The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 31

I made the ADR for a party of 10 because we weren't sure if Tammi'sBob and his DD would be there. It turns out they have to leave the night before, so we have room for the 2 of you!

Well, we are booked at Saratoga Springs for Dec. 13-17. The first night is a one-bedroom, the second a studio, and the last two nights are a one-bedroom. I have my plane tickets booked at $178 each (before tax). We get to Orlando by noon on the 13th and don't leave Orlando until 4:00 on the 17th. I need to call for ADR's (yeah, like that will be available). We are willing to just eat at the food courts but I'll give it a try. Chuck wants to attend the MVMCP party on the 16th. I'm waiting to find out when the DVC merry mixer is at Epcot. Someone thought they would be scheduled for the 6, 13, 20 & 27. If that is the case, we could make the one on the 13th.

I'm trying to make sure I'm set for my March trip and I'll be calling on that shortly to make my reservations. A one-bedroom was available at Old Key West when I was on the line making my Dec. reservations which is what I think we want. I just have to make sure we still have enough points left for June with my sister.

I do have a question for DVC members. My understanding is that if I make a reservation, I better make it for the least accomodations I want because if I end up changing to something using less points, I have to use those points in the Use Year (can't bank them) and I can't make reservations using them until 2 months before the scheduled trip. Is that correct? Is that for all DVC points or just my incentive points?

It sounds like you're having a great birthday so far

As far as the DVC questions, that is the first I've heard of it, but I'm sure someone will know.

Depending on when you cancel them, part of that is true. If you cancel a trip more than 30 days in advance they go back to the same use year and can't be banked, but have no other limitations. If you cancel more closely to your trip, they go into "holding" and have more restrictions.

There are different rules if you book a non DVC resort. I was told when we booked FW that if we cancel the reservation the points would have to be used at another non DVC resort and could not be returned the our DVC bank. They would also expire at the end of July as our use year is Aug.

Yesterday was a long day. Rees really, really hurt and was hungry. Since he couldn't eat, that was a big issue. He actually slept and seems to feel better today. He got to eat 2 popsicles which was a relief. He's on Pedialyte in his g-tube, and they will advance it slowly. Hoping for good progress, but I think we'll be here for a few more days. Our goal is to be home for Thanksgiving.

I just may have to make t-shirts with that for our December trip. I can't believe that we did this so spur of the moment. I know that Chuck has been bugging me for a couple of weeks but this is so out of line for both of us. Purchasing DVC isn't out of character - the planning a trip in less than a month is the surprising part for me!

Just wanted to say that I received my ornament exchange! Thank you so much, Karen!!! I love everything. She sent me a darling Mickey and Minnie under the mistletoe ornament, a "magic" washcloth, which Leslie already claimed, and the best, warmest fleece blanket ever!!! It's got Minnie all over it, and I love it! I have to confess that I didn't fight Leslie too hard over the washcloth, since I really wanted to keep the blanket for myself! I'm wrapped up in it, as we speak, and it's so wonderful!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I'll try to get pictures posted soon!!

By the way, I have everything gathered for my ornament exchange packages, and they will be going out tomorrow!!!
