When in August are you going? We just changed our trip from December to August, the 20th - 26th.

As much as I would love to fly, I love roadtrips. Not to mention I can then take whatever I want!

We will be at Disney 8/22-9/1. Yea, I do like the advantage of bringing everything & the kitchen sink with me! We flew last October & we had 8 large suitcases (2 while suitcases filled with bottled water...sorry I won'y pay for water at Disney even with the free dining snack credit..gotta have a minnie fruit bar..mmmm) & 5 carryons...I guess I have a packing problem..

I went to the mall this afternoon to go to Payless to check out these Airwalks you are all talking about. To my surprise they have closed :( Tells you how often I go to the mall lol

I was at the mall 2 weeks ago and ours had closed too, I had to call SIL to see where one was but they never had the blue tie dye at the 2 I went to.

Just back. Rees was really anxious which turned out to be a good thing. Said they'd request mainstream classroom and have him not pulled out of class for any help as they're afraid it'll just make him that much more nervous. Instead, have the resource teacher and therapists come to him in class. I'm very pleased.

Asked about Disney, and they will actually approve his trip because he is Special Needs and has anxiety disorder. Said it was much more important for him to go when it wouldn't stress him out and be low crowds. I just have to tell them when, and they'll write the letter. Said it would completely excuse all 3 kids for a week! So look at my ticker now!

Off to Target to shop for the Easter Bunny. Be back later.

Denise,

That is wonderful news, I'm sure it's a relief to be able to plan things now!!!!
I think mainstreaming is wonderful, I think that the worst thing you can do is seclude special needs children. Kyle gets pulled out of class at least once a day for him to work with his braille specialist, OT, and I always feel like he is missing out on SO much, I think it is much better the way they are doing it for Rees!!! Luckily he can work w/ his mobility teacher right after school and then he brings him home. It works out great because he is now teaching him how to walk around our neighborhood!! Here's some :wizard: that Rees has a good weekend, and that the Easter is good to all of your kids!!!!

Julie :goodvibes

ETA-We went the first week of October last year and we had a blast!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Great news all round :thumbsup2 Is Rees feeling a little better today?

We just got back from taking the kids & one of their friends to see
THE WILD... well, I love Disney, I support Disney..but oh man...
It was like watching Lion King & Madacascar rolled together but with characters that are not likable. They ripped off older Disney ideas..nothing original....wierd..they have so much creative talent..wait a minute KATE!!! maybe you should give Disney some ideas for an original or at least an entertaining new movie!! They need help..they need Kate! :smooth:

Anyway, the kids had a laugh so it was worth it for them...thank goodness we have a bargain matinee place here. Hope Disney starts working with PIXAR again on movies so we get more features like Toy Story, Nemo, or Monsters which have become instant classics. Anyone else who saw it let us know what you think.

DENISE,

Glad to hear all went well today with Rees. That is great that the Dr. will give you a letter excusing the kids for September, this way you won't stress over school & not enjoy your trip...the lower crowds will be good for him...MNSSHP is so much fun...

Cool. I'm trying to talk my SIL into ditching our husbands and going, so I'll let you know if that happens and when.

We make the Jello beans as well although I just throw them in a bowl. Not quite the same effect as your presentation.

I'll throw them in a bowl when I take them to the family Easter egg hunt tomorrow, but for Sunday dinner, I take more time for my kids.

Do your kids love them! Mine beg for them all year long. I make jiggler's but for some reason, my kids only go nuts when they are in the jello bean shape.

OMG, my kids never want to be in regular clothes. All they do is play dress up. We must have 50 or more costumes. We got a special rack to hang them all on. I need to post a picture. They wear them all the time and change constantly. It's probably their favorite activity. And, of course, almost all are Disney (sans a few Barbie, Spiderman, and Batman).

What! No Harry Potter?!? Guess Auntie Glynis is going to have to get on the ball and start knitting some Gryffindor scarves.

I know three travelin' Pal Mickey's that could use Gryffindor scarves!!!! They need some wands as well!!!! :rotfl2:

Denise - Forgive me for not posting it before, but :cheer2: That's great news about Rees! I'm sure all his medical problems will be old news by then. :thumbsup2

Actually -- that's what my husband hunts. Usually during Dove season....they call them ground dove, since sometimes the Dove aren't anywhere to be found.... For DH, it's a social thing. He just likes visiting with his college buddies. My DS Andrew wants to go hunting with his Popsey (my dad) ...but Andrew has such a tender heart that I know he would be traumatized if anyone in the group actually got a deer.

My DH is an avid hunter!!! 2 years ago, he was talking about deer hunting and my Katie heard him. She told him she thought it was horrible that he would go hunting. Then, she made him watch Bambi every night before he left on his hunting trip. We didn't tell her that daddy got a deer, just had it all ground into hamburger, and she didn't know that she'd been eating deer all winter long. I'm not fond of venison, but I am fond of the stocked up freezer!
