You guys are impossible to keep up with. I have been on and off trying to get things packed for Emma's Kindergarten overnight camping trip on Thursday. The amount of stuff they are requiring we bring for what will amount to about 28 hours is crazy.
3 changes of clothes,as well as underwear and socks. Pajamas and 2 pairs of shoes. Pillow & sleeping bag. Warm jacket and rain gear and then of course bathroom stuff. How do they expect a 6 year to carry all this?

I'm really going to bed now, but I just had to make two comments for now:

Kelli - I'm so glad that you were able to get the Minnie. I felt bad when I asked Kate to change it to Goofy after all of her hard work, but it worked out just great for both of us.

Elin, I feel your pain. My mother died 12 years ago today (it was on my son's 26th birthday, and it was also HER mother's birthday). Time will soften the pain, and you will see her in yourself and remember her through so many things that you do exactly the way she did, and don't even realize it now. Our loved ones really do live on through us.

Nite all.

I don't know, but it sounds like fun! I always loved class sleepovers :teeth:

Surprisingly, he hasn't said much. When I told him about it, I thought for sure I'd hear how crazy I am. Instead, he just said "ok, write it in my palm pilot so I don't forget". And then nothing.

So it came up again tonight, and I asked him if he really minded going for a BBQ with total strangers (since I sort of just told him we were going without much conversation  ) and he said something along the lines of talking about the DDA all the time anyway.... blah blah blah....

I assured him I'd try and fill him in though a bit, at least on names and maybe what families belong together. Right now when I talk about anyone from here it's always "[Amy] who? Oh, from the boards". So I'm pretty sure he might stop listening at that point.... which means you might all be one person in his brain :rotfl:

Maybe we should make Kyle his own set of Cliff's notes...

Amy :)

Steve says I talk too much about the boards too - maybe they can bond and start a support group

I was thinking we could start a DDA Turtle thread for them to complain about us on!!! :lmao:

I'd love the recipe!!! Please, pretty please????

Calico Beans

20oz can Pork & Beans
15oz can #2 Butter Beans
15oz Can Kidney Beans
1/2 pound hamburger
1/2 pound bacon
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon Dried Mustard
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 medium onion
2 dashes Worcestershire Sauce
2 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet

Brown and drain hamburger. Cook bacon and chop into small pieces. Drain all cans of beans except one. Mix all ingredients together well. Pour into greased 12x8 casserole pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serves 8-10.

this recipe is soooooo yummy. It's hearty enough to be almost a meal vs a side dish. One of my faves. I've made it with sugar free ketchup and the sugar-free brown sugar.

3333 was my plan. (Seriously :teeth: )

So Jen -

I just told you that you are only allowed to post 22 more posts - will you use them wisely?!?!? :lmao:

For now, I can do that.

Because then I'll have 667 until my next milestone to use wisely. And 444 from that point (or even fewer if you break it down and stop along the way (ie 4321, etc)).

Always gotta be looking ahead .... :teeth:

ETA: And using a calculator if I'm a little unsure of the math. I wouldn't want to get all excited and start posting about a milestone and be a hundred off!!!! Who would do that?! :confused3 :rotfl:

Can I just tell you about our little drama since Friday? We're trying to teach the kids to wipe themselves after going to the bathroom. Davis needed to go Friday afternoon, so I told him to try to wipe himself, and when he was done I'd come check. Well, he calls me into the bathroom. He had used about 15 baby wipes and completely clogged the toilet. We tried everything to unclog it. So finally today I took the kids to Lowes and bought a powerful plunger and a toilet auger. After 3 hours tonight and slitting my arm wide open on the auger, I finally got in unclogged! the bathroom was a disaster, and it took DH and me another hour to clean it. But we saved a big Plumber bill. I was pretty proud of myself!

Yeah!!!

Impressive. What a big girl!

Kate, why haven't you told everyone about the great lunch Nick had today?

Seriously, I told Kevin what an ingenious idea this was at dinner, when I provided Alyssa with four things on her plate and she ate practically nothing!!!

Amy :)

Hmm.... if I remember correctly, that was MY first time making fun of someone on this thread.

(Not this post, but an earlier one regarding such a matter).

:rolleyes1

HA! I actually haven't made it in a while. May need to buy the stuff to make it this weekend. It is so good and lots of flavor. Has a little kick to it.
