Jo,

That is so awsome.
Just remember it does get very humid in Hotlanta :lmao:
That is what my sister says.

Terry

What the hay, so does Illinois.
I spent 35 years there & never had AC.
I'm still hanging in there.
I'm just so sick of rain.
Oregon is nice, but.

Just stopping by...

Not in Vegas yet....I am just in a cranky/depressed mood! I am not really a moody chick...so not sure what this all means...so if you don't see me around this is why. Hopefully the fog will lift soon....

Kristine

Kristine,
Take care.
I can understand the funk.

Terry

I need someone to congratulate me and Alan is away, so I'm turning to my family for back pats. I made my goal today of finishing one of my final projects for the semester!!!! It's not even due until May 5, but it's done and submitted to the Professor's email. Hooray! It's such a load off my chest. Now I have to create a web page for a library with a link to a blog, take one final exam (ick) and I'll be done until September! Hooray for me! I made it through this semester! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

I know this isn't a big deal to everyone, but it's HUGE to me! Thanks for letting me cheer!
hooray  :cheer2:

Amy - I'm going to give you my best moving tip - pay attention young lady! The best thing to do when packing up your kitchen is to buy the largest package of Bounty paper towels from one of the "clubs". When you pack your plates place two paper towels between each plate. I used to use newspaper but that got messy fast. Once you get to your new house and unpack - place the paper towels in a large stack and then use these same "packing" paper towels to clean the new house. Double duty! And it saves on packing materials. Everybody I've told this to and who's used it says it works for them. Of course, with the stemware I don't know if its enough so I would switch to bubble wrap for that. Good luck!
Good tip! I used our bath/hand/dish towels to pack Corning Ware and serving pieces and that worked well.

Well, I don't think I'm going to be staying up for any late night posting parties. I'm totally wiped out! Herding 4 kids around a zoo by myself wore me out! It was fun and I took a ton of pictures. I'll post the best tomorrow. I even found some "special" pictures for my DDA family.

Good night, all!

I was in shock! It definitely shows you that it isn't anything to do with their talent at this point! It is purely a popularity contest.

Personally, I think it's been a popularity contest since day one :rolleyes1

Did you get some pictures of turtles? ;)

Speaking of turtles, there is a giant tortoise in Ice Age 2. I couldn't help but think of you all and chuckle.

Great News to pass along!! :woohoo:

All my hard work has paid off.
We excepted an offer on the house.
$89,000.00 more than we paid for it, less than 3 years ago.
Passed inspection with flying colors.
All is set for a May 15 closing date.
I have an apartment @ work ready for move in May 1.
School isn't out till middle of June.
Then I start looking fo a transfer.
This means I will have to move 2x's instead of 1.
I think my scanity is worth it though.

I can't tell you all how much you have helped me get through this.

Thank you.
Thank all of you.

I'm off to bed a bit early tonight....

We just finished watching Memoirs of a Geisha. Has anyone seen it? It was very interesting, but too long (or slow? I'm not sure), IMO. At least that's how I felt tonight, I just couldn't stick with it for some reason. :confused3 It was definitely neat stuff though, that I didn't really know anything about. And then there was a common shot with a pagoda that looked like World Showcase  :teeth:

Have a good night!

Still looking @ Atlanta.
I'll start looking @ opening after school is out.

I'm off to bed too. Two late nights have wiped me out. I wish I could stay up and play though. It sure was fun!

You're right. That is why I don't normally watch reality tv. However, Becky & Chuck like it and they like me to be in the living room with them rather than running off to another room. I should have known better than to stay & watch!!!

Hello DDA, pixie dust extrodinaire.... :wizard: I'm going from my very poor memory. I didn't take notes.

Amy ...adorable pictures

Elin... safe travels and big hugs coming your way.

Marti... enjoy your trip.

Kristen... :grouphug: :grouphug:

Kate, I hope your knee gets better with no surgery.

I'm going to bed early. All of this excitment has got me exhausted...

Still haven't watched Desperate Housewifes. My son-in-law had surgery today and I watched the kids while my daughter went back to her job.

I really have to get over my OCD about reading all of the notes. Have to learn how to skim...

And completely off topic :offtopic: does anybody else watch South Park?

Probably don't want to admit it here for all to know, so you can pm me!!! :teeth:

I just ordered cookie cutters for Kyle's Bob the Builder party!! I am going to attempt the infamous "Amy" cut out cookies!!
I ordered a hard hat, a construction cone, a hammer and a shovel.
Normally when I do these cookies, I get out my tubes and outline, then flow etc. a la Cookies by Design. This time I am going to try Amy's way with the powdered fondant and the sprinkles- I hope it takes less time than hand decorating those things!!
but I do have a Bob the Builder cookie cutter that I will probably still do the old way ;)

I have been wearing my crocs to physical therapy and yesterday FOUR - yes I said 4 people commented on how much they loved them and one of my PTs went to try to buy them last night but couldn't find them!

Then today I wore my Niles and my other PT said to me - you always have such great shoes on!!

They are pretty worried about my knee - I did better today than yesterday and he said today that I have improved since I started - that I basically had no quad then - but that I still have a LONG road ahead of me and then he scared me b/c he asked if the Doctor said anything about surgery to me -
he said it is not common with this condition but sometimes it is the only thing to do

ETA: they are very concerned about the total collapse I had on Sunday

Kate does your PT want you to rest or move around?
When my back goes out CP always wants me to keep moving.
All I want to do is relax.
You take care & do what they say.
So you can go & have fun with everyone next month.

OMG- I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But don't spoil it for me! I will watch the re-run at 11pm!!
FYI: A tiny part of me chose to name my son Kyle because that makes me Kyle's Mom - and we all know that Kyle's Mom is a big 'ol witch (substitute the W with a B)
