Hi everyone,

Thank you for all your posts and PMs regarding our open house today. I'm disappointed to report that nobody showed up though. I know our house has only been on the market for a week, but it's discouraging that we haven't had a single person walk through yet.

But at least the house is clean...it'll just take maintenance now, and hopefully not the back-breaking scrubbing Kevin and I have done for the past week. We're both exhausted and crabby.

Amy

I'm sorry that you didn't have more luck today. Lots of :wizard: that the traffic will pick up soon. At least the cleaning is done and out of the way. :grouphug:

Another busy day is over!!! Happy Birthday to Skunka and Alyssa party: :bday: party:

Hunter only lasted 10 minutes last night on his backyard campout, Nick made it until 6 AM, then came in the house and went back to sleep in his nice warm bed. Chris toughed it out of course. Our temps got very cold here last night and we got a very heavy frost. Chris said when he unzipped the tent this morning snow fell in :rotfl:

We went to our Maple Orchard today to clean the lines. That is when we pump clean water up through the lines to clean them out. Each tap has to be closed off so that the water will move up the line. It takes forever and it is all up hill. I keep telling my brother that I am not a Mountain Goat and we shouldn't try to do it all in one day, but it is useless. Chris and I were both exhausted and our feet were killing us. The boys tried to help, but get bored easily. My wild child Colby was accidentally soaked by Hunter so we removed his shirt to get him to stop crying. Well, we all know that Colby is accident prone and while trying to keep up with Nick he tripped and fell onto a fallen tree. He got some good scratches on his arm, chest and cheek. He didn't want me to clean them up, but I had to get the dirt off. I cleaned them and covered them with antibiotic cream so I'm sure he will be fine. That kid manages to get hurt just walking through the woods. It is a good thing that he was my third son because if he was the first born he would have been an only child. Chris and I have said that for years. He is the one that is going to give us a run for our money :sad2:

When I got home from the Orchard I finished cleaning the camper and then sorted through all the info the kids brought home on Friday. They both have major projects done on May 26th. Looks like I will need to start budgeting their time.

That is aweful. I'm sure you'll convence him to let you in there to clean it up. Colby is the same way. I hope he feels better soon.

Deb

Thanks, he is sleeping so I will put some merquirachrome(sp??) on tomorrow.
We used it in SA and I have used it here but the kids hate it. :teeth:

:grouphug: I know what you mean about the solitude driving you  . It is lonely to live so far away from family when you don't have any friends. DH was just mentioning moving to St. Louis area as we would only be 3 hours away from family (sure beats a 3 day drive) and they have an airport so he can fly out easily for his business trips. Of course, I'm like we don't know the area, there could be a lot of crime. I'm such a worryer and that moving to a new place is hard for me. Good luck with the job search. :wizard:

There are tons of suburban areas in St. Louis that are great. Many of them are low crime and you're still about 30 minutes from the airport. I really like it. Also, there are lots of things to do - zoo, art museum, science museum, history museum, etc that are all free. There are several really good school districts as well. My family lives in West County (there is North, West and South) and they all like it.

Poor colby :grouphug:
Deb glad you had a productive day.

My friend from Australia just called, I gave her this site to look at, they will be cruising with us in Alaska and then going to Disneyland after that. It was great hearing from her - it is a public holiday there so they are all home - they are 16 hours ahead of us.

So, May 18th-ers....what are your plans for Saturday night and on? :rolleyes1

Denise,

I am glad to hear that Rees's test went well and that the kids enjoyed the movie. I hope that you find out some answers on Tuesday. Sending :wizard: that Rees will not need surgery.

ETA: I can tell I am a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and Pieces addict as I cannot type Rees' name without adding the extra "E" :rotfl2:

Kate,

Sending :wizard: that nick has a good night and you quickly figure out what is causing his head pain.

Becky

Monica,

I hope your finger heals quickly and you only have to wear the immobiulizer for tens days.

When I was in the 6th grade I had to wear a cast on my arm up to my shoulder for 6 weeks and a cast right below my elbow for 3 weeks. It was no fun as I had broken my wrist in three places.

Becky how was your weekend.

My weekend was good. I realxed and didn't do much of anything yesterday. Today I went to Cabela's, I didn't get to Cracker barrel, because I didn't want to wait more than an hour. I did eat at Friendly's instead and got some yummy Vienna Mocha Chunk ice cream.
