Yuck - our local weatherman just said we broke over 100 degrees today :earseek: - and it will be 98 again tomorrow! Any of you Northeners want some heat shipped your way?!

Marci and Jennifer - I think we might be in for a LONG summer! Blech.

That's funny. I found out the day after Christmas I was pregnant. I suspected on Christmas with my family, but we couldn't go get a pg test. John went out at 7am the next day and bought a test. We found out on his b'day that it was triplets (Jan 9). Best Christmas ever and what a way to bring in New Years 2000!

Here's my prego-story...
I really wanted a June baby since I did want to be pregnant for one moment of summer (I have a VERY low tolerance for heat and can pass out on a moment's notice if it gets too hot- this happens at least 2 times each summer :confused3 ). Anyway, we did the natural family planning with the taking your temperature and all that jazz so I was pretty confident when it happened. I can't explain it, I just knew that it happened. My period was due on Tuesday. On the Thursday night before, I bought one of those "5 days early" tests and got up at 4AM Friday morning when DH gets up for work to take the test. We set it on the bathroom counter and paced the hallway for 5 minutes waiting. We went in and saw the line and started jumping up and down like a couple of crazed monkeys!
We told my parents that night by giving them a bottle of champagne to take with them on their annual 2 week trip to Door County saying they could toast becoming grandparents. We told his parents the next night when we took his mom out for her birthday and gave her a baby picture frame.

Can I just tell you about our little drama since Friday? We're trying to teach the kids to wipe themselves after going to the bathroom. Davis needed to go Friday afternoon, so I told him to try to wipe himself, and when he was done I'd come check. Well, he calls me into the bathroom. He had used about 15 baby wipes and completely clogged the toilet. We tried everything to unclog it. So finally today I took the kids to Lowes and bought a powerful plunger and a toilet auger. After 3 hours tonight and slitting my arm wide open on the auger, I finally got in unclogged! the bathroom was a disaster, and it took DH and me another hour to clean it. But we saved a big Plumber bill. I was pretty proud of myself!

You are one brave woman, in my book!!!!

It's hot here too (not 100). But it was 89 today. It's a hot Spring. Wait till the humidity kicks in!

I saw that - I think we might all need to stop hanging around together as we seem to be morphing into the collective!!

I wish I had known about that "trick photography" earlier. It would have saved me a lot of money.
This camera apparently has an option to make people look skinnier. Whether or not it actually works I do not know.

I got an email today from another DISer who saw me on these boards. Anyway, her name is Nanette and she is from Fredericksburg, VA, too. She is getting ready to take her girl scouts to WDW and was looking for some design ideas. Let's encourage her to come out of hiding and join in the DDA fun.

Nanette, if you are reading this, jump in an get to know us. We are crazy, but a lot of fun!

Come on, Nanette! We love to have newcomers to our group! Just jump in where you are and we'll get you up to speed! This is the best place on the DIS!

I know. I grew up in Houston - thank goodness Dallas doesn't have quite that same level of humidity!!

We even had brown-outs across the city today - I don't think I've ever heard of us having those!

But we're supposed to get back down in the 70's on Wed.

We didn't tell anyone until we were about 9 weeks as I'd had 2 miscarriages previously. But at 9 weeks I was measuring around 16 weeks, so it was s little hard to hide!
