I have a question about boys:

Cause I just don't understand them!!! Julia was never a physical child - she likes to run around and dance

but Nick - wants to fight and play star wars and jump off things and turns ANYTHING into a sword - he likes to hit - you know like Karate and stuff

He's not being malicious - that is just how he plays -

is this normal and if so how long is it going to last?
It's normal and I think it lasts until they're about 45 or so :confused3

Last night Christopher couldn't fall asleep and about 9:30 I went to put something in the room next to his and I could hear him talking to himself. He was saying "Yeah, baby, you wanna piece of me?" Then Hiyah (the karate chop thing).

does anyone know when Disney will officially release the dates for the christmas party. Also when will they go on sale.

:lmao: :lmao: Bill is just finally retiring his light saber...or is he??!! :teeth:

Jennifer, your friend and family are in my prayers.

Vicki, the shoes look great!

Heidi, you are quite the watch collector. They are really cool.

Just got home. Rees did well. Doctor is adding another med for his anxiety, but we are going to wait until after all the GI stuff is figured out. And she wants him off his ADHD meds for the summer to see how he does. Good appointment.
I'm glad to hear that things went well. May things continue to look better. :wizard:

Completely normal. I think boys are into more "active" play, the roughhousing and such.

I can tell you that it lasts at least until 6 years, 4 months and 23 days.

Well crap!!!

Ok - I am happy that it is normal

but I told Steve he had to have a talk with Nick about it tonight so that he starts playing nicer -

I guess that would be a waste of Steve's time - I guess when I started by telling Steve that he was to blame for Nick being so rough - that I should have known it was a life long boy thing!!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: That's so funny!! My Christopher uses that same phrase all the time...it drives me CRAZY!!

Mmmm... I can tell it lasts a little longer than that: 10 years 3 months 11 days and going... And I have 2 of them! :woohoo: (Well the other one is almost 6).
On the other hand, can you tell me how long does a sweet little girl lasts? Mine is 17 months, and she is just adorable! :cloud9:

Monica

Kate-

I also don't have boys but from what I have observed it takes a LONG while for them to outgrow it if they ever do. DH's male relatives don't get him because he is grown out of it and they haven't. It seems just like there are tomboys and docile girls there are extra active and docile boys. You've got an active one!!

Good news there - we are at 4.5 and it is still going strong - she would pick dress up, tea parties and snuggling with mommy any chance she gets!!

Ahhh...she doesn't still have it, does she? I've been trying to find the name of it so I could check EBay for other pieces. I probably won't find anything, though, it's been discontinued for several years. I love the stripes, they're so cheery. They make me think of a circus or a hot air balloon.

ETA: Did she have the stripes or the gingham? The gingham is Pottery Barn Kids and the striped material is Sumersault brand.
I think hot air ballons would make for a neat nursery theme. :goodvibes

Anyone had the new Diet Dr. Pepper Berries and Cream? It is soooooooo delish! It's actually booted the Diet Coke out and replaced it as my fave. I'm addicted. Oh, and the new Coke Blak is really good too. Yea! New drinks!

DH and I were wondering about the Dr. Pepper. Dh loves Dr. Pepper, so I may have to surprise him with a can or two when he gets home.

Mine, other than on hormonal days, is still a sweet girl at 2 weeks 5 days short of her 14th birthday.

Any day now.....:lmao:

I think it is the second child thing. If you ask Kate about Julia, she will probably tell you how easy going she is and sweet and etc. Nicholas is like that for me, but Alyssa (2nd child) is VERY headstrong and she has a mind of her own. We go through daily battles about what shoes and clothes she will wear. The rule is you have to wear old shoes/clothes to daycare (the 3 days that she goes) but she wants to wear her pretty dresses and white dress shoes on a daily basis. For the past 2 months she has been asking to wear her summer 'spin around' dresses even though it has been way to cold, which promptly lead to arguments. This, coming from a child just shy of 4! I dread the teenage years!!!

ETA: See, I told you Kate would disagree. ;)

She had the stripes, and no, she doesn't have it anymore. Her baby just graduated to a canopy bed (toddler size), and she got rid of all baby stuff since she's done. Sorry!

I have a question for you all regarding the Pixie Dust Fund

would you like me to send you pms to let you know if we are going to do something? some things I can announce in the thread - but in the case like Elin's obviously we don't want to announce on the thread that we are doing something - what do you all think?

I would just send out a pm that says -

The Pixie Dust will be sending something to so and so

that way - if you were wondering if we were going to - you would know
I think that would be a great idea than if someone wanted to make a con tribution they could.

I'm off to karate class with Nicholas. Tonight is belt graduation and he should be getting his brown belt. I'll try to post some pictures.

We had our head strong days with Cassidy but Abi, the second child, is the most agreeable child....she doesn't like to cuddle except on her own terms but she loves to dress pretty, still plays babies (at almost 10), is artistic. We went to a parenting class once that said look at your child at 3 and that is how they will be as teenagers. So far it's holding true....head strong and vicious days sometimes but mostly a sweet, agreeable kid.
