I'm wiped out after scrubbing the patio, steps, railings.
Were all green with mold.
Also replanted my potted flower garden.
Sunday
Grocery, rake front yard, put in some new grass seed.
Not to mention color my hair.
Then just relax with the paper.
Catch ya later.
Take care.

You DO save money - substantial amounts of it. The reason we didn't buy in is because even financing for 10 years the monthly payments were too much for us to take on right now. I feel certain we will buy, but not right now. We will also likely buy resale.:)

We will probably do resale as well. I would like OKW. With all the pictures I have seen of that resort, I think it is a resort much like POR. That is our favorite resort so far. We'll check it out in December if we go then or during our March trip.

I got the original email that Deb posted about DDE as well as this one today at 4pm.

Many of you have expressed concern about the 18% gratuity that will be added to all Disney Dining Experience transactions. When using your Disney Dining Experience membership card the assessed gratuity will be added to all table service restaurant locations and lounges for all transactions regardless of party size. Gratuity will not be added to any counter service, food cart or quick service locations. In the past, gratuity was only implemented for larger parties of 8 or more for guests utilizing their Disney Dining Experience membership.

This adjustment to the program has been implemented in order to align the Disney Dining Experience Program with other dining experiences where gratuities are included. Effective January 1, 2008, when utilizing your Disney Dining Experience discount 18% gratuity will be added.

If you have any further questions or concerns we would ask that you send an e-mail to our Executive Offices at wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com.

Hi, Jo! Good to hear from you! Congrats to Ramiro!:cool1:

Denise, continued good thoughts and well wishes for Rees!!

I think DS must like 6th grade so much that he wants to stay there.:headache: He was supposed to turn in a LIST of the resources he is using for his Science fair project. A LIST, like a bibliography. I told him to get out the pages of info I printed so he can get going on his rough draft and he doesn't have them. He TURNED THEM IN! Since WHEN do you give the teacher the actual, physical resources? Now I can't find the ones we listed, so that's all screwy. You would think Google results would be the same each time, but they aren't. His bibliography just won't match what he already submitted. I am not very happy with him.:sad2:

I would wait until Monday and get copies of the original resources from the teacher. It sounds a bit bizarre and I bet there is a communication error there.

You aren't going to believe this! Chuck is still trying to convince me to go to Disney in December. I can get flights for $238 round trip (which is great for us). I told him if we are going to start going this often we need to consider DVC. He is thinking we'd stay at Pop so we could be prepared for when we go in June. I'm not sure I'm sold on that because the reason he wants to go is because last Christmas was his favorite trip ever. I'm not sure if it would begin to compare if we don't stay at POR.

Chris says to tell Chuck that we won't be there :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, I'll be going off to do research on the DVC board. I told Chuck that we really need to start considering this now. He isn't convinced it would save us money because the dues would be so high each year. I'll be needing my buddies here to help me crunch the numbers.

I would be happy to give you a friends and family referral to get the best deal.:)

So DS basically spent the day going round and round with me. He fussed about getting his hair cut short (it was relatively good-natured fussing, but still). He REALLY fussed about doing his research paper, and that was NOT good-natured. DH and I were both getting very angry with him.

I said his friend could come over tomorrow, so that's my own doing. His friend called today and I told DS to find out WHEN he is coming over and if he is being dropped off or if we need to pick him up. (He doesn't live far.) DS gets off the phone and says his friend will come over between 9-10 AM. That's a little early for me! ANd DH will just be getting home from work, which means he will want it quiet in the house so he can sleep. I am SERIOUSLY thinking of taking the boys to see Bee Movie. Mainly to preserve my own sanity. I hope his friend hasn't seen it! I have no idea how long he'll be staying. I guess I'll find out in the morning.

Well I guess I'll say goodnight, I'm off to take my last bubble bath for a while, that's one of the few downsides of vacationing for me, I love bubble baths.

I guess I won't ask for a recap when I return, as they are now forbidden.

I hope to hear that Rees is doing great when I return

See you all next week!

Take the time to consider new purchase there are some great deals on Saratoga and AKVs right now. AKV even has developer bonus points. I'll have to look up the prices, but I was looking the other day. If you buy the newer resorts your contract date will be longer.

I'm going to snuggle in for the night. Talk to you all tomorrow!

bye Deb have a safe trip and a great time

Here is some info from the DVC boards. The member website is having problems now so I can't get on for specifics.

I don't believe they do offer anything extra for those who buy while at WDW. In fact, what they have been known to do is to offer the same incentives available to the general public, but to place a time restriction on the offer. If you call from home to inquire, you'll get the standard offer of $10 off at SSR or $8 off at AKV. But if your first contact with DVC is during an on-site tour, they will probably offer the same discounts while indicating that you must agree to buy within 3 days or risk losing the discounts.

Right now the best offer going is the $10/$8 discount with the bonus points for referral by a member. Disney Visa cardholders (as of 9/1) can also get $500 in Visa rewards if they charge their downpayment. I believe the Visa deal ends on 11/30. No ending date has been announced for the referral bonus.

Is that going to be a character meal now? Or is it just reopening as a regular restaurant? I may take you up on that if we book the trip.

It is characters - only at breakfast. Donald, Daisy, and 2 others. My brain is mushy from dealing with DS!:rotfl2: Our ADR is for 10:30 so it's more of a brunch. We wanted to be able to do a few things (or at least grab Fast Passes) and then meet to have breakfast. The park opens at 9 AM.

Elizabeth, you need a good English tea. Twinings English or Irish Breakfast is very good.

I'll have to look for those. Thanks!:)

Deb - I don't know what his deal is with turning in his resources.:confused3 He did say the teacher told him if he needs those back to let her know. He had almost 2 pages written when I left for work tonight, but it has to be 2 pages, typed, double spaced in font no larger than 14 so he has to write some more. Of course the paper for Wednesday is just a rough draft so I think as long as she sees that he is working on it he'll be fine.

Vicki - Thanks for posting the e-mail! People are completely freaking out about the DDE gratuity. I get the impression from the 30-some-odd page thread on Restaurants that some people haven't been tipping much (Or not at all) and they are mad about this increasing their dining costs. Of course a lot of the furor comes from people who are NOT DDE holders reading WAY too much into an e-mail that wasn't sent to them. That's where the panic about tipping at CS and ice cream carts came from. The changes are precisely what was reported from the union negotiations over the summer. I can see how it will be a problem if service is crummy, because waiting for a manager and arguing about your bad service will take time. But if the service is OK then we will just pay and be done with it since we always tipped 20% anyway!:rotfl:

Here is the Developer Points summary:

New members can get some bonus Developer's Points but it requires a 225 minimum purchase AND a referral from a current member. Here are the details:

225 pt minimum purchase (to obtain Developer's Points)
$96 per point net ($104 - $8 incentive) at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas
One-time bonus of 160 Developer's Points

Existing members can also receive Developer's Points with an add-on of 110 points or more. The number of DPs received varies according to the size of the add-on:

110 - 159pt add-on at SSR or AKV: 100 Developer's Points
160 - 199 pt add-on at SSR or AKV: 160 Developer's Points
200+ pt add on at SSR or AKV: 270 Developer's Points

Good night, Janet!

Enjoy your bubble bath, Debbie! Have a magical time at WDW!!:wizard:

Vicki - I will have to pull out the DVC stuff we got in August and I will PM you the details. They offered us 2 different "packages" with different incentives. They were GOOD incentives, too, but they required pretty immediate action. All the offers expired in 3 days, which was bad for us because we toured Thursday PM. We flew home Friday PM and then banks are closed Sat & Sun so we couldn't try to shop for our own financing. They tried to get us to buy with their financing and then shop for alternate financing at home but that made me uncomfortable. I am glad we didn't do it because it would have been too much for us. If you are interested I can forward you the resale e-mails I get so you can get an idea of prices for resale at different properties. The resale lady was FABULOUS - she told me several things that DVC did not tell me and she was very patient.

Chris says to tell Chuck that we won't be there :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would be happy to give you a friends and family referral to get the best deal.:)

Yeah, I seem to remember you saying that about the October trip as well. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

If we decide to purchase new, I'll definitely come to you for a referral. Thanks for the offer.

Oh, MY! The news was reporting that a rhino might have gotten loose from the zoo!:scared1: The police got a 911 call that a rhino was loose, but it was a false alarm. Apparently there was a car crash that might have knocked down a fence??? The rhinos aren't on the perimeter - they are smack in the MIDDLE of the zoo. A car would have to mow down LOTS of fences to get anywhere near the rhino enclosures. Strange report.:sad2: I am glad it was false.

I figured it was time for me to start posting to this thread since i have been posting my designs lol. Hi everyone I am Crystal.
