really enjoyed POFQ. I think my DH will like it there when we go in August.

Thanks to Beth who did the Pooh design. I had all the Pooh characters sign a card "Can't wait to celebrate your birthday with you." I just need to make the T now. Thanks also to Kristen-I used your designs to make a Tigger card for Emma and Mickey card for Joe "Can't wait to see you in August.". I bought Emma a Pooh T and Joe a Test Track Mickey T. I also bought the Test Track Mickey for Joe and I have a Tigger from the Disney Store for Emma. I'll have to take photos and post them. I'm still uploading all my trip photos.

Vicky-did you get my email? It was so hard to take photos with the camera phone. It was so bright that you couldn't see the screen. I also send a post card via snail mail. Did you have any notes for me? :teeth:

After I do my laundry I think I'll start packing for my next trip. :cool1: I think the crowds will be a lot bigger. I've been reading about folks being offered an upgrade out of Pop to a 1 bedroom at SSR. I think they haven't offered it to me because I've got a AP discount on the room. I hope things aren't too crazy when I there with Lizzie or for the DDA trip. I'm also a bit worried about how hot it would be. It was 93 on Thursday. I would be happier with 87.

I've got laundry and house work to do. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Chanon-I've got your brochures. I'll go to the PO on Monday.

Denise-I never did make it to the PO before my trip but I WILL go on Monday.

Bernadette

Welcome home, Bernadette. I am so glad you had a good time :goodvibes Your picture is extraordinary!

Kristine, they both look great! If I had to choose one, I would go with the green star :goodvibes

So I thought it was odd Amy and Kevin were going to a wedding tonight -

until I remembered I got married on a Wednesday - and it got me thinking

did most of you get married on a Saturday or was it a different day of the week

and DAWN - you are supposed to be emailing me a wedding picture!!

We got married on a Saturday at 11 AM, had the reception until about 4 PM, then had a post reception reception at my Parents house that lasted until the next day. That was so much fun, but we almost missed our flight to WDW as we didn't wake up. Thank goodness my Dad showed up to drive us to the airport. :thumbsup2

Great job, Matt.

Nicholas' had a game today too. And they didn't lose today, for a change!! Of course they didn't win either. It was a 2-2 tie, which is better than losing!

Today was picture day at soccer as well. I will post his pix a little later. I would post the team picture, but I don't think other parents would appreciate it.

YAY :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: for Matt AND Nicholas!

Deb -

sorry things didn't go as planned - I would wake Nick up every two hours just to make sure he is okay

when Nick was one he fell off a chair and promplty began throwing up - I called the doctor and she said that I should just make sure that I could wake him up every couple of hours

I hope everyone had a good day. We went out for dinner to Red Lobster. One of the kids favs. I think they just like to watch all the lobsters in the tank. Then we stopped and played putt putt. Alyssa got bored a third of the way into it and spent the rest of the time either riding her putter like a horse or singing into it like a microphone.

Sounds like a fun evening, Tammi.
