I have found my own definition of h e double hockey sticks -- it is trying to read every last page since I left on Thursday. Which I did - for nearly four hours. I did NOT take notes, so I know I will leave many people out. But here is what I will comment on:

Baloo- Paul was right - once in a Baloo moon is too far apart!!!

Paula - you are one funny chick!! I LOVE your sense of humor and your girls are adorable!

CRUSH/DISNEYDDA/WDWFANZ- I figured out two of the three pretty quickly and I have an idea of the third... But that was some funny stuff!!! I really miss this kind of fun!

Paul - aka DH - once the cats away the mice will play, huh??? Glad to see you posting - stick around!!

Tom - your daughter is adorable and stick around, Paul could use the company.

Cincinatti DDAers- too bad Paul didn't make it - he'll go pretty far for Chick Fil-A, but I don't think he'd go without me!

Kevin - how could you do that to me??? Its bad enough to eat a Curley Wurley, but did you have to enjoy it so much AND take a picture????

Denise - good luck today - I'm always thinking about my three figs.

Elin - glad you enjoyed what you could of a difficult situation. I thought of you often!!

Like I said -- I didn't take notes and I read each and every post. Hope all of you are well. Thanks for keeping your "eyes" on my husband -- he sure sounded lonely. How else do you explain that he watched High School Musical?????? (note - I haven't seen it yet!!)

Hi Marti, nice to see you back.

Hello all! I have not posted in a while, but I have been "lurking". All this turtle talk kinda scared me :scared1: I am a little shy and it is hard for me to come out of my "shell". :teeth: We just got Leighanna's pictures back and I wanted to share. I have enjoyed seeing all the DDA's kids.

Glynis-if you figure it out let me know! I've been working on DH for a long while. He figures he went in Dec 1994 for 3 days so he's seen it all. I really thought the kids having a great time would win him over but they haven't yet. Part of me really wishes he'd just stay home but another part really wishes I'll discover a way to get him to share the magic with us.

I guess I am lucky, because once Alan gets to DL, he enjoys himself, and hads a great time. His big problem is that he doesn't see the need to go every year! I could go every week and never get bored. Alan can go once every 5 years and be satisfied.

Glynis if you slip him the special DDA drink :drinking: (yellow and red kool-aid) then he will LOVE Disney as much as you.

Beth- :grouphug: well, now you've inspired me!!!

I never gained much pregnant 15 pounds with Lizzie & Joe and just 8 pounds with Emma and she was 8 lbs 13 oz. BUT...I had a thyroid problem after I had Joe and gained over 40 pounds in a few shorts months and I wasn't thin to start. The thyroid problem went away but not the weight and then I was pregnant with Emma. When Emma was 1 I decided it was time to take the time for myself. I switched to Diet Coke and stopped going to Dunkin Donuts. I quickly lost 10 pounds and then joined WW and lost another 45 pounds. Since my Mom got sick a year ago I have been off plan. I made myself get on the scale today and I'm up 10 to 12 pounds. I would like to loose those 10 plus another 20 but that is still like 30 pounds over the WW weight. I'll be 45 soon so the weight goes up. I have never been the WW weight at my full adult height. I don't want to be a size 6 or 8 or even 10. I'd be pretty happy with a size 16 and very happy with a 14.

When I joined WW I rewarded myself $10 Disney Dollars for every pound lost. I figured I was saving by not going to Dunkin Donuts and brown bagging my lunch.

SO...how much can I loose in a week before my trip? Even a couple of pounds would make those shorts more comfortable. And 20 pounds seems like a reasonable goal for August and I know that would make me more comfortable there.

So...I'll join you.

Come on over to the weight loss accountability thread! We'll help keep you on track!

Off to continue my projects. I got the blankets and burp cloths done, now I have the pillowcase for my friend and a shirt for another friend. (no, I don't have that many friends... I pay them so I can call them my friends ;) )

Chat with you all later.

Shouldn't I be more excited about my trip in a week? I'm feeling guilty for leaving the kids & DH at home. I've told them (uh... the kids) that I'm going on a business trip in FL and that if they are good I could get them a surprise at the airport. I haven't told Joe or Emma that I'm taking Lizzie on 5/19. I know Lizzie will have a great birthday trip and Joe did have a solo trip last Aug (and will likely have one in Oct) but I just know that Joe will be heartbroken. I think he's my real Disney fanatic-he loves TTA and CoP. He told me a few weeks ago "Mom I've never been to Disney when I'm 5 so I want to go tomorrow." I think I might make a count down chain for him for our Aug trip before I tell him about Lizzie's trip. But maybe a chain 100 links long would make it worse???? He's also been have some middle child problems lately too. I know he feel neglected-Lizzie needs attention after school with homework and Emma like being a baby. My poor little sensitive guy.

I think I'm also not too excited because I've got a lot to do to get ready-pack, make a shirt & card for Lizzie for the Pooh characters to sign, get stuff ready for DH and lots of work too. I want to make more autograph cards for my trip with Lizzie so I should probably do that before I go too.

Well I guess I better get to bed so I can face all that work.

Poor Joe! Could you have his favorite character autograph a postcard on your trip next week, and send it to him? It might go a long way toward helping him feel special.

Don't feel guilty about going, though. As mommies, we need our down time, if only to recharge our internal batteries. I'm doing it in June. My kids know where I'm going, and while they are not happy about being left behind, they know that mommy will come back refreshed and happier.

We do a countdown calendar for our kids that starts about a month away from trip start. I got the links from mouseforless.com. They are adorable, and my kids looked forward each day to taking one down. It helped pass the time!

Guys - could we have a noticeboard in the new site? For stuff like this?

A wanted section - things they don't sell in your area... crocs and candy, stuff you need from WDW - mouse ears etc

And a I have for sale section - old Disney memorabilia you just can't house, crocs that don't fit - old MNVSHP colstumes - baby clothes...

What do you all think?

ps Denise I hope someone can find the crocs for you :)

I think that's a great idea, Clare!

I decided to post a Before and During picture of myself to help Denise make up her mind about NutriSystem ;)

Actually, I was cleaning out my pictures and saw the ones from Christmas and was shocked at how different I look now! I do realize that the angle of the second picture is a bit different, but now I know why my friends are suddenly taking notice.

Speaking of the dryer trick - I managed to stretch my straps :cheer2: but a little too much :sad1: :rotfl:

I put them round the back of the shoe like Julia suggested which would have been fine if I'd then taken them back off and put them round my heel while they were still warm, but I left them round the back of the shoe till they cooled down and now they're a little too stretched!

Oh well at least I can wear the straps now - but they're not exactly holding my foot in the shoe :rotfl:

Love that design BTW I just saw them on ebay :thumbsup2

I think I read on another thread that someone else had done this. Then they put them back in the dryer, and put them on with the strap around their ankle, and it worked. You could try it!

You look great, Elin! Congratulations on your continuing success!! :woohoo:

I remember something else that I wanted to comment on from my catch up session:

Denise did give Paul the nickname Hunka but it was

Tammi that named him Skunka

I never laughed so hard at that one -- thanks so much Tammi!!!!!!
