How do your 10 and 5 year olds get along? There will be 5 years between Christopher and this baby and I worry all of the time that I've waited too long :(.

My first two, Matt and Laura, are a little over 2 years apart. Miles came along when they were 8 and 5-1/2. They all get along very well with a few minor sibling squabbles. Christopher and the baby will have a different relationship than if they were closer in age, but that isn't bad. My mother is one of six, and she had the best relationship with her youngest sister who was nine years younger. :sunny:

Delta says the flight is operated by another airline - so I actually think that is a good thing - maybe I should call and find out!!

Don't book it on travelocity - they had higher fees - book it as a one way on Delta's site and a one way on Airtran
As long as it is a Delta ticket, no matter who operates it, it will be affected. There were other threads going on about this, and I will see if I can find them.

I am a bit concerned, as my flight home from WDW in May is on Delta. But again, it is my flight home.......:teeth:

Now that the girls are older, we hold a scavenger hunt of sorts. On the counter the Easter bunny leaves a clue. Each clue leads the girls to the next clue. Eventually after 8 or 10 clues, it leads them to their basket. We dye eggs before Easter and those get hidden upstairs. I thought the yarn was a cool idea but also thought it was too much work.

We do the scavenger hunt for the baskets now, too. When I was growing up, we would leave our empty baskets out for the Easter bunny. He filled them and hid them for us to find. We started that tradition with our kids (though I curse it sometimes when I am filling Easter baskets in the middle of the night). A few years ago Miles was really interested in "treasure hunts." That year the bunny started leaving clues to the location of the basket. Miles couldn't read yet, so he had picture clues. The kids love it, so now the bunny needs to fill baskets and make up three different scavenger hunts in the middle of the night. Yeah, I know, I could actually think ahead and make up the scavenger hunt early, but that just wouldn't be me! ;)

I like it...looks good!!!! Maybe Tammi, Marti, Julie & I will get our hair permed too! :rotfl:
It looks beautiful on Kate, but NOT me. My hair is so thin and fine that it just goes fuzzy. I don't know how I made it through the 80s.

So I let my insane jealousy of my 4 yo get the best of me and I permed my hair!! I was bored and wanted a change and Julia has been telling me more and more she wants her hair straight like mine - I decided it would be better to make mine curly like hers - so Dawn you are getting your wish and can see a curly haired mom for Julia!! :teeth: I also think having curly hair is more believable for me now that I have Julia!!

Here you can see my crocs - AND I would like to point out that NONE of these pictures were taken at the front door!!!

I love your hair! Those are terrific pictures of you and the kids!

Thank you all for keeping it down to a low roar last night.:teeth:

Apparantly all my "charm" ;) worked out after all! (Just not for a free dining trip in the fall!) DH felt bad about having to turn it down after all so this was my "consolation" prize. :rotfl2:

I would post a real picture of it on my driveway, but it is starting to drizzle and I don't want to get it wet  It is silver like this picture, though.

It's gorgeous -- I'm drooling....

I don't really worry too much about my kids missing a week to go to WDW, but I do worry A LOT about hurricane season. Maybe December is not that bad after all... ;)

Monica

Hurricane season is scaring me, too. Predictions that I've heard are better than last year but still very active. I'm hoping for :wizard: for our trip and for everyone that is truly affected by hurricanes. I feel shallow worrying about the trip when there are so many with much more valid worries. But at the same time, I'm hoping for a magical trip, since it may be the last for a while.

Yes, you are correct. Rees got very sick at the end of our trip due to too much stress on his little body. I talked to his therapists and Pediatrician about it today, and they all said December is the best for him. Also, Rees is refluxing again (he had HORRIBLE GERD as a small child and was hospitalized for months at a time, was on feeding tubes, didn't eat anything orally, had to have a major surgery called a Nissen Fundoplication). Well, the Ped is sending us to the GI doc in 2 weeks cause he thinks the Fundo has loosened up. That surgery is MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR. Rees was in the hospital for a week and 2 weeks recovery at home. It would require him to get a feeding tube again.

Also he had surgery on his foot 15 months ago for a tendon release, and it is tight again. So that is definitely one major surgery and likely 2 within this year. He already misses so much school for being sick legitimately, that I can't afford for him to miss 5 days of school.

So good news is, I get to see you and Marti/Hunka/Matt at Disney~ That's a great reason to celebrate. Looks like we'll go Dec 15-22 or 23. My only problem now is the plane tickets.

Denise -- my heart goes out to you and Rees..... Honestly -- let us know if we can be of help in any way. I would tell the airlines what is going on and see if they will help. Maybe they can't, but it's worth a try.

Have one for me. I dare not buy any because I'm doing so well (except for the angel food cake that DH made the other night - had two large pieces over 2 days). I haven't cut sweets out - just trying to have only one small piece. I'd never be able to do that with twizzlers in the house.

Angel food cake is very low in WW points.....so don't feel guilty! :sunny:

There was a neat idea in Family Fun magazine this month where parents would "spider web" the house. Each child had a different color yarn, one end attached to the basket, and the other attached to the bed. In the morning, they had to untie the end on the bed and wind the yarn until they find their basket. That sounds like fun, but a little bit too much work for me.

We did this in college !!! to find our sorority big sisters, and it was so much fun! Thanks for reminding me, Glynis. I see a web in our future....

:wave2: Thanks for weighing in. If you know you don't want children I don't blame you a bit for having it done. There's too much room for "error" with the other methods.

Sigh, y'all aren't helping me any. Anyone have an awful time with it??? I'm looking for reasons not to... :lmao:

You know, they say you aren't supposed to make any life-changing decisions when you are pregnant....(raging hormones) so here's your excuse not to do it now. :thumbsup2

as someone who failed the glucose test - let me tell you it is a WALK in the park compared to a pregnancy without ice cream!! The night I realized that there was just no way no how - I sat down at my kitchen table, put my head down and sobbed!!!!!

I second that! I had GS both times. Only good things were....with second child I got extra ultrasounds since my first child was big, and was going to be induced early because of that, but DS2 decided to come early on his own!

can someone please explain to me how it is that I live in a state that supposedly lessened our tax burden this year and yet I still owe over $2000 in taxes?!!?! :confused3 :furious:

UPDATE!!!!!!

I just redid the state taxes b/c they seemed so off to me - seems I forgot to enter my DH's state withoholdings on TurboTax and we are actually getting a refund from the state!!! That was a $2700 swing!!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My DH, the CPA, still hasn't done our taxes.....I'm quite nervous about it but he says that if we owe, he wouldn't send it in until the day due, so he's just not worrying about it.

And I'm FINALLY caught up. Between work (ugh!) two soccer practices, a baseball game out of town, and policing my auction bids, I didn't get back on yesterday. I think I need a satellite WiFi card for sports season. With both boys playing soccer and baseball, I'm always going to be behind....

And so ends my posting party.

Have a great weekend, DDAs!

You want to hear sick? I took the kids to lunch at Moe's Southwest Grill today for the first time. I ordered two hard Ugly Naked Guys before I realized what I had said! They have strange names for all of their food, and the Ugly Naked guy is a bean taco (available in either soft or hard shell).

Beth

:rotfl: :rotfl: The question of the hours is How were those 2 hard ugly naked guys anyway? Did you get your money's worth? ;) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Deb -- how is Colby this morning? I hope he's better and that you all got plenty of sleep last night...
