Trying to pick a fight with Kevin??

No, but he just sarcastically asked if I was posting about sex (ewwwwww) again. :teeth:

Amy :)

Denise - you could fly into DCA or IAD (Dulles) or BWI - this is about 45 minutes away - but I think Marti could get you b/c she is staying near there

Just back. Rees was really anxious which turned out to be a good thing. Said they'd request mainstream classroom and have him not pulled out of class for any help as they're afraid it'll just make him that much more nervous. Instead, have the resource teacher and therapists come to him in class. I'm very pleased.

Asked about Disney, and they will actually approve his trip because he is Special Needs and has anxiety disorder. Said it was much more important for him to go when it wouldn't stress him out and be low crowds. I just have to tell them when, and they'll write the letter. Said it would completely excuse all 3 kids for a week! So look at my ticker now!

Off to Target to shop for the Easter Bunny. Be back later.

ETA: now y'all have got to help me plan costumes again!

That is great news! I think that sounds like the best thing for Rees all around. I am so glad that you were able to get the help and responses that you needed most.

Julia, you made me smile today! And, you actually made me miss teaching a little... ;)

I used to teach Cry the Beloved Country to my seniors, and they hated it! Of course, most of them hating reading period...at least required school reading.

Amy :)

I LOVED that book!!!!!! My AP teacher made us read it, and I hated it the whole way through (as I did every one of the books she made us read)..... but now it is listed as one of my favorites! (along with every one of the books she made us read :rotfl: )

The Tag Fairy made that spelling error :p

Maybe she just liked my southern drawl ;) (I actually pronounce it like it's spelled on my tag)

Why are you assuming the tag fairy is a she? ;)

Hey, how many days until your ultrasound, by the way???

And, I hope you are feeling better!
Amy :)

That sounds like a fun night. How old do you think they need to be to see the 2nd one? They've only seen the 1st.

I think it depends on how they handle scary situations. The 2nd is not too bad, except for the spiders and the basilisk. Jacob saw it when he was 4, but he sat on my lap and buried his head in my shoulder when he got scared.

Movie number 3 Alan and I saw first, and decided it was too scary for our kids to see in the theater. I wanted to wait until we could do it at home, so I could turn it off if it got to be too much. However, it didn't phase Jacob at all. Katie, on the other hand, had nightmares about the dementors and the werewolf for days afterward.

I felt that the 4th movie was not as scary as the third. Even with the whole Voldemort thing. Alan and I saw it in the theater, and felt that Katie and Jacob could both handle it. We took them the next day, and they loved it! Jacob did have a couple of scary moments, not with Voldemort, but with the dragon.

To make a long story short (I know, too late), you know what your kids can handle. Trust your judgement!

Lindsay -- I hope the new assistant works out! Maybe then we can meet for lunch. :thumbsup2

I'm all caught up. Thanks for not talking too much tonight. ;) We had another beautiful day here today which means I didn't get much done as I had to be outside watching the little guy. He loves to be outdoors. Nick had an accident on his 4 wheeler today. He was going too fast and panicked. He shot across the road and into/under a cable. He was lucky and fell off. It could have taken him in the neck. A car was coming toward him and saw the whole thing. They stopped to make sure he was ok. He has some scratchs on his face from falling off, but was very lucky. I had a cousin that was decapitated by a cable while riding a snowmobile so this was very emotional for me. He is still scared. I really hope that he learned his lesson about riding too fast. He definately had a guardian angel watching over him today. :grouphug: :wizard:

On a happier note I got to ride my motorcycle today. It rides so comfortably. I forgot how much fun riding is. My dm is not happy that I am riding again. She worries that I will get in an accident. It's not my driving that scares her, but the other drivers out there that don't see motorcycles or the ones that intentionally cut motorcycles off (I happens way to often). I am very careful and I am confident or I wouldn't ride. The older boys can't wait to ride with us.

He'll wear a nightshirt, but won't wear a t-shirt with a design on it?

Shheess - and you were wondering what drug I was on!

That was my thought exactly. I guess we are on the same drug.

For some reason, I just don't think the same would ring true for my former students! ;)

Actually for once, my students had a "legitimate" complaint with that book. Alan Paton didn't use quotation marks for dialogue. How confusing! :teeth:

Amy :)

They just showed 2 giant smokestacks being demolished in Cincinnati today. Very cool. No free tickets right now, but they change them a lot, so I'll keep looking.

I'm staying with my friend in Baltimore so that is definitely an option.

I ran into that hatred of school reading as well. My seniors fought me on A Tale of Two Cities and Ivanho. I do NOT miss those days!
