Maybe if I told Steve that is tradition that we take our kids to WDW for their 3rd BD and how can we break a family tradition!!!!
He might come back at you and say, no, that would be STARTING a tradition, and if we start it, we'd have to keep doing it, because THEN it would be a tradition (see, so far it's only been Julia who went for her 3rd birthday. If you take Nick, THEN, it's officially a tradition). (Just giving you time to come up with your ammunition for a debate on the subject - not that I REALLY think you need it!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Alyssa!!!

:bday: party: Hope you have a great birthday party! :cake: party:

 Happy Anniversary, Denise & John!! :love2:

And Good Luck to All Those Booking the New Fall Offer! ;)

So I broached the topic with DH this morning - and as suspected he is only against it b/c he is out of vacation time -

I was talking about the cost and he said - this has nothing to do with money - I just don't have the vacation time - and I really can't argue with that

so I said - what if just the kids and I go :teeth: and he said - you are already going once without me this year - you can't go twice - again - how can I argue with that!!

I really can't harass him when we already own DVC!!

I wasn't too sucessful broaching things either...

I did price out the exact same trip...if I go in sept/oct it is about $600 cheaper...not as much savings as I originally had thought it would be.

If I take an additional trip...at the cheapest, with airfare we are at $3000...

so between Vegas, May trip, Dec trip, buying Jonathan a car, and wanting a new laptop...I think I am pushing my luck :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DENISE AND JOHN!!

I guess that makes me old... :rotfl2:

my telephone number when I was growing up had two digits and a letter. And I never think of myself as being that old. I am sure the young'ins on here will disagree :goodvibes

I need to fill out that DDA questionairre.... :surfweb:

I remember when we lived in Balston Spa, Ny we were on a 9 count em 9 party line. It was kinda hard to carry on a good conversation with someone long distance with everyone else wanting to use the phone. Now of course this was in 1970.

Alyssa's birthday is actually on Monday - and since I will get to give her brithday hugs tonight - I will wait and save my birthday wishes on here for then

(I didn't want you all to think I jsut decided not to tell her happy birthday!! ;) )

I think your car would blow up!!!

Chances are very slim. We always fueled it up with the car running when I was a teen. People would pull up to the self serve, roll down the window with the car running to tell the attendant how much gas they wanted, and the attendant would fill. I worked at a small corner store that had gas pumps so I pumped gas into running cars 1000's of times.

You also aren't supposed to use your cell phones when you are filling up. I used to do that all the time when I first got my cell phone. Then one or two people got a spark which started a fire so now they say, don't do it.

I would say you are more likely to have a car accident then you are to have your car blowup or start a fire in either situation. It is just one of those "better safe than sorry" situations.

ETA: I did have a friend in Iron Mountain have a spark catch the gas on fire. She did not have the car running and was not using her cell phone. It was just from static electricity.

Damn it - don't hate when you know they are right!!! :teeth:

TAMMI

Did you see I got you a pair of crocs?

Let me know if you want them!!

And I will have to say the are SO comfortable - I hate the bumps on the bottom of the real crocs but these are just like walking on a cushion with no bumps!!! I love them - they were a little tight on my toes - I popped them in the dryer for a couple of minutes put them on my feet hot and now they are fine - there was plenty of room but the strap was pushing my foot forward so this stretched the strap a little!!

I've been meaning to try this. Can't remember who posted that. Mine are a little tight on my toes as well because the strap pushes my foot forward. Thanks for letting us know that it works. I'll give it a try today in between my laundry loads.

Since Nick is our last - it is not a tradition he would have to worry about upholding!! :thumbsup2

I haven't had time to catch up yet, but

THANK YOU, DENISE!!!!!

Your post about the free dining was the first thing that I saw this morning. I now have free dining for the second week of our vacation (we're off-site the first week), and an extra day to spend in the parks (since we had to get a one day ticket with the package). If my math is correct, it basically works out that we are eating for $14.78 each/day over the cost of my room only AAA discount reservation that I had previously (and the cost of the extra day is figured in there). I was able to move my LeCellier lunch from the first week to the second, too!

Yippee!!!!

can you check pricing on the website>?

I'm sure that you have already figured this out, but you can check pricing on the website. That's how I ran all my figures before we decided to go with it. My numbers matched exactly with them when I called.

I don't think they'd question them being sick. I don't like lying and don't want my kids to have to, but family time is much more important to me. Maybe the teachers will be cool about it.

As a mother of a ds who will be off to college in a little more than 3 years, go for it!!! The time goes so, so fast. I am sure that you will be able to catch them up on the school work.

But surely for it to continue being a tradition past Nick would require them to have another child, since both Nick and Julia would already have spent their 3rd birthday's there :rolleyes1:

ETA - I just read that Kate already pointed that out :) - oh and Kate - DH is really impressed with your "writing" in your signature :thumbsup2
