I've got a few pages to catch up on, but I thought you might like to see what I've been up to the last couple of days. My job for the travelin' Pals was to make them blankets. I did that yesterday and had a bit of material left that I thought would make cute sleep pants. I tried to find a pattern last night, but no luck in the 10" size for boy dolls. I ended up creating my own today and made these sleep pants. I need to locate more material in my basement in order to send a pair of pants and a pair of shorts with each one. These are what I have done so far.

Aren’t you just the Martha Stewart today.

Those are just so cute, can you send me the pattern you created?

I have quite a few too - but I don't wear a watch either Kate! Can't stand them on my wrist. So my best friend Rose bought me a Mickey pocket watch and I never used that! Go figure.

And Paula - what's a CSA?? Remember, non military here! Is that a synonym for stapling something to a loved one?? :teeth:

Community Service Announcement - no military speak there!!

If it makes you feel better...

Our prices have gone up recently to ridiculous levels - they have been at $4.50 for a while but are currently $6.11 a gallon. Yup that's dollars I just did the conversion...

Hi Glynis! We absolutely loved everything! Bryce and Zion were both amazing. Everything is just so beautiful, and so different from where we live. Lake Powell was very pretty, and I can see that it would be very popular in the summer. We took a boat tour on the lake and saw the Glen Canyon Dam, and then the next morning we took a tour of a slot Canyon outside of Page and took a lot of really cool pictures.

I would highly recommend Utah as a beautiful vacation spot to anyone who likes outdoor type activities. We took a lot of hikes, and a ton of pictures. We kept stopping the car to look and take pictures, we were laughing at ourselves that we kept being amazed by the beautiful changing landscapes. It seems that every few minutes we would see something else that we had never seen before.

Some day if we have more time I would definitely like to spend more time travelling and seeing the country, and spending more time at each spot.

What is the rest of Utah like? I hope we get a chance to see more of it for ourselves some day.

Ellen

I'm so glad that you liked Utah! It's a pretty amazing place. We have mountain ranges, deserts, forests. Pretty much anything you can think of. We even have a Salt Lake. One of the things I like best about it is that there are 6 distinct seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Finter, Winter, and Sprinter. It's really cool.

There are some really neat things to do, outdoors-wise, as well as a lot of cultural offerings too. We have 2 professional opera companies, 1 professional ballet company, several museums all over the state. Several different species of dinosaur have been found in Utah, so there are a lot of natural history/dinosaur museums. We have several professional theater companies throughout the state.

I highly recommend it to everyone at least once.

Kate, my birthday is July 20th and I would be happy to have an un-birthday any day.:cool1:

Now that I caught up!! You all were chatty while I was at dinner.

Anyway, I have to brag on my oldest. Cassidy has a passion (notice I said passion and not knack) for volleyball so she joined the 8th grade volleyball team...she has been on C team all season long and they played the quarterfinal game tonight. She was so excited, all but one of her serves made it over the net!!! On her way home she asked if we were going out I said not unless you are paying and so that's what she did!! She paid for us to go to Chick-Fil A. She really does have her sweet moments!! :teeth:

Right across from Chick Fil A is the Disney Store the cast member said that all snowglobes are on sale starting tomorrow!! Tshirts are also on sale...not as cute as the DDA's but still inexpensive!!
